23 Runeword Search Thread

hi. i've been reading this topic for few days now and i'd be glad to help. i haven't played in awhile but i restarted up in uswest 3 days ago. i currently have a sorc able to do nm countess runs for runes and such. but i'll mostly try out that soj finding technique that you can find on purediablo.com. finding sojs might be quicker to get those high runes (my opinion cause i found one today hehe) my account is the same as this name here and i play hardcore ladder. i play at random times but mostly in the afternoon (pacific time)

(sorry for the double post. the edit button disappeared) (also, my random guesses are those in wathombe's spread sheet that has not been filled in yet) (if i'm doing something wrong, in these posts or how i'm testing (maybe not all normal caps) please someone tell me)

also, i was wondering sometimes the words aren't as complicated as we think. i've noticed a few obvious ones that will most likely fail but is cool. take Cham rune and Ber rune and you get the english word Chamber. or Hel rune and Lo rune and you get yourself a greeting. :evil:
 
Woot, a HUGE congratulations on all the progress guys!

I'm back, and my Pure offensive Lightning sorceress is almost ready, she just needs levels and an Arachnids Mesh. I will be doing tons of NM/Hell Countess Runs to fund the search further.

I'm on USEAST Ladder, and if anyone here would be interested in assembling a Hell Cows team for further rune funds, I'd be more than happy to join up with you. The main things it will need is an Avenger capable of heavy tanking, and a few LF zons, maybe some heavy hitting sorcs too.

Let me know here or online.

Interestng that you have found those sites. I've went on a search engine myself but instead of searching the runewords, I searched the game. All the ones that I went to, IE, gamefaqs, gamewinner, etc. didn't have those. I actually browsed through a walkthrough of the game and in the end, the author of it wrote, you have the smash the runestone in the end. So I'm guessing that site may be wrong and that runewords have nothing to do with that game. Also that list is almost the same as the list in the beginning of this thread.

Not sure about the blizhackers thing - but I found a 2-socket circlet and had ortral in the inventory so I tried it - gemmed circlet - nothing special.

Well it could be real. It's taking the direct runeword from the old rune.txt file, but it could also be fake. We have no proof that he is on ladder or not. If he really wanted to prove that it was real, he should have taken three screenshots, one with the Ladder information up, one with all the runes except for one in the axe and one with the runeword. Then we would know for sure that it's not fake. As it is, it is a VERY powerful runeword, and is actually better then BotD, as pointed out by someone in the battle.net thread. It does more damage and has the possibility to do even more damage because of crushing blow and deadly strike and it has ignore target defense. Even worse it's in a one-handed weapon. It's just way too powerful which leads me to believe that it's a fake.
 
Well, I found a 4 sock Dacian Falx while hell cowing (yay, I beat hell on my own) and then socketed it with Jealousy: Hel Io Ort Lem. Came out gemmed...which means, it failed :(
 
I was looking through the books included in the Battlechest, and Noticed the first page of the Diablo II book has a bunch of Rune drawings on it. Maybe it has some words buried in it? There seems to be a lot of drawings which aren't rune as we know of now. However, the very last line has (Unknow Rune) (Ith) (Lum) (Io) (Hel). Can someone scan this page?
 
Any "new runewords" posted on the battle.net forums are fake unless people start saying that they've actually seen the word in-game.

I will ask this again, Warthome, who are "************". I noticed that alot of 1.07 runewords are said to have been tested by "************". I just want to authenticate somehow the validity that these words have been tested.
 
You know...this thread is rather daunting.

Can somebody link me to the weekly update thread? I can't seem to find it.

(If you create a character on US.east I can hook you up with enough gold for a bunch of 2 socket weapons (Why do people say OS? Open sockets?)

Did a quick count of all runes in Known active rune words (including the four new ones) here are the results, although I haven't had a chance to analyze the figures perhaps someone else will

That site is a site on which people who hack Blizzard games post all their info about cheats, bots, et cetera. They have a runeword thread there, but posting links to that site is against rpgforums rules. I can give you a link if you e-mail me (I didn't see your question last night, sorry, it was late). They've actually been fairly strict with their testing, but shaft and I still thought it best to note which ones were tested there, and which here.

Sodapopinski has posted numerous fake runewords on the b.net forum over the past month. He usually calls his own bluff after about an hour or so. He thinks it's funny.

ya sry guys im stupid :cheesy: he hadnt post his reply yet sry, il make it up to you guys tho, il donate sum runes to u guys scl east and i will also donate more ft cuz i need sum items im poor :/ i have a charged boltress so i can do em easy (i have light as a synergy so i can kill shiz dont worry, cb works good neway :lol: ) my acc is nails_3 whisper me for runes il be rune running il donate sum to u guys then after i donate enuf il save sum then u guys can trade for em :)
 
sorry about the math in my last post, some of it was wrong. I was using the windows calculator and im not that adept with it. but yeah, for armor its 35k approx, then if you divide armor into 3 types (heavy light medium) its more. of course i dont know if any runewords only work in "heavy" armor or whatever.

but yeah there are so many runeword possibilities for stuff its immense. Technically also you could have runewords for each class specific items, like exile. which makes it even bigger.

Also a quick scan of the new 1.10 runewords, the lowest runeword has lum in it, next has lem ( splendor and the one with berserk) Everything else seems to have um or higher in it.

Just thought i would note that.
 
Did someone say free runes? :cheesy: Well.....actually, I was just wondering how Forge rushes were being scheduled and handled. Weren't they to be scheduled by...Friday? Yesterday? Maybe I'm talking about it in the wrong thread?

Anyway....I need a Vex for my hoto!!!!! :drool:
