Title in reference to this thread.
So, in the past I accumulated a little wealth and made some not quite standard characters with it but I hadn't really ever done most of the "standard" builds. Didn't really worry me when I decided to give everything away and leave (I knew more or less how they would play and it didn't really make a lot of sense to me to make builds everybody knew when I had the resources to do off-the-wall things) but things do change. Sometimes... we play sequels.
I decided to give Diablo 3 another go several days ago. I played it for about a month when it first came out (and before - I was one of those "I got all the achievements in the beta, do I get a cookie?" people), had a lot of fun but in the end left it sitting on my desktop for a long, long time. Finally I figured, "it's been almost a year, let's see how much better it is now" and I must admit they have improved the game a fair bit to my mind, but still what I get most from playing D3 is a real desire to play Diablo 2. The game's a ton of fun and definitely Blizzard quality, but it just so very clearly was not developed for me and the way I enjoy playing.
So I figured I'd poke around a bit at the SPF and waxed nostalgic. Saw a thread about AT running and waxed nostalgic hard. Then I looked at the Mat/Pat/Guardian thread, to see what people had been up to (hoping to find the Frenzied Zealbarb replacing the Fishymancer as "char everybody owns;" I am disappoint :/) and was struck by just how much love people have for their cookie cutters. Also, by some real gems like this one I just can't resist sharing (though I imagine most of you remember it). I've always enjoyed THC's characters, but I'm more used to seeing Demon Arches put to amazing use so the top-end optimizing floored me. Maybe 1.13 isn't as bad as I originally felt, years ago...
Anyway, after the reading around and the nostalgia I decided I did want to give those cookie cutters I never got around to a go (also that I honestly miss doing AT runs, but that's probably more a manifestation of a brain condition than anything else...) so I started a new sorceress. I had a level 25 Fishymancer sitting around I started after I originally tired of D3 but parked (I hate Normal. So. Very. Much.) who provided what could loosely be termed twinking gear. EasePease will very soon pass level 21 (notice the attempted reassurance in the name? I'm not kidding; I hate Normal) and can finally begin making extensive use of teleport (remember how much I hate Normal? I love teleport twice that amount - I still fondly remember my Teleport/Fireball Warrior from Diablo 1) so the hardest part has passed.
I don't intend to reach my former level of wealth (but you never know...) or to win any more MFOs (though I only need, what, four more for most all-time? :scratchchin: :crazyeyes but I will definitely dig in for a few magic finding sessions from time to time. Without all those leet itamz I don't feel much compulsion to figure out and do strange builds, so it'll probably just be boring stuff (apologies to anybody seeing my return and expecting multiple crazy septs already in the works [also, sextet or bust; paladins are the suck]). That said, with the 1.13 drop odds it shouldn't take more than an hour or so in Hell to best my previous rune wealth, so who really knows what may open up.
Anyway, I don't know if anybody around now actually remembers me (or if anyone I remember is still around), but whether so or whether no, love to all of ya for reading and just in general for keeping this place running and awesome. I'll see you folks in the IFT and in some Mat/Pat/Guardian threads.
(And, no, this isn't just a plot on my part to finish off my thread septumvirate [Introduction, IFT, OT, Sept, Giveaway, Goodbye, Return]. I don't even know how you could think such a thing...)
Since I know some folks dun liek to read...
tl;dr: I was gone. Now I'm back. Hai!

Nothing useful here, just notes to myself about old stats because the search is borked for old posts (note to me, I'm only 100% on the AT runs ... least certain on the Pindle runs).
-20,000 AT runs
-4,000 LK runs (best rune: Gul)
-1,000 Baal runs
-1,200-1,500 Pit runs
-10,000 Pindle runs
-literally no clue on Meph. Guess of 1,500 - 2,000. Last known count was 1k.
Best rune: Sur (Travincal), second best: Gul.
Best rolls:
-Griffon's: Perfect
-Mara's: Perfect
-Death's Fathom: 27%
-Death's Web: +1, -43%
-Fortitude: worst
-JMoD: existence
Grail: -6
-Mang Song's Lesson
-Cow King's Horns
-The Cranium Basher
-Torch of Iro
-Herald of Zakarum
-Level-up Cold Facet
