they are good kids. don't want to upset them.

when my brother was doing his basic military training and on the sleep depravation part of the course. during a lecture on escape and evasion an instructor snuck in the back of the room and starting shooting blanks (from his gun). the guy giving the lecture hurled himself out of the window about 8 feet off the ground to demonstrate good technique.

The trick is to prank them so that they think they know who it was, but cannot prove it. So when they try to go to sleep and their pillowcase is full of mayonnaise, they think it was Pancake but they can't be sure.

That is a good tactic though, but then you don't get as much satisfaction out of it.

Leave notes at the crime scene. Little things to taunt them. Drop references to mayonnaise in conversation in the best completely innocent voice you can muster. Toy with their minds.

Perhaps they are worse actors? Then, just when they think they've got you figured out, have someone else prank them while you are with them, so that it could not have been you who did it.

I don't do a lot, I have to be pranked first to prank someone. It is never cool to just nail someone who doesn't deserve it. But if they do deserve it...:evil:
A couple of dudes up on the third floor pulled the fire alarm at 1:45 AM with the first of the day's finals at 8 that same day. Half the dorm had a final at 8. Nobody was very happy. I, with the blessing of my friend, the third floor RA, tied their doorknob to the doorknob of the uninhabited room across the hall. Much merriment was had by all.

That's a real douchebag thing of them to do. It's so not cool that it almost doesn't deserve a return prank.
