Ender's Mafia Game

Really Drixx? It was a straight up clarification question. You said you could confirm what Sath said (i.e. his counter Mason claim) - naturally the first thing to pop into my head was "is Drixx claiming to be the other Mason mentioned by Sath?" Yet rather than a straight up yes/know, you dodge the question and try to attack me, this after you earlier petulantly demanded I reveal my role. Welcome to the top of my suspects list. I notice your response to other posters on several occasions has been similarly churlish. Is your bad-cop act a tactic to try and rattle the scum into making mistakes, or is it your version of hiding in plain sight? I'm starting to think the latter.

Churlish is such an interesting word. When you told us you had a slam dunk case that FoE was scum, you stopped short of giving any explanation for how you knew that. I (wrongly) assumed you must be the investigator and was worried that if you didn't claim and give us your nightly results, you would be killed off and your identity would be co-opt-able by scum.

Now me, on the other hand, is quite a different case. I didn't make the claim... Sathoris did. What I said is that I can confirm that Sathoris is telling the truth. There are several ways I might be able to make that statement:

1.) I'm in the mason group
2.) I have a role that gives me people's roles post-death (and thus would know that SI was vanilla townie and not a mafia who got bombed by his target).
3.) I'm the town investigator
4.) I'm the dreamer

Those are at least four different ways I could have access to information in order to back up Sathoris. If my information allowed me to do more than just confirm Sathoris' claim, I would have shared it... because even stepping forward enough to confirm his story puts a target on me.

I stopped short of sharing everything straight up for a very good reason, and I suspect you know that. You, on the other hand, are ducking and weaving. Are you the second Mason?

I'm waiting for a reply from the game's moderator before I decide how specifically to share why I know Sathoris is telling the truth. Suffice it to say that I know Sathoris' story is true. Until I hear back from the mod, I'm going to be very careful what I say about how I know.

And the only very good reason I can think of that you were so vague is that you were trying to discern for sure that what you heard was mafia talk. Well ... the only good pro-town reason. It's still within the realm of possibility that you were making a bus play on Moar and you avoided answering me while you and your scum-buddies figured out how to proceed. Given your name claim and how that character behaved in "Ender's Shadow", I find you to be 90% believable.

I already explained why I wanted you to role claim. I missed your hint that you were an eavesdropper/listener role and I thought you had outed yourself as the town sheriff. Under that (wrong) assumption, I wanted you to share what you had learned because I figured you were gonna be dead within a couple nights.

I'd still like to know what you heard last night since it's highly possible you get targeted tonight.

Thank you. That is the sort of answer I can live with. For now.

As for your further comments on why I held back, all I can say is they are a load of ********. I was deliberately vague and deliberately held back information because I wanted to see how people would react before I shared more. Give 'em enough rope to hang themselves, as the old saying goes. I had plenty of time (well over 24 hours) before the end of that day in which I could share more. I was already certain that what I had heard was Mafia talk. Holding back ultimately allowed me to pick a hole in FoE's story apart from Sath's claim.

And don't worry, I will be sharing more before this day is out.

Wow, didn't expect that particular word to get the asterisk treatment (an English vulgarity I'm rather fond of that refers to certain sensitive external male organs, not the more common expression with the same number of letters referring to cow droppings of the male variety). Forum filters are generally stupid and assume everyone only speaks American English.

Don't worry, I caught the gist of it. I pointed out the worst possible case for why you went so long before responding, but you should note that I ended by pointing out that I am 90% sure you're legit. I cannot say that about many other folks in the game at the moment. Also, I posted far more than I should have during that day phase and I feel like I'm starting to do so again today. I think we really need to motivate the wallflowers to get involved. Way too easy for scum to blend in when half the players are barely making the minimum post per day.

On the other hand, perhaps some vanilla townie might want to volunteer to put the lock in and take the chance... would be nice to keep the masons around for as long as possible, imo.

:soapbox: I am not who I think some of you think I am. There are 7 votes on FoE. With 17 players that should be 9 to lynch and 10 to lock. I will lock. I'm not afraid.

What would you say about about a commander that had no powers?

I am pretty ornery lately.
Still, looking at that theory, everybody rattles ya...

@Goryani - Of course I wasn't confirming what Sathoris thought. I'm only confirming that the actual claim part of his story is true.

It was still funny.

The first option is the only one that allows you to confirm Sath's claim. All of it.

The second option can let you know the bits about SI's role and how FoE should be lying but it won't let you confirm other elements of Sath's claim (mason, 1 shot vig, etc).

The third option might tell you if FoE is scum or if Sathoris is town. There are inferences to be made but they are still inferences rather than confirmations.

The fourth option looks like a joke option. It looks like a reference to the dreaming god in Roles of Madness or the dreamer/sleeper in Inception/Commencement.

So I'll ask a simple question: Are you able to confirm ALL of Sathoris' claim? Please don't elaborate beyond a simple yes/no.

pinging my scumdar so far:To the WIFOM:
that both Fred & Val survived the night (especially Fred) just makes them reek of scum. I know that when I play as scum, nothing makes me happier than NK'ing a failed lynch. Its wonderful for denying town info & causing confusion. Fred came damned close to a lynch yesterday, with another trying to get going on Val, yet the mafia kill BipolarChemist, who had barely even posted.

The only reason I think BC died was a bus driver switch. Someone felt they were in danger and probably thought, "hm, the only way to save my hide is to switch with someone who has been playing low key. " It is a play I have seen used and used myself.

wth is a dreamer? I've never heard of that...

doesn't sit well with me, doesn't sit well with me. If townie play, it is super aggressive and doesn't make you seem like townie. But you are asking questions and getting info... idk. To me, it seems pretty ballsy whenever a townie demands for answers the way you did and never works out for me. XD I'm always voted off.

Hmm, Z has claimed. From what I read, Zokar, I don't see your char as an info type.

LMAO! That tells me all I need to know. Sucking up to Drixx... you want him thinking you are town.

1 shot mason vigilante I think not!

Kill: Sathoris

We need to play more games in the SPF. I want more vigilante roles!

Sathoris is dead.

Also a reminder to my first game (also in SPF), the Commie Invasion, where Gory killed someone in the middle of the day.

@ Jason

Yea or nay on FoE? 438 says nay but 355 said yea. You're the one who can read the posts. Is FoE's claim a reasonable explanation for what you read?

So I'll ask a simple question: Are you able to confirm ALL of Sathoris' claim? Please don't elaborate beyond a simple yes/no.

You should have waited until I replied. I cannot confirm ALL of his story, but apparently you can just insta-kill someone and decided to do so without all the info.

wth is a dreamer? I've never heard of that...

Also known as the "little girl" in some games. The dreamer in forum games has nightmares and has a small chance to randomly get the indentity of someone via a dream in the night.

That was a mistake. *Shakes head sadly*
