"Cannot connect to server", well maybe the game is down by now. Otherwise something is wrong. The SPF don’t work very well either.

Woo wait a minute. are you saying your starting another character reborn?
How long does a good P8 minions/baal run kill? If you TP past everything before them. How confident are you of not dieing on every run?

I know, I should better quit this project. Obviously I can't find a character that's strong enough and enough fun for me.
With the convictionist I wanted to be cool and so on and this sorc... Well, my griffon's eye that I found a day before I started her has influenced me...
While she does well in lowplayer games, you can forget about her in p8 baalruns. I can tp to the throne, no problem (lol). The first wave is quite easy, but as soon as the second wave comes... I don't seem to damage them at all, except static...

Sounds like you need a nice cookie cutter that has been proven to wh00p a55 in P8 baal runs and that is fun. Do you prefere melee or caster? i'd say you like casters more, so how about a cheeseadin? you like hammers? and cant say there not strong enough for you..Reborn2k said:I know, I should better quit this project. I dunno if I should start another character. You all must feel like I was pulling your legs... And I look like a little kid buying items at ebay to impress other in baalruns with uber stuff and such... -.- Or like a 'whad is teh strognsest acharacterr' thread starter... -.-
No Enigma for me (I'm waiting for the runes), vigour and run past everything, when you get to the doorway to Baals seat I switch to Naj's and tele into the corner, switch back kill everything then kill minions + Baal.Reborn2k said:
I honestly couldn't imagine trying to get to 99 with anything but an Uber cheesy cookie cutter (unless you're as rich as Strijdje). A Hammerdin can do the runs easily and once you get the hang of them it is very quick, my runs are averaging 5 minutes (minions and Baal), on /p8.
It's not easy, I'm at lvl 97 now and am just over 1/3 of the way to 98, but it's a long struggle to get there. (this lvl, I've completed over 350 runs @ /p8 and am only a third of the way there.)
The thing is that to be successful you need to be able to consistantly do the runs quickly and survive.
I don't think I really understood the time it'd take when embarking on this project, sure I ran the figures and new how many runs, but the time commitment is huge.

Reborn, you got a hammerdin right? As far as I know thats a very effective and cheap build.

Up to lvl 93, on shedule, but only just. I got home from college today at about 4:30pm. Its now gone 10:30 and ive been playing non stop. Dont have time for the MP though, since i gotta go to bed in about a hour, and have otehr things to do (post here for 1..)
I'm out. BAH, I hate baalruns. I equipped my hammerdin with the best equip I could get. He deals 8k dmg... After getting a couple of NDE's while charging to the throne, I managed to get down there three times. Lister and his brothers **** me up all the time. And then it seemed to work and BAM FE death of the fucking Bartuc. PFF...

oooo somebody's grumpy. all it takes is a bit of skilled playing. for example. keep rolling until you get a really short WSK lvl 3 map and at least a relatively short WSK2 map. unless you MP then a sorc does it for you.
got something with teleport charges on switch and teleport onto the little throne thing near baal when lister spawns so only at a time can come at you and your merc. according to grogs it works
Maybe. But I will be the first who gives up anyway. I can tell you that. ESPECIALLY if I had to play the hammerdin... -.- You know what I'd enjoy? (well, maybe I only think I would enjoy it and I would change my mind afterwards ^^ [again]) A cool melee build! But I don't have decent endgame weapons... -.-

lol, it was a damn nice idea, but it fails due to some reasons: I thought about taking my lvl 91 javazon. She's a pindle runner, but I gave her my best equip like the facetted griffon's + facetted vipermagi. She really rules down the minions in no time at p8, but the problem is that she's focused on lightning. Actually noone of baal's minions is LI (I had only 1 time bartuc LI), but the souls are the problem. If they are in the wsk lvl 2 or 3, I run past them anyway, but if they're in the throne of destruction, I have to abort the run, because of no good method against them. You're not unskilled, it just takes some time to learn how to do the runs safetly. My hammerdin doesn't have 'uber' equipment by any stretch of the imaginationReborn2k said:

Now this is partly due to the minions having a lessened chance to hit you and your merc, but mostly due to you knowing what to do.
If you'd like, I'll take some screenies tonight of a typical run for my Hammerdin and post them to give you a few ideas on a safer way to run Baal.
Got to love the hammerdin bashing, I used to do it alot myself till I learned how to play him.
don't give up, you are the inventor of the convention! the game is very frustrating from time to time, but that's the game; every build has its weaknesses.
my hammerdin (L90) can't kill the minions on p8 too, if lister has a fanatism aura i get fucked up too, and i die very often because of fe bugged bosses. the reason why that chars isn't any higher is that i don't like hammerdins; of course, they can deal with almost every monster, and are very safe, but it's so gay standing in the middle of the monsters whirling your hammers, then using redemption afterwards BAH!
like you, i love melee builds, but there aren't any melee builds that can exp fast = do p8 runs (i dont know any, maybe a zealot with schaeffers, high cb and/or ds?).
i don't have any experiences with trapsins (but i like kicksins
), but my brother had one in 1.10 cattle.net. a very strong build, but dont max fire blast - it will be strong enough to kill LI just with maxed synergies.
