What I'm Now Doing in Place of D2

I've gotten several PMs about why I quit, and what I'm doing now in the time I used for D2, so I'll answer them right here. I quit because the game got boring - simple as that.

Right now, in place of D2, I've continued my hobby of writing short stories here and there when I get inspired, and I'm currently working on a Sr. Thesis that I'll be submitting sometime in April 2008. O, and I've also begun selling a lot of crap that's been lying around the house on eBay - mostly a lot of my accumulated junk, but also a lot of ceramic figures and other old collectibles my parents had and don't want anymore.

I hope that answers some people who've been asking where I went.

Do you have any short stories published? Or could you share a couple? :D

Good luck on your Thesis, how long is it supposed to be?

Good Luck RL :D

Nah, my short stories will stay on my computer until I decide to publish them in my own book someday.

And as for my thesis, it has to be 25 pages of double-spaced, Arial, 12 point font. It's mostly a BS paper I have to write in order to graduate as an Honor's Student from college.

I had no idea who Blood for Blood is...so I looked it up.

Outside my Genre's  I could point the way if it came to Progressive Metal though

blood for blood would be boston punk rock

what is progressive metal?
do you know any metal bands with energy in their music? but please, no sonata arctica or whatever (this is power metal, right?)

Prog Metal is (from what I gather) metal with really complex showoffy guitar (e.g. Dream Theater) but i'm not a prog guy. I'm more of a Death and Doom guy.

Yeah, Dream Theater is one of the more popular Prog Metal bands, but not the best IMO. I am not much a fan of Death metal etc...I much prefer Clean vocals.

Maybe you should give "Death From Above 1979" a listen.
With their song "Romantic Rights", preferably with the clip, since it's fun to see somebody playing that instrument like that.

That's not metal, that's indie hipster trash.

If you want metal bands with energy...
Agorophobic Nosebleed (grindcore/cybergrind)
Cryptic Slaughter (crossover thrash)
Darkest Hour (melodic death metal)
Dark Tranquillity (melodic death metal)
Death (technical death metal)
Destruction (thrash)
Detonation (melodic death metal)
Exodus (thrash)
Kreator (thrash)
Krisiun (brutal/technical death metal)
Napalm Death (grindcore)
Nasum (grindcore)
Sodom (thrash)
Symphony X (progressive metal)
Testament (thrash)
The Acacia Strain (hardcore, but heavy and energetic)

For an alternative to Blood For Blood
Agnostic Front (hardcore punk)
Bury Your Dead (hardcore)
God Forbid (thrash/metalcore)
Job For A Cowboy (hardcore/death metal)
Madball (hardcore/crossover thrash/hardcore punk)
Murphy's Law (hardcore punk)
Terror (hardcore)
The Turbo ACs (hardcore punk)
Two Man Advantage (punk)
Unearth (metalcore)

I've only heard of Symphony X, which happens to be one of my top two favorite bands. Any others on that list that have Clean Vocals? I really dislike the death vocal style.

I never said it was. :)

Yeah, it does have a 'Thrash' sound to it.
I can't quite place the 'hipster' part as a catagory, are the bands you listed in the metal hipster thrash catagory ? Or does that have to do with hips shacking rather then heads banging ?

I said trash, not thrash.

These have clean vocals, though Testament have used many styles, Chuck Billy has an amazing voice.

My resident music(GF) expert confirmed your findings to the letter(indie hipster trash), agreed with your list and suggested the optional adding of "Edge of Sanity"
Oh well, shows I'm no music expert. :)

Dan Swanö is great, but EoS aren't that great. Bloodbath are much better.

Anyone get the new Futurama disk for Christmas? Any thoughts on whether it'll be back on the air like Family Guy? They seem to hint in it that they've been renewed.

That's strange timing. I drew my avatar in paint like yesterday.

I think they're going to be having new episodes. There's a futurama marathon on tv right now. But I doubt it'll ever be really a long running series again. It is my favorite, though.
