RWM help on 1.12 patch

In need of your help:

I have recently gotten a new computer (with Vista if that matters) and had to reinstall D2 on it. I then copied all my items from ATMA over to it. My problem is that trying to reinstall RWM/RRM doesn't work on it. I cannot make any new ladder only runewords with new characters, but can use ones already made from previous computer (and characters) and transferred over to new comp (the Edge bow I made previously works with full benefits, but trying to remake one only says I have a gemmed bow). I have even uninstalled and reinstalled RWM/RRM twice and still getting the same result. Neither time have the runes turned Red from the mod either.

I'm kinda confused because I have never had this much problem installing these mods. Has anyone else had this problem? What do you suggest I do?

Ahh, vista and windows 7 the love of my life. If you have a previous install from your old computer, why not just copy the folder to a USB drive and put it in your my documents folder and that way it should be all ready for you to go, since 1.12 was a nocd patch it should just run from the folder no problem. Even if it is from an XP install.

If you do not have your previous install available and you are alright with not having Diablo 2 installed in your program files directory install Diablo 2 instead say in your my documents folder that may help solve your problem. It may be the permissions that your user level have been given. Try running as an admin and see if it helps as well. The above change of install folder should solve your problem as well as running as an administrator. Both have the same effect.

If that does not help or you do not want to install it anywhere else please post a pic of your shortcuts properties and your directory structure. This will help us see if you set it up right.

I'd like to try this maybe as a last resort, because I don't want to lose anything I already have. I don't play much anymore and the thought of losing all my characters/ATMA stash, etc would probably make me quit

Okay how about just copying NOT cutting the Diablo 2 folder over to your my documents folder and try running it from there. That should also solve your problem. It will take a little bit depending on your system specs, but not too long to copy the folder.

Also where are your pics of your folders and shortcut I requested? Did you also try running as an administrator? Or are you at work/school or something that I should expect these later?

Edit: Glad to hear it worked for you. Hope you do not mind having two copies of Diablo 2 on your hard drive. Now that the new one is working you might consider deleting the old one in the program files folder if you are running out of hard drive space. It should not change anything, but if you'd like you could just leave it til you run out of space then just cut and paste it to say the desktop and see if your my documents copy still runs without it and then you know it is safe to delete.

Sorry for the delay I was busy day at work and didn't have use of my computer. Not the most tech save person around, but your second explanation was clearer to me IMO. Got home and worked like a charm (still not used to vista yet). Thanks again

Is there anyway to get a flavie report up if I use a Mac?

Unless I'm mistaken since flavie is now built into GoMule, it should be compatible with a Mac. Just open up GoMule and click on 'Proj Flavie Report'. That button should create a .html file that you can open up in Safari or FireFox.

That is unless GoMule calls a separate .exe and uses that. That is the only thing that would make it incompatible with a Mac. Sorry if I'm wrong, but I do not have a Mac.

GoMule knows nothing of any .exe files, so this should work fine.

so i click on project then i click on preferences. it brings up all the criteria fro the report (name, what to look for, stash, char, ect. btu where do i find the report so i can post it on this site to sell off some items.

ddkknoll, you don't need to change anything in preferences.
Click the "Project Flavie" button on the lower left (below your character and stash list), a html file will be generated and a message will tell you where it is.

If you want to trade on SPF, read the forum rules carefully and create a trader profile before posting on the trade forum.

I tried to make Infinity this morning but it didn't work.
The spirit's I made ARE working, though.
Uninstalled everything and now reinstalling again,
hope it works.
but what if it doesn't?
any known/related issue?

I think I have a corrupted ATMA stash. The last time I could open it it gave a strange error message related to not being able to read an item (i think). It came up twice. When I then tried to manually save the stash it crashed ATMA. The stash file is then listed at 0kb, and it cannot open. If I restore from the .org file, the same problem occurs. If I don't manually save the, file goes to 0kb and won't open.

Anyway to get this back?

First thought is that maybe you picked up an essence and don't have the update, but you said its a stash, so maybe thats not it.

Make sure you are using a polearm not a spear, and you are using a normal item, not jewelry's magic item. Finally double check the order of runes.

First thought is that maybe you picked up an essence and don't have the update, but you said its a stash, so maybe thats not it.

Ah...I did just find 2 essences from Duriel, that I dumped into the broken stash, and 2 items are being flagged. Is there a repair for this?

OK, I've got the latest version I just missed the big underlined sentence in the install thread about "don't keep essences and tokens in ATMA stashes"

So I'll try going back to the .org file and see if I can fix it by muling off the essences.

EDIT: Yeah it was the essences. Was able to restore back to an older stash back up and get the corrupted loot off of a character backup file. Thanks again.

Here is a quote from my previous posts so I just copied it and pasted it here. You should be able to follow the steps for GoMule twice, instead of the steps for ATMA, in order to transfer the gold.

To change the amount in your ATMA stash to 0(zero) you open up your ATMA_CONFIG folder inside there should be a file called, ATMA_config.ini Open this file with your text editor (use Notepad) and under the header [Data] there should be a listing of bank_funds= Write this number down and change it to 0. So that the line reads bank_funds=0 Save the file and close up Notepad. You can now open and check ATMA to see if the gold is now indeed 0 in ATMA.

Now for GoMule
***Be sure it is closed before trying this***
Go into your projects folder and look for a file called project.properties (NOT projectS.properties, no plural on project, the file you want should be, one folder under the folder that holds that file). This file can be opened with a text editor as well (Notepad). There is a line for bank= just use a calculator to add the amount that is there with the amount of ATMA gold you written down earlier using a calculator. Then type in the total amount to the right of the equal sign (=) Close the file and open GoMule, your new gold amount should be displayed in GoMule correctly.

Example if you had 1000 in GoMule and transferred 1000 gold from ATMA. Your amount looks like this bank=2000
