Classic OT thread

Anyone know if there is any trash metal band that plays with no vocals? I always thought that could turn out cool.

Don't know if anyone listens to Dream Theater. I like some of their earlier stuff. Download their song Pull Me Under for a sample.

Hey! I must have accidentally left DT off my list of music that I listen to. Dream Theater is one of my absolute favorite bands. "Pull Me Under" is an excellent choice to turn people into DT fans. There are many many other songs that I'd recommend as well though, but that would be a huge list. :thumbsup: You could also look at the side project band "Liquid Tension Experiment", features the members of DT minus the singer, plus Tony Levin of King Crimson fame, all instrumentals =)

On a side note. If anyone is not too familiar with the band Tool (my fave band), I HIGHLY suggest you listen to the song "Lateralus" This song ranks up in the top couple songs of all time for me. It is freaking amazing, and the whole album as a whole is utterly fantastic.

Can't think of any who don't have a vocalist, but there are plenty of songs with no vocals. I've been listening through all the Kreator CDs today, gotta love em. And I don't like DT because James LaBrie sounds like a *****.



 
Never been here before, but if there are metalheads then I feel right at home!

Some of my favourite bands:
Behemoth, Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse and Dimmu Borgir just to name some of the more popular ones. I like power metal and stuff too. Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Helloween, it's all good. Grindcore has been a personal favourite of mine ranging from old Cannibal Corpse to stuff like Goratory or Amputated.
 
Blood Tsunami is a pretty badass new band from Oslo, with Faust on drums. Behemoth is good, Inferno's a beast. I don't like Dimmu or Arch Enemy, I never got into them too much., but truly, the greatest band is Death. RiP Schuldiner.

Sadly three of those four bands have started sucking pretty badly, though they were all pretty good at one point. Behemoth still make good music, but they were terrible live.
As far as grindcore goes, Cannibal Corpse were never grindcore, they've always been brutal death metal. Chris Barnes sucked horribly, though George Fisher held it down for a while, I don't like the stuff they've been doing for a while. I've also been told I look like George Fisher far too many times.

I heard one song by Blood Tsunami and it was pretty bad. They could pass off as a Dethklok side project.
But Death are the greatest band ever.

I actually like mose of their new stuff, and I just really like all of Behemoth's stuff, although Zos Kia Kultas might be my favourite album of theirs. Sad to hear the Behemoth sucked live, since I've always wanted to see them perform.
I like old and new Cannibal Corpse though, even though pretty much everyone says Barnes was terrible.

Back then it was the style and the music that carried them, not Barnes' vocals. Also note that one of the, if not the, most popular Barnes era CC songs was actually Glen Benton doing vocals.

Out of boredom today, I made a NM game with my mf sorc named 'Brg 3soc Shield." As I waited for people to come, I did Mephy just because there wasn't anything else to do. Lo and behold, he drops a unique ring....

Anyone ever been to Vegas? I just got back from there...business trip. Still was fun though. I went there about 5 years ago as well, and now it is even more about money money money. Very few places actually have cheap food, like it used to be. You pretty much have to go to Old Vegas to get that kind of stuff.

Anyways, I stayed at the MGM Grand, which has enough to do to keep a person busy for a while. After 3 days there though, I was ready to come home, you can only take so much....

I have returned~!!!

After a 3 year break I am back to playing D2.

How it happened? I don't know.

I played the game between 2000-2004 or so, then moved on to more advanced games as time went on. Suddenly here now towards the end of 2007 I find myself back into the game, heavily addicted.

It may have something to deal with the fact that my two younger brothers, Edd and Grant, are now both young teenagers, and that I, just happened to sent up a geek-o-rific LAN center with 3 godlike computers in our parents basement, and that I bought three fresh copies of d2, and that I got them heavily, heavily addicted to the game overnight. (I know d2 doesn't require godlike PC's but overkill never hurts)

In any case, I am now playing again, and although I have a fun time playing with my two brothers in private games I wouldnt mind playing with another community as well. Basically I am looking for some friends to boss rush with and chill with.

I play USEAST Diablo 2 Classic. I'm Ladder for now with the fresh characters. I had a full account of 99's before I retired back in the day so I still know most of everything, just a bit rusty.

This forum have any clans or groups or what have you, for that sort of thing?
