This new helm grid is based on Shaft.ed's old grid [post=2474340]here[/post] and all the helm runeword attempts since posted in this forum. I do not have Excel so if anyone who does have it notices any differences between this grid and the Excel helm grid, please let me know.

I am testing in helms so I will do my best to keep this updated and posted regularly at least once a week.

I have been thinking about those new runewords that were added during or after 1.10 came out. We might start expecting possibly some results once we get into a bit higher runes. If we would have been testing those runewords then we would not have been finding anything before we started using Lem runes (Passion). Then when 4 new runewords were released we would have not found anything before using Lum runes. I sure hope they have at least one 2 socket runeword among those 23 they have released.

Another thing worth pondering is that last time when runewords were published those used many runes not commonly used before in runewords. Well most of them. If I would be designing new runewords I would make sure to use those not so valuable runes like Lo and Sur in runewords that do not require other runes above Vex. Meaning if one finds any of those runes they can within reasonable time make a runeword out of it.

The sad part is that we really need some clues to crack more complex runewords or finding some pattern that all new runewords follow like certain type of acronyms. I remember Kenny-Z asking about how does the hunt go in other forums. We could probably take some calculations shown here and post it there with additional calculation of how much time is required to test all those combinations.
 
ral-el in a short staff : gemmed srry that i cant test em faster and higer but i can only do some normal countes runes with my very low lvl necro so i will take a Extremly long time before i can get to the higher stuff il be lucky if i get to lvl 70+ before the end of the ladder ^^
 
I got a couple of guys looking for things to do. They could help with some hell cows... I Hope... Look up *biglou7 usually on USWEST in the PM, I have a decent hammerdin and a trapper that I'd like to muck with, plus a skelymancer, that can all play with cows. not crazy quick like, but they should be able to kill some cows....<crosses fingers>

This is my first post in this thread, I'm eager for you fellows to find some new rune words, so I may as well help as I can. As long as there are no pick bots. I freakin hate pick bots
 
Im willing to help test stuff and try untried runewords.
In fact, I cant wait to do it.
However, I dont have excel, and have so far been unable to find a free alternative to MS excel.

If any of you know where to find one, id appreciate it greatly.

im on eu soft ladder as well... mabye we could do some runs together although i dont got a high lvled ladder char :( (lvl 16 necro) but if you got something from that same lvl or something we can do some runs if you want or if you need chipped gems to cube those lower runes contact me on *Killer.Comic or *Basic.Comic
 
Ah well, Im lvl 90-ish, so that wouldnt really work I think, its not the problem that I dont have people to run with, but I just dont know which words have been tried out ;)
 
since im still in normal i havent had much i could test that wasnt already done. but i did do
Tal-El-Tir in a breast plate, needless to say its gemmed.
as of right now i test every socketed thing i find that i can with my low runes. i noticed sol hasnt been used alot for helms, i have a few amns right now so soon i should be able to cube me some sols.

Re: cow runs: We have definitely had a good number of people state their willingness/desire to do cow runs. Although my to-do list for the thread is getting pretty long, I'll try to put together a short list for each realm of players who've stepped up for cow-killing. I think Cheetah and Dawns_Requiem hooked up for about 7 runs last night, although rune pickings were slim.

Remlin, Ghist, AltoZone, tlaloc, Cheetah, Fragtil: Thanks for all the tests (especially Ghist, throwing down the Lems and Fals!), which are all logged and posted.

Cheetah, part 2: I'll check your ascii grid against the Excel file at some point today (see above about my to-do list ;) ).

Ghist: Very good points. And hopefully you're right about us getting into paydirt area at Lum+. I'll go back through InsaneFarmer's positional analysis list to look at runes that haven't been used much rather than those that have.

Daelbeth: I believe MS Works also reads Excel files, but I'm not sure, and I'm also not sure it's free. I'll check to see if the file can be saved to a text document. In the meantime, Cheetah has posted an ascii version of the helms grid above, so you could at least test helms.

Gotta run into a meeting. More later.

the computer im using now doesnt even have works so i did alittle looking and i found this it has a spreadsheet that works, the only real down side is alot of other needless programs and everytime you launch it it asks if you want to countine to use the free version or buy it. give it a shot though. you can always uninstall it.

basic i may provide you with some softcore ladder necro stuff (not much i guess) and i may help you a bit with leveling, but i won´t have much time till friday or saturday.

Then i have a lot of time for about two weeks; i intend to do some runetesting/cowrunning/helping then

any help is apricieited (yeye my english sucks ^^) and i dont really need items mostly i find them myself but the boost or small boost that i can use and i can give you something for return on NL if you want nothing extreme but some lower but still usefull items anyway thx alot :thumbsup: cheers :drink:
