Re: Classic OT thread

You can tell by the fact that the picture icon doesn't appear on the quick reply box.

I don't think I can change it.

Re: Classic OT thread

Eh doesn't really matter.

I did notice that, I usually just type the tags though :p

Re: Classic OT thread

You searched through kegs friends to find a karaokeing handsome blond dude?

And yes yes.. I know not one, but two super secret code languages that you guys can't understand.

Re: Classic OT thread

Doesn't count.

try translating this in google translate:

Min nabo har musvit men hvorfor er der en hane på mit æsel?

It means: My neighbour has musvit (a bird) but why is there a c*ck (the bird) on my donkey.

Seems fine to me. :p

Google does make for some interesting translations though.

It usually gets the point across at least.

Re: Classic OT thread

Yes, when you write very simple stuff, it can be handy. But that's really all :) of course learning languages is a bigger deal when you aren't using english as your native language.

I feel bad for people who have to learn English as their second language, it has some Really stupid rules in it.

Re: Classic OT thread

Compared to a lot of other languages it is really simple. +most of the internet, music, tv and stuff is in english. so it's quite natural.

Re: Classic OT thread

an example:

in english you can put a or an in front of a noun.

in german you can put der, die, das, des, den or dem in front of a noun.

edit: that was actually wrong. you use der, die, das...... as you use "the" and not a/an. when you use a/an in german it can be ein, einer, eine, einem, einen, or eines.

I see your point, I always hated conjugating verbs in Spanish.

There is always some stupid exception to a rule though, that's why it's tough to master English.

Re: Classic OT thread

there is in most languages :)

and yes, I agree that it is hard to master, but it is rather easy to learn enough to communicate clearly.

Yes the abundance of media and places to practice English certainly help a lot.

There are plenty of places for me to practice Spanish around here, that's why I know enough to communicate.
