Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hi guys. I'm having an issue with trying to transfer my ATMA stashes over to my new computer.

Old computer - XP
New Computer - Windows 7

Basically, I copied my ATMA folder from my old computer to my external HD. Then I copied it from the ext HD to my new computer. I then ran ATMA on my new computer and it starts ok. I went to Configuration and set the path to my ATMA folder. But when I try to open a stash, it says it can't access it and removes it from the list (doesn't delete the file - just removes it from the list in-program).

I have tried running as admin and also checked the stash files to see if they were write-protected (they weren't).

I don't want to start on my grail all over again. Any ideas?

BTW, Diablo 2 runs ok on my new machine, and I was able to bring over my characters - just no stashes.

Try using File-Load (.d2x) file
Once the file is loaded click on the D2X tab in the upper right. Your stashes should be listed in there. You might also want to try placing it on your desktop instead of inside your Program Files folder. Also did you place it in the 'Program Files' folder or 'Program Files (x86)' folder. ATMA is a 32 bit application not 64 bit, so it should go in this, (x86), folder instead. The same folder that Diablo 2 is installed in.

If this does not work try seeing if it copied correctly, copy them again. You might want to try GoMule and see if it can open the stashes. If you try GoMule tells us any of the errors you get. You can still open your characters in ATMA right? This is the most up to date version of ATMA right, 1.13 right? If not download the most current release from the front page and copy your stashes into there and see if that works.

Good luck. I do not use ATMA anymore it is almost exclusively GoMule for me so hope this helps. Sorry for the out of order questions. I just typed them as they came to me.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Try not to place your shash files in a subfolder of Program Files; those are (by default) write-protected and may cause you the problems. I personally save my stashes in /Diablo 2/saves/Stashes.

That worked! Stashes are back online. Thanks for the help.

I put the whole ATMA install in my User folder (/game stuff/computer games/diablo2).

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Quick question regarding GoMule: I know it works with 1.13, but has the dropcalc been updated with the rune rune drop rates and how act bosses now drop essences (and therefore potentially altering the odds for all other item drops)?

I don't see the essences listed in the dropcalc (admittedly, I'm a relatively new user of GoMule and JUST figured out how to see runes), someone on a speed run forum said that Countess on /p1 has a 1-in-8 chance to drop a Tal while GoMule says it's 1-in-5 (the 1.11 ATMA dropcalc says the same as GoMule...), AND the GoMule Docs on silo's page was last written on Aug. 7, 2009.

Have I missed something? Or has the dropcalc not been modified to reflect the changes 1.13 brought? I've got Version0.3: Donkey. Is there a more recent version OR a way to manually update?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

You have to use Atomic TC to search for them. I haven't looked into the code (might do that some time) to see why they don't auto-populate into the "Misc Items" selection.

Here are the respective Atomic TC's for the given bosses:
Code:
    Boss TC
Andariel/Duriel tes
Mephisto ceh
Diablo bet
Baal fed

No amount of MF will change the odds of an essence dropping from a specific boss, only total players in the game (the lower the no-drop chance, the more likely an essence drops).

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I Have this error ATMA:

Skipping stash item with code: tes

This happened when I try to put "Twisted Essense of Suffering" in a differnt stash since I got two of them from Andy and Duriel.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

First post in this thread:
ATMA - Installer download - guide
To get the Essences to show correctly in 1.13 download and install Misc1.13cATMA.7z and atma_gfxATMA1.13c.zip (both zip files). Replace the originals which come with the installer. Keep Tokens and Essences on Characters not Stashes in ATMA
GoMule - download and guide - The latest version of GoMule is here which works with 1.13.
Silo's home page with other stuff :p Tokens and Essences work fine in characters and stashes in GoMule

Essences corrupt the ATMA stash. Hope you've got backups :O

First post in this thread:

Essences corrupt the ATMA stash. Hope you've got backups :O

Unfortunately it corrupted my whole Misc (Quest) stash.

I don't have backup because I disable the "Auto Backup" function.

Anyway, most of the item there are obtainable by questing...

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I thought that you could just get the patch (on first page) and then the stash was fine, I didn't think it was a permanent ruination of a stash. Or that you could use GoMule, as it has no issues with essences.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Cant get the GoMule to run properly, It just gives an error stating: Could not find the main class: "where it is placed." Program will exit.

Any help here:)?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

@Seeder: It sounds like the Java VM is trying to find GoMule in the .jar file and can't. You can open up the .jar file (it's just a .zip file with a different name) and check and make sure that there is a META-INF directory with a MANIFEST.MF file in it and a gomule directory with a GoMule.class file in it.

Another thing you could check is to make sure you have the latest version of GoMule and Java. If none of that helps, we'll probably need more information to figure out what the problem is (what os you're running, which version, how exactly you're trying to start it, etc.).

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Okey, I can start to say that this is not the first time i had problems running a Jar file that refuses to open.

I checked and sure everything is there as it should.
Edit there is some other type of java program that i can open it with and then it just creates a short CMD popup that closes almost instantly.

I pretty much downloaded and then dubble clicked it, I use Windows 7, 64 bits

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Does GoMule have the corruption problem with Essences and Keys like Atma has?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I really don't know why anyone would still use ATMA. Even if you're use to it, GoMule is so much easier to use and its stash sort function blows ATMA's crappy tree/list thing away.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

@hubb - The only reason I can think of is pre-1.10 versions. I'm in contact with silospen right now, but I'm looking to make it so GoMule can read the pre-1.10 versions of D2 characters; hopefully I can make some progress on that front in decent time.

There's also the ATMA-bugging, but it's not like you need to use ATMA to sort everything if that's your thing.

Some people are just comfortable with what they know, however, even if something else comes along. I can't really fault anyone for still using ATMA; but I definitely can't understand why either.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

GoMule also has way faster load times.

Still, I don't like that, when you drop an item in a GoMule stash, GoMule doesn't automatically scroll to that item. I only wish to keep items with the better roll, so I want to compare with what I already had.

Other than that and what Mattinm said, with all respect to ATMA's developer(s), GoMule is simply superior.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I've gotten GoMule to read/write 1.09 characters and items. I'm doing some tweaking and I'll be sending a patch on to silospen (haven't heard from him since asking a few questions).

I won't be posting the link directly, until silospen accepts my modifications, but if anyone would like to help me test, send me a PM. Remember that it's still a work in progress, so I highly recommend using backup saves to test.

Now time to dig up the 1.07 character/item formats.
