It looks like Hell and late NM are really taking a toll on the higher chars... I'll have to watch out for that when I finally get around to playing Turd.
Yeah, late NM and Hell were a little rough. I am trying to get back into HC mode. When I play SC, I still try not to die, but you can't help but think that even if you do, it's not the end.
HC being the one shot deal that it is requires a little more attention to detail. I think my downfall in both cases was item finding. In both cases, I was wearing MF gear in spots that should have held resist/dam reduction gear. I will not be making that mistake again. I can't believe I made it twice already. I will be remaking my bone necro, and I have a sorc fooling around in act 3 right now. I will also spend some time MFing NM meph to get some better gear before I head into hell difficulty. The gear I had on my bonemancer was pathetic. The wand and shield were endgame. Nothing wrong with my killing power at all, but my resists were around -30. Yikes.

Edit: Okay, just a little detail on my assassin.
The final build will be as many lightning skills maxed as possible along with fire blast and death sentry for LIs.
Act 1 was conquered with a mix of fire blast and charged bolt sentry. Act 2 was more tricky and I had to rely mainly on my mercenary for raw damage. Duriel was a pain because like the idiot I am, I forgot to run the countess for the stealth runes. It involved a lot of running around, 2 visits to town, shadow and trap casting.
I started investing heavily in lightning sentry once I was in act 3. Mephisto was moat-tricked to death with traps. The main problems in act 4 were the damned and storm casters, both of which were highly resistant to my lightning traps. Big D took a while to take down, but he wasn't that tough. Even dropped me a goldwrap.
After having 10 points in it, LS is really starting to kick butt in act 5. Hordes of enslaved and imps have been thoroughly barbequed to a crisp. Having scored a Sol rune in act 4 and getting the ral-ort-tal runes, I made a Lore helm. Now I only need 9 more +skills. :uhhuh:

I stood just out or range of his mana rift spell and laid trap after trap until he dropped. Up to the countess right now, running her a few times for a shael so I can finally make my Rhyme shield. Hoping for a Lem from hellforge (if I get there) so I can make Treachery.

I had good luck in Act 3, I picked up a cruddy Manald (4%), Shadow skiller, several decent rare rings. NM Duriel game me a Dwarfstar, and a few useful items from Meph. Silks of the Victor, Nats Hat...even a TC3 Pluckeye!
I am going to run meph a few more times before I move on to Act 4. Good luck everyone!

21 LordMay Okami Druid Fury N 1 AliveJust completed act 1, had no major problems apart from coldcrow who was a b****, had to use a whole belt of healing potions. Andarial was a breeze, static is one helluva skill!
I'm kinda disappointed that i have had no uniques or set items thus far, my last char through act 1 norm got 4 uniques and 3 sets... i guess he was just lucky.
I'll post my next update when duriel is dead, til then HAPPY HUNTING and remember to watch that red bulb closely! :thumbsup:
