Quiet entry into the WSK, but not for long...
Vile Witches! The kind that scatter and amp. Looks like Cosmo and pals will be Cursed the whole level.
I teased them over, so ravens could shut them down. We also attracted Soul Killers (melee flayers) and their shamen, blinding and killing them near the entrance. So far so good.
The wolves chose a path, and I followed, into the first wing. A massive onslaught hit my pets, killing them, and I saw a flash of Fanaticism. I pulled back, and the first boss pack followed:
Dragon Killer defilers. A second boss flew in, a witch sporting the fanat aura and also named
Dragon Killer! :confused2: Weird. Some boss names are pretty common (like Vile Bender the Axe...) but I've never seen two consecutive like that. Guess it was bound to happen. DK#2 flew away to save her skin, past the entrance deep into unexplored area. I let her go, for now...
Those boss packs were only the tip of the iceberg. Boss pack 3 was a pack of
CE Might Defilers, joined quickly by a fourth boss pack (defilers again) in a
huge mob. Wow, a quadruple boss pack! A few steps later, another
boss pack. lol, bring 'em on!
We finished that wing, and moved to the next, where I saw DK#2 fly into. There she is, and there she goes... getting past me again into the third unexplored wing. I stayed in the middle wing and finished it easily, encountering only a handful of witches and a
weak defiler pack. I'm still doing mostly p7. I'm sure I won't hit level 89, but I want to maximize my drops because as a single-pass player, I don't get to see Hell WSK drops very often.
Final wing, I caught up with DK#2
yet again. She backed off, lending her aura to LE Extra Strong flayers which promptly
killed the wolves/merc in the time it took to grab the screenie. (Speak of the devil, it's boring ol' Vile Bender the Axe). Nothing can stand up to Cursed/Fanat/Extra Strong. I had to run out the main door and regroup.
We got DK#2 on our next attempt, pinning her in a corner. At last, WSK1 is safe for dragons...
Boss#8 was a shaman. I gave him a wide berth, respectful of his long-range
Inferno.
