Final Fantasy Forum Mafia Game Thread

This is pretty much how I see all of the things that have happened today, I'm going to skip the quotes for the time being since apparently it doesn't make a difference.

BPC gets on drixx's case. From the read and re-read of what BPC was posting, I would have to say he had some sort of investigative role of some type. Either that or he just really didn't like drixx.

Drixx shoots BPC. The shot was done way too early and without enough forethought or reason to shoot BPC. There is no other way for me to view this other than Drixx being scummy and he was trying to put a hault to any information as soon as possible, and then as Moar states many times try and talk his way around it later.

Moar shoots Drixx. Granted if this wasn't done, I probably would have voted Drixx without much hesitation. However, once again the shot was way too early. Even if he was only going to spew a lie about BPCs role, it would have been helpful to hear it. This would have caused him to think on the spot of something to put together that may or may not have been challenged.

Currently these are my thoughts other than the "oh lets just shoot people" mentality that is happening:

Two black mages, one being mafia, one being town makes sense in theory since two of the same alignment makes no sense. However this means jobs can be repeated, which will be interesting down the line and harder to challenge others based on their job. I don't like it. Sounds messy.

The powers described as fire and ice, fire being a kill, and ice being a jailer type power makes sense to me as we typically have used ice based attributes as jailer in previous games (myself included), so I tend to believe Moar in that respect.

For the moment I can't see lynching Moar, and I think we should focus elsewhere, although I'm not sure where quite yet. The only thing I can think of doing is seeing who was buddy buddy with Drixx the first day.

Vote Count as of post #344:

[strike]Drixx[/strike] {0}: [strike]BipolarChemist[/strike][SUP]1[/SUP], (Zokar[SUP]1[/SUP], Unvote[SUP]1[/SUP]), (Goldtru[SUP]1[/SUP], Unvote[SUP]1[/SUP]), Vorle[SUP]2[/SUP], (AnnualAntAnswers[SUP]2[/SUP], Unvote[SUP]2[/SUP])
Technomancer {1}: FredOfErik
Moar {2}: Zokar, Goldtru
Goldtru {1}: Moar
Bad Ash {1}: Goryani

[SUP]1[/SUP]: Any vote made by, or against, a player that has been killed is dropped.
[SUP]2[/SUP]: I have included any votes/unvotes made against a dead player after their death just for information's sake. These votes are invalid anyway, and don't count. I've included them just for the sake of completion.

Day 2 will end roughly 5.5H from this post. Reminder, while 18 players remain, it takes 9 votes for a lynch, 10 votes to lock.

I'm going to go from memory here. First off, I really wish I'd been able to post during the day yesterday. I think by the time I caught up yesterday, Drixx had killed BPC, but had yet to tell us his flip. I found him very scummy then, but after his "oops he's town" I was leaning toward believing him since I had a one shot day shot in a previous game and the same thing happened to me. It sucks wind to shoot someone you think is scum and find out they're town. His reaction seemed right to me, though the "let's not compound the error by lynching me" swung me back a little to the scum side, it still "felt" honest enough.

In contrast, I just do not believe Moar at all. Not even a little bit.

Vote: Moar

If I was wearing a hat, I'd give it to you to eat because this is EXACTLY why I was on BPC on day 1.

Keep your stinky hat away from me. Zokar claimed. I did not. The two scenarios could hardly be more different.

Does that mean I am town and JCakes is scum? No, not at all, but I challenge you to answer this: If this was day 1 with no night you'd probably have a different feeling of Jcakes than you do now.

Why do you mention Jcakes throughout this? I have no answer as, currently, I don't know what you are talking about.

For the record, I am town and voted you with no intention of you being lynched, but for the exact reason you said, to make it not an obvious default lynch. I believed yesterday that your lynch would provide information on BPC and possibly Gwaihir and obviously that is not the case today. In terms of yesterday you are 100% correct. Would you prefer that I let myself become the default lynch and eventually end up claiming to avoid a no lynch, or to make it even and add more WIFOM on every aspect? Your vote now, based off of questions asked and actions we've seen today are very hypocritcal.

One game, I was vote tied with someone else. I had a vote on that someone else. It was near the end of the day. I unvoted that someone else when I thought they were town. I was then the leading vote getter. I was town and that other player ended up being town. I wasn't lynched that day and I don't think the other was either.

Townies don't vote to lynch someone for information. That's a scum motivation.

Interesting takeaway. Well, looking back through, the only thing BPC said that stuck out to me was #209 where he mentioned mafia Drixx kissing CG's butt. I guess he was referring to #190? I didn't really read that as kissing butt, but I guess it could be? Besides that, it just looked like a vote for Drixx and a bunch of jibber-jabber. Anything else stand out to you? You think connecting Drixx to CG could have played a part?

Played a part in what? I think Drixx's response involving CG was scummy and I called him out for it already.

You are the master at spinning narrative to fit your agenda. Give me a break.

lulwut? Since when have you been of this persuasive? I may have thought this when I first started playing mafia, but after hearing the opposite of what you just said nearly every game, I don't think this way anymore.
Vote: Goryani
What else can the town do? Wait until a PR comes out and says, "I'm not the cop but I know that drixx is scum," (drixx b/c he dead) "Drixx died last night? Guess who the only person who visitied drixx is: ____."
Is that what we need to do? Or I reckon we could wait until someone posts something so scummy that it's a policy lynch.

When during the course of the game did this happen? Beginning? End?
Sometimes this does happen, there is a +70% chance for us to lynch town on any given day. I'm glad that happened. Imagine, though, if that other person turned up scum. You would have been looked at for being scum later in the game, possibly losing the game for town.

Day 2 has ended in a no-lynch.

**After arriving at the chocobo races, you are given a tour of the grounds, including the stables. The stables are fairly straight-forward, rows of individual holding pens line each side of a long, straight barn. There is one pen in particular that stands out; it is nearly ten times in size, and the outside wall and roof over this pen appear to be made from newer materials, as if it has been repaired recently. The stalls are filled with various genus of greens, and the guide explains the benefits and risks for the birds as the tour progresses. Two of the students take particular interest in the stalls, and stop for a moment during the tour to notice that the largest of the stalls has no greens in it. Of the two students that snuck in unbeknownst to the tour guide, one of them pipes up with a question:**

"What is this area used for? I don't see any greens here?"

Tour guide: "Please, I have to ask the two of you to step out immediately! That pen houses a very angry, very large bird! He was rescued from the --"

Pppppppphhhheeew, SPLAT!

**A giant chocobo crashes through the roof of the largest stall, landing on the two unsuspecting students!**

Tour guide: "What a shame. Never trust a cactuar to post a warning sign! They will use 10,000 needles to post it, and just destroy the thing!"

**Immediately, the General and Deputy begin to gather up the students, including the two that were injured by the fat chocobo, and head for the Highwind. In all the commotion, one of the students was left behind...**

"Kupo-kupop! I don't think these two will make it back to the Academy." a soft, but serious voice of a moogle rings out over the ship's intercom as they sail back toward the school.

**One student, standing at the edge of the chocobo ranch, stares off into the sunset as the Highwind powers through the evening sky...**

Gwaihir has died!
