23 Runeword Search Thread

I am back...haven't been playing much (Was away, school). I'll still play a bit, but you can pretty much give up on my US.East rune rusher, sorry. I can still provide insight, spare characters in rushes (even on non-US.East) whatever...by the way...we've done so much...look at all the pernumerations we've accomplished.

I wouldn't limit the obscure words...actually, I'd suggest prefering them. Heck, aether looks like a good one to try :lol:
By my logic, Blizzard would use obscure words to prevent the rune words from being guessed too quickly?
 
Afternoon, all. I was in meetings from 9:30 until 3:30 today, so I'm just catching up.

Updated: wathombe's runeword spreadsheet

Acronym page update: I've almost finished the low-level rune acronym page in the spreadsheet, after which we can begin scanning it for words that might match up with runeword names. It's very labor-intensive:
any word with an 'e' or a 't' has three possible recipes;
any word with two e's or t's has six possible recipes;
any word with one e and one t has nine possible recipes;
any word with one e and two t's or one t and two e's has 18 possible recipes; and
any word with two e's and two t's has 36 possible recipes.
For 131 acronyms, there will be over 700 possible recipes, each in at least 7 and as many as 16 item types. All below Io so get testing!

Warcraft update: I will compile Warcraft theories that people have posted after I finished the acronyms. Work has slowed me down a bit this week.

Pandorapuss: Yes, that's the same 1.07 list we started out testing. We've tested all but fifteen or so words on that list, so unless you have runes above Gul to burn, don't worry about it.

Apom: Yes, I did see your spreadsheet; very handy. I'm keeping the page I'm working on to runes less than Io, as had been your original idea. I'll definitely track any weapon name tests on the master 3os+ page, though.

Catlaw: Let us know what happens with Trust...

Shaft: Good to see you! Hope your course is going well; check in with us every now and then.

tlaloc: No one has been working specifically on claws, so go right ahead. It looks like there have been maybe four 2-socket recipes tested already, so be sure to check the grid in the spreadsheet before you get started.

Ikeren: Sorry you've been busy, and that's too bad about the rusher. Zephyrus' hell cow team might be the best way to go now. If I can get my character a little farther along, I can join him. And I hear you about the obscure spellings, I was just trying to cut down on possibilities (see above). Agreed on 'aether,' but there were obscure words I'd never heard of, and those, I tossed.

Sword - ElEldTir = gemmed
Axe - NefOrtRal = gemmed
Mace - TirIthEth = gemmed

1 more test:
Armor - TirIthNef = gemmed
 
I'm more than willing to try a classic softcore rusher. That or I can rush hardcore expansion, and just hope we find someone to do ancients and the like. I've already got a sorc and a pally that, together, could rush up to act 4 hell. If a classic rusher on any realm is still needed, I can do that (or takeover Ikeren's rusher, if not just the items). Let me know.
 
I have a clasic ruhser in the works(kinda) she still needs to be lvled some more and I havent been working on her much. I'm not gonna be able to acces a compute this weekend but when i get back i might start on her yet again. Makeing classic rushers can be very painfull, because lvling in classic is a lot slower and not to many poeple play it anymore. I can rush up to nm but the hell thing is gonna require me to put a lot more time into the rusher. School has just started whihc seriously reduces my playing time so it could be a while before she is ready for anythign more streniouse.

Good evening, all. Sorry, but today my job (cell phone tower company) had me on the road for well over 500 miles. I just got in, and I am off to bed. I will continue on swords tomorrow in the early evening, and you all can count on me working harder this weekend.

Thank you for letting me know where to purchase socketed items from. I was getting perturbed at charsi last night for not having enough 2 socket swords, LOL. Have you ever growled at your PC screen?? :rant:

Good work all, shame nothing yet...

Just want to check that everyone is aware that these only work in ladder so non-ladder tests are all bogus...just worried that some of these could be correct but tested incorrectly.

Also a thought that may have been brought up before but due to the size of this thread I'll just ask now.

What if some of these rune words only work specifically in Hardcore ladder, not softcore..just wanted to mention this in passing.

Anyone tested LEET yet?
 
Also, just put the first letter of each rune through an anagram machine and here are some of the more 'relevant' results..

Aged, Alert, Angel, Armpit (?), Artist, Avid, Bliss, Brave, Creep, Cruel (!!), Deft, Dire, Elite (!!), Evil (!!), Grim (shield?), Halo, Hero, Legend (hammer?) Manic, Mean, Nectar, Noble, Ornate (Armour?), Reason, Rich, Safe, Saint, Sage, Senior, Sharp, Smart, Sober, Solid, Star, Super, Thug, Trim.

All may mean absolutely nothing but some sound good....
 
USWest Softcore Ladder is all that I play. LOL, a week ago I was sitting in a uswest channel spamming: "NM RUSH FOR YOUE FORGE DROP"

I got about 15 people wanting a non-ladder rush, one guy thinking I was a noob or something, cause I couldn't join his game, and started explaining to me HOW to join a game. LMFAO ROTF LOL. If I needed help joining a game, I might as well not play at all!!!

Also, all of my tests are being done on swords, in case no one got that. I wanted to start shields first, but them I saw all of the blanks that needed to be filled in on swords and changed my mind.

TELAL666: I'd be more than happy to take those runes off of your hands and utilize them. I should be done with the Swords by the end of the weekend all the way up to Amn+. From that point I am not sure if I want to start testing with other items or stick with swords and just craft the runes up for whatever testing I do. I cannot ask for someone with vex, ist, cham, ber, etc. etc. to donate, since these runes as we all know are WORTH something. As long as I have a supplier of gems, I can upgrade all my runes, I've personally already been doing it before helping out here, so it is no skin off of my teeth.

My fellow clan member, Sirdoofuss, has graciously offered his rune finding support, and is ready to give me MORE runes for the good cause. :buddies: He then went on to say that if the runes he finds is around Um or above, he will have to be a little stingy until he starts getting doubles. :rant:

Anyways, I am off. I eagerly anticipate the update of "Ye olde Spreadsheet" from Wathombe. I print each new one out. Benefits for being a Warehouse Manager for one of the nations leading cell tower constructors, hehe. :winner:

Tired as I was last night, I did take my Tesladin on a short jaunt through the Sewers to kill hell Radament for a skill point. I then got my *** kicked by two packs of multi-shot LI archers in the Pits. Ouch.

Pleuris: If you post your acct name, too, I'll add you to the players' list in the spreadsheet. We have a good group on Europe SCL (although I haven't seen them around this week).

Pandorapuss: Logged, thanks. I should have the acronym page done today, then I'll start compiling Warcraft clues.

Wow. The anagrams list will be something like one thousand lines long. Heavy work on your part :thumbsup:

I'll check the already tested 3-sockets words to see if any anagram has already been tested. Also, line 39 does work (King's Grace, I think it's sword and hammer). And line 28 doesn't work in missile weapons (Shaft's "hackers' site" having tested it following my fake screenshot).
 
I had a look at all the WoW screenshots and didn't see anything of much promise, but 2 pairs of eyes are always better than one. Hint, hint.

Early morning flash of insight: It is a reasonable assumption that, with the "When Worlds Collide" theme, the sword that played such a pivotal role in Warcraft 3, and subsequent events, Frostmourne might well be a new runeword. This sword was wielded by a, later corrupted, human by the name of Arthas. With this in mind perhaps Amn Ral Thul Hel Amn Sur (Sol) is a possibility, in a sword of course. My guess would be Sur simply because a sword of the power in WC3 couldn't possibly be made up solely of low lvl runes.
 
2 countess runs

I just did 2 countess runs, one hell and the other normal. Both times the Countess dropped ZERO runes! No one else was in my game, and I always thought she dropped at least one rune. :(
