game down, we finished the whole game! its 6:12 am here, but it was it worth :D, i got my 7th pat/mat :D :xgift:

i'll do hellforge and then go to bed, of course i'll post what rune i got... :surprise:

edit: that took long. had a pi hephaistos, first i attracted him out of the hellforge and left him behind. after i'd cleared the hellforge, i noticed that i needed that hammer. after 23 mins of hard fighting (waiting for decryprify being cast, cry, wait, ....) i killed that damn pi hephaistos (he had a frostaura too which slowed the merc).
but it was it worth, i got an ist from hellforge...

Ouh, damn! I should have stayed with ya! :D Ah, but from act 3 to the end it doesn't take that long! :) Congrats on those runes! I hope I will get my first high rune from hellforge this time!

To all others: We agreed that the goal for the weekend after christmas is to pat/mat the chars. I dunno if we will play on christmas...
 
Damn, im still in act 1! i knew i shouldnt have gone out!
So, how many have gotten to Pat status? I might go through hell by myself, but its slow work at the moment, since ive pretty much got my blizz fisnihed, but i need to boost my backup skill (fireball) to be effective in hell.
I might ask reborn or someone to play mid week to allow others to catch up, see if we cant get more of us to Pat, which is when this project should get fun.

i can help you to get through the acts...but you'd have to host the game because i cant host any hell games atm in which you'd be able to quest...but we could exp in the cave e.g.
if my daggermancer beats nm i could host a hell game, rejoin with another char and we could mp...

I think only Nightfire and nobo have reached pat/mat status! Dunno about the others... I am at the beginning of act 3. I will have to see when I play him, dunno if I can play next week. I write the last test before christmas on monday and friday is already Christmas Eve. But actually I always find some time for D2... :teeth:
 
I cant host, but we could do open bnet (passworded), since then it doesnt matter how unreliable my connection is right? I'll try out act 1 (lots of CI's) and see how i do by myself first.
 
I got a Mal from Hellforge. Means I won't have to cube my 2 Ums to make an Ist, at least. ^_^ But anyway, I'm about to start the Convention Mat/Pat thread, so I'm letting everyone know now that when they make mat/pat, to post in that thread.

i think you're hosting in b-net too...that's why all that mods work in open b-net.:(
but we could at least give it a try, post or pm the name//pw and i'll try if i can join. :xsmile:

Did you play MP? I have played singleplayer: I just got the River of Flame WP. It's just unfair: Again a IO from hellforge. UM stays my highest rune... -.-
 
ahh, at last level 95. I must have done like 10+ hours of running this weekend. It was too much time in front of the computer, even for me. So I think I'll settle with 3 hours/day in the future. I did some serious calculations on that werebear idea too. I concluded that he would be able to do 70k damage average per second to a decrepified demon (not counting chance to hit in). That sounds mighty impressive in my ears, so maybe I'll try it out. I calculated 30 hours to level 96 with TheLastHero, which means 10 days. So if we MP next week he should be half way. That doesn't feel too comfortable, because of the risk that my dial-up kills him. I don't know what to do.

It's great to see that some of you are through now anyway.
 
bad luck reborn, don't worry, it can only get better ;). no, someday even you'll have some luck too...
kefir, give your dial-up a try, maybe your ping won't be that bad. L95 is great, in 1.10 its really hard to get this far.
@reborn: yes, we tried to mp, we cleared the den of evil together but then i got disconnected and couldn't connect again.
@bob: i've a char in middle of act3, maybe i can get him fast to hell, then could i host.

kefir: In MP with dial up you find that with some monsters loading (lister) or some skills being used (all the graphic intensive ones) that your lag spikes. I commonly go down to 3fps during a hell baal run when lister spawns. However, i play mainly casters, so lag isnt as much of a problem, but for melee if your getting a second lag then that could be enough to kill you outright, and lose a hell of a lot of XP.
So really it depends on how bad the ping is. When key monsters cause lag, stay back to begin with, and attack a bit after everyone else, it could be enough to get over the worst lag.

Hi elites and germs.

As anyone who reads any of my posts realizes, I play very little D2 these days. :) Still I have a few higher level characters I wouldn't terribly object in joining up to play with some, if invited. Preferred probably my 87 paladin (zealot, with some avenger thrown in) or perhaps 83 hybridazon. I have an 81 fw/orb sorc too but haven't finished hell (got sick of dying to FE crap in act 3.) If I could help and would be invited for some games, I'd love to see SPers in action (I've unfortunately not played much MP with the members of this forum in the past.)
