So it wasn't a 1.07 obviously, but I picked up a 4os Eth Feral Axe while questing the other day... and for the first time ever, D2 crashed on me. Apparently it didn't save the last two minutes of playing, so bye bye Axe. :(

Screenie for those who like them:

Swings like a Phase blade, hits like a Thunder Maul! Berserkeress here we come. :)

too bad zerk is the one skill that sorcs can't take huge advantage of (masteries) :(

Still, excited to see what you do with it

True, but it need not stop with the Berserkeress! Scanning the pat/mat compilation and seeing Maareek's (and others) use of the Passion Runeword (frenzied Zealbarb, Titan Berserker Druid, Zealot w.no points in Zeal) has made me think I'll certainly get some fun mileage out of this weapon. Passion is a bit cooler of a runeword than I thought at first glance.

frenzy will probably be too tedious since you'd need a wep swap but the rest seem cool

Right, that only works with dual wield, which you can't do with axes, but I was more just surprised at the cool things people can do with that runeword. IIRC maareek used Death/Passion in a BA to hit max Zeal with Death.

Currently running LK on the advice of someone from my Guardian thread. So far, I've found a Vex and a Sur. I found a map with two bonfires in a linear fashion SUPER close to the WP. I'm just hitting the three chests at each one. I keep hearing about this dead body that yields a ber. I haven't found one to pop yet.

Anyway, I'm messing around on battle.net with some friends right now so I won't be leveling a new character anytime soon for SP. I've done a lot of reading on LK running and see that people have made countless threads about 10k goals, etc. Well, I decided since my semester is winding down right now, I'll shoot for 10k. I'm impatient, so I won't bother running LK unless I can sit there and commit to at least 300 in one sitting. It really doesn't take that long considering how close everything is. The longest part is when I run out of keys and have to shop some in Act 4. I couldn't find a tournament thread so I figured I'd just post that here with my Sur and Vex (which was made into a HotO that I now regret).

If you are going to do 10k, I'd suggest getting a map with all 6 chests in a loop--less transition time.

Also, I've found the key (har har) to LK running is to develop a habit of rapidly snapping up the keys that drop from the chests. I do this and I never have to shop for keys.

EDIT: I haven't heard that a corpse can drop a Ber. Even if one did, you might be better of spending your time popping the chests. I do hit one skeleton on my LK runs, but only because I always land right on it with my teleport pattern. It often drops flawless gems, and definitely runes up to Fal. Perhaps a Pul once?

chest drops are up to ber, just as ANY objects are in A3 Hell, which is why a skeleton can drop them. However, it's almost certainly more efficient to skip the skeleton unless your runs are super inefficient already (like 40+ sec)

and it may have been a typo but there are definitely 6 chests if two campfires. You said you were only hitting 3 of them

Also going to vouch for picking up keys and stuff if you see them. I'm not sure if it's more efficient or not (should be very close) but it certainly feels better than running out eventually
