Ghost_Gal is at the Pandamonium Fortress of NM and is preparing to take her Chain Lightning and Frozen Orb skills on the hunt for Diablo. She is playing on P7 and surviving rather well. She stayed on P7 for Mephisto and had no trouble. The merc lived through it as well, though he did need to be pumped up with a few full rejuvs.
Her new piece of equipment is an ethereal crown with the Lore runeword. Of course it will wear down over time. Hopefully she will find a better helm or use her act 5 personalization item before that happens.
The Merc was blessed with an INSIGHT Partizan. He is a lot more helpful now. JUst before he received this gift, there was a battle that really had Ghost_Gal worried about her future. The first quest in act 3 is the one where you find a figurine on one of your first boss monsters. This time the monster was one of those huge hulks (forget the actual name). He was cold enchanted. That meant that the merc had to do most of the damage. Ghost_Gal could start off by using Static Field. But after that, her Frozen ORb or chain lightning did very little to help. Typically, the health bar of the monster was going in the wrong direction. He must have had a large regen skill. Finally, after visiting town several times for more potions, the merc was able to finish off the monster. The key was using the frozen orb to slow down the monster (even though it did very little damage).
