Everyone go bot hunting

Currently on East Ladder there are tons (literally, tons) of bots of a specific website running games named like "unid anni4JD" or "griff 4 5od"...i'm sure alot of you fellow Easterners saw such games.

The bot is always a level 90ish paladin doing the same mf run where he do travincal and eldritch/schenk.

Their IA is quite poor and he won't come after you so they are easy to kill long-range. They also drop alot of gold :)

Just make sure a monster and not you is doing the fatal blow so he will lose experience.

the bot isnt smart enough to chicken?
and why on earth is he advertising a trade when he is afk botting?
is the bot smart enough to trade for him?
 
Ah, so you're behind this eh? Good job. Poison Nova or Javelin would be especially good for this I'm thinking. Any info on which order the bot runs? Trav then Act 5 or Act 5 then trav?
 
The bot is probably advertising for a trade to draw in players, as it means more XP and drops.
 
this would prolly be the only reason i would make an pvp char of some sort :grin:

its a shame that bots are takeing down the economy...
 
Yeah i have seen tons of those games as well. Like someone else said above me they dont trade, or talk. I always thought it was just an idle mule. But now that i know i will enjoy hunting them down, sounds like a good break from mfin'
 
I'm so anti-clan it's not funny, but i could see organizing a group to work this sort of thing... never done pvp but perhaps an *** of static field and poison would drop it to 1hp... then comes the Fallen.

Edit: I love the word filter, it removed ***, which has nonprofane options, but leaves hell and damn alone... it's great. Remind me to name all of my mules *** rather than mule.
 
Get em guys. Those games are just flooding the game list. It's so annoying.

If I get to the point where I have some wealth I'll join the hunt.
 
Sometimes when i'm looking to buy something and these games are on then. I usually check act 5 or act 3 that time.
 
Can bots accept party invites? I entered a game called something like "anni for l8w" and this pally was playing in A5 and wouldn't respond to my questions, so I started spamming the party invite and he accepted a couple of times. Never said anything though, which was strange because I was being as irritating as I could trying to get a response. I don't know much about bots, but can they teleport to town and buy potions etc?
 
Lol, u guys must be bored outta ur wits. But it sure sounds like fun..! Post screenshots, peoplz. Anyone wanna put out a bounty for each of their ear? Juz a thought.. Call it Bot-Hunting Season :laugh:
 
Crap I forgot to SS it, but I just killed him woot! It's kind of difficult to do it because I have to hostile in town then tele to frigid. Unfortunately I killed him instead of the monsters killnig him, but it was still loads of fun and I'll SS my next kill!
 
a lot of times its unid anni with 2 or 3 random letters following it. The script is some website with money or something, it's always a 90 or 91 pally with the letter "g" in the first part of his name I think.
