Everyone go bot hunting

last night i pked the bots huge. ran up my gold to 2.5mill, gambled it all away, ran it up again.

i've been using my summoner necro to follow the bot into Trav, pick up gear before the bot picks it up, follow the bot to Frigid, raise my army, then hostile before he goes to Bloody Foothills for Shenk. i follow behind him, Amp, and Corpse Explode.

if i get into the game early enough, i check with Ormus - sometimes you'll see the bot go to his stash, and come back to Ormus. last night i picked up a 3/-5 poison facet.

Bot-Banger Build

Necromancer:
SKills:

Max CE
Max AMP
Max Bonewall

rest where ever you think is best. I this is my first necro so idk where to put the rest

Stats: enough for eq, rest vit, like normal.

Eq: Almost anything will do, But I think that I have an effective EQ setup thats pretty cheap.

Trangs Set: massive resist, def, fcr, skills, frw, ect. Perfect for this build.

Ammy: Anything with tele charges.
Rings: anything really, mines gonna be 2xNagels
Boots: Sanders for me, could use anything with decent fr/w
Weapon: Baba or a nice skill/fcr wand.

Play Method:
Party for Trav. Amp/CE to help clear them quicker if you want. Keep an eye out for good drops. When you see one, choke bot with bonewalls, Tele in and pick it up.
Hostile by Ormus.
Follow for Eldritch, Bonewall/tele for anything good.
Follow to shenk. Amp him here, CE shenk when he dies.

As far as I can tell, This should melt any bot, plus get all of the drops, and with your insane R/W speed you can easily avoid hammer fields.

I'm building this Wednesday Night. should be fun

Yeah I don't know why the ears don't drop. Who knows. I've killed about a dozen or so the last 2 days. Its pretty fun. I go in, do a summoner run, go kill shenk and eldrich, kill the bot at the wp, then go to nih.

Why run the summoner, besides the chance for a key he really isnt worth running. A much better alternative (if you can kill him) is pindle, with 2 people in the game the drop odds are better than running him solo. Also him being the mlvl that he is (not sure what it is right off hand), just about everything in the game can be dropped by him, unlike the summoner. Again thats just my .02 cents on the subject.

i think the ONLY reason to run the summoner is for the Hkey. the chances of him dropping one are slightly better when there's more than one player in the game.

good idea to run Pindle, and the drops can be very good - just don't hostile the bot before this, as you won't be able to enter the red portal. :thumbsup:

This is a common misconception, but it's usually not true. Players only count as a full player if they're in your party and within about a 2 screen distance from you; otherwise, they only count as a half. In the case of these bot runs, you'll have you (1) plus the bot (.5) for 1.5 which gets truncated to 1. You aren't actually gaining anything in your drops unless you join his party and help do Travincal (for example).

FINALLY! FUNSDD's level 92 Paladin ear is mine! I only do 2500 damage right now (level 80), so this took me a while to kill one before he made away to Eldritch or Shenk. Over 200K in gold too. My first bot kill feels good.

Hunting bots for a few days now, but i had my real pleasure yesterday when i was using my light sorc to hunt:
Entered a game just created, partied with the bot...took the drop in travi...then came back to kurast, hostiled him... selled the stuff and went to frigid...
I didnt went to eldritch but just waited for the bot...gog-tom i think it was...and when he appeard he started to hammer...must have been because my merc were there. So i had no time to kill him (hammer are deadly if i get hit )and he went directly to kill eldrich.. I just followed him and tried to fry him...I didn't got the kill but one of elrdich weaklings got it ^^
So much pleasure to see he got killed by a monster because of me

Beside, I also think a summoner with CE is really nice to hunt bots... i especially boosted my sleeping summoner from act 1 to 5 to try....and well he seldom survive shenk spot...
I want to built a blizz sorc especially to hunt bot now...to see how it work...

I love my charged strike zon. Pull out the tstrokes lets see. One or two pokes depending on the bot's level, then pop. Oops I did it again. Then go look for another game.

There's a baal bot on Europe ScL named [highlight]Gos-Bot[/highlight]... all games with [highlight]GoS[/highlight]-prefix are run by it (I think).

He doesnt leave on hostile but uses chicken... so you need somekind of devastating damage to kill him... AKA CE

There's one other baal bot too I've seen many times but it chickens on hostile and makes the ng with a random number.

I'm on west ladder and started hunting bots a lot more today.

there was something weird though. i killed it and there was no money! maybe other people kept on killing the poor bot...:scratch:

Ok my Blizz Sorc is built and well she kill the bot much faster and easier than my necro... It is a lot of fun to hunt those little bots and get at least 190K gold everytime...The only hickup is that Eldrcih monsters are all cold imune...so the trick is to wait bot starts casting his hammer then blizz on his head....2 blizz and he generally die...gog-tom is the only one who often chicken and leave...other generally die like good boys....
A question...When i kill them, why no ear on the floor?

how come there have been 2 people (maybe more, just cant remember, nor do i feel like looking) that have said no ears have dropped? Seems very weird, as i was killing bots, i was (key word was) collecting the ears (had a char full, both inv and stash, then deleted it). Anyone else not getting ears to drop?

No, im like you, had a mule filled with ears, got pointless, so i deleted it. I check for ears on every drop, but don't bother to pick em up now. I have had ears drop 100% of the time.

Some reasons why no ears

* Player didn't get the kill, maybe a nearby mob got the killing blow?
* Bot didn't die. Several times i thought ive had him and he just S/E's. I look for ear and gold, cant find, check log and see no death, just chicken.
* Cant see ear coz of too many drops. Sometimes we miss minor white stuff when their is heaps of it. The council is a prime example.
* Bot was deaf.

Well... I am sure i got the kill as it stated: -"bot" was killed by kayalynx- and the gold was there...I am also happy when he get kill by monsters,butI am sure i killed him myself many times as i check the top screen message and i killed him in place where there where no drop at all...that is frigid wp itself...
So i really don't know, Guess bot was deaf, got his ear cut off too many times...or the ear was frozen then destroyed when fall on the floor...

Still hunting , and still no ear... dunno why really... thats strange i killed a lots and in diverse place... Travi portal, near council frigid wp, shenk, eldritch...but havn't seen an ear yet....
