Best bet for unique jewelery is Hell Andy once you can hit the uniques only MF breakpoint of 556% (iirc).

But Andy doesn't drop as much nice stuff as council, even in NM. It depends on the long-term goals.

Progressed to Hell LK, and started trying to rack an eth sword base for my 1.13 oath. Naturally, first map I rolled has a berserker axe rack instead, and the very first drop was 4os ethereal, heh! Got a 6os for that never going to happen breath of the dying. Otherwise it's been trolling me pretty hard. Lots of 5os drops, but none ethereal. And this masterpiece of trolling which would have been better off with no sockets at all: a 15%dmg superior ethereal berserker axe... with one socket.

Hitting the superchests afterwards has once again proved worth the extra time with lots of jewels, charms, and gems coming forth. A few decent rings as well; mostly leech and mana.

In my planning phase again. What are the Barb options for someone who hates WW and Frenzy? Leap Attack and War Cry?

I couldn't speak from personal experience, except insofar as having played with warcry through normal in 1.11 (and therefore without much benefit of synergies). It was a smooth enough experience, that if the skill progression is at least similar in 1.07 that I imagine it remains a viable killing skill for longer in 1.07 than post 1.10 patches given the lower health of enemies. As to leap attack, I remember one of my very first characters back before the expansion used leap attack. I can't speak to how effective it really was, given how long ago it was and how casually I was playing then, but I do remember it being a fun skill to play around with.

Both skills have obviously also been a thing for trav running, if having something to run is a consideration; and a particularly safe option at that. Combining the skills might even make the mercs safe enough that they accomplish things in hell.

I can't think of what else to suggest, assuming your dislike of frenzy also lends itself to a dislike of the other single-target skills.

On another topic, I got more ethereals: another 4os zerker axe, and a pair of 5os zerker axe, and I've got a questions about that.

I've collected bunch of unsocketed ethereals, can I safely socket them after bringing them forward without losing the special nature of 1.07 ethereal weapons?

Instead of starting to desperately look for Raven Frost/Cat's Eye I decided to just progress some more - straight after I racked that Tiamat's. I have now arrived to Hell LK. Act 1/2 were pretty uneventful as I was on almost full FRW gear and just ran straight through, killing some random boss pack now and then. Found my highest rune as of yet, Lem, and Duriel dropped Highlord's. No major problems with anything, killed even one LI/PI boss. Probably my CB (Guillaume's and 9 from crafted gloves) + Tiamat's elemental damages solved that.

Already racked bunch of eth GPAs to bring forward. Unfortunately no eth superior 4 socketed ones, would've been fun to have better Insight on my Singer's than FoE has :p maybe I can live with that. Also racked Tal's plate, as I had found the Amu earlier. I'm sure the belt will drop at some point. 3 part Tal's might prove useful in the future.

Thanks for the reminder. Yes it should be 556%. If those won't show up, I just might give this a go. But I'm fine now, CBF would be nice tho.

The Spirid Shroud has CBF and is a nice armor if you don't have Vipermagi or can't equip Arkaine's yet.

I should maybe re-read this whole thread now that I'm actually playing the patch... I recall reading here that Amazons can get Grand Matron Bow as a reward from Anya in Hell. Any idea does character level play a role here? I've rescued her but not talked yet.

So, after some racking I decided to quest a bit. I ended playing the last three acts in one session. Birgitte, level 66 Javazon is now my first 1.07 Matriarch :) Baal got me once and Durance of Hate level 3 was a mess where I ended up dying few times. Other than that it was quite fine regardless that I didn't bother to make my character a bit sturdier by replacing inventory full of FRW charms with life and resistances instead. Skipped quite a few unique bosses during the last acts. Killing everything will get easier as I can wear Matriarchal Javelins at level 67. That will probably make a nice difference in my overall dmg. Hopefully I can craft a nice pair at higher levels...

Btw, I came across with quite a cool LK map, armor rack dropping Shakos and weapon rack Bone Knives! They are very close to WP, and there's also 3 superchests to pop aswell :)

What are the best maps you've seen? This ofc depends what one needs, but would be fun to hear the best combos.

Afaik, level does matter, but fresh mules with only levels from ancients (Lv52? 54?) can potentially get the bow, and is generally the easiest way to do so. I do remember more clearly that the person who first discovered the reward was in their high 60's (67?) when they got it initially. I don't remember as clearly where/who confirmed the 50-something mules getting it.

My best LK map so far has probably been 1 super chest -> unstable rack that can potentially drop Bartuc's, The GrandFather, and Bul'Kathos Tribal Guardian (and also gave me 2 semi-useless uniques besides, so far) -> Winged Helm (Guillame, Valkyrie Wing), which I am currently running.

Thanks! My 1.13 toons have lately been so much twinked to the teeth that this actually felt like a little achievement! 1.07 certainly is a different game some times

Not bad racks there either. Racking Colossus Swords is definitely on my 1.07 to-do list as well. And Valkyrie Wing and Guillaume's are among the best helms in the whole patch, depending on build :) GL with your racking!

I dug out my old computer and found a copy of Flavie so I can keep track of my sets/uniques/runes. Now if only ATMA would show the correct level requirements and not Prefix XX, I'd be happy.

So it appears killing hell cows at p1 is super easy, as expected. Could probably do it with plain javelins, 20 LF is just that great there.

I'm waiting for higher level (77 atm) to do some crafting. Currently playing with some random rare Matriarchal Javelins which have ctc firebolt on striking. It seems to be counted on all the lightning bolts. So there's quite a much pretty fireworks going on all the time. I suppose ctc amp would be the same? If so, I'll definitely stick with some ctc amp javelins, given they have ok other mods, ofc.

Would you prefer Matriarhal Javelins over for example Winged Harpoons? I read that both the strength and dexterity is counted on dmg with javelins, unlike with Amazon only Javelins. Both could get at least Cruel + Master's on crafts I think....

Haha, I did! Funny stuff. I'm also playing d2 with sounds on since I don't know when. Holy bolt sound got annoying after one run :D And I can't help but think some guy recording those moo-moo sounds.......

10 levels to go for my original goal of 91 levels with my javazon. Running Hell cows, players 1 all the way.

I'm counting the number of runs, any guesses how many it will be?

Also hoping to score some of these: War Travs, Ghoulhide, Jalal's, Tal Belt, Tal Orb, Tal Mask, Raven Claw, Raven Frost, Cat's Eye, Herald of Zakarum, Visceratuant, Skin of the Vipermagi, Gerke's Sanctuary, Saracen's Chance, SoJ, Coldsteel Eye, Blade of Ali Baba, IK boots and gloves etc...

Will I get any of these, what do you think? I hope a few at least... I'll probably swim in Sigon's Armors, that's for sure. Gems/Jools/Runes/Charms WILL drop that's for sure, too :)

I have a barbarian at the act 5 norm. He's destined to be a Travi runner one day. What weapon(s) you usually use through NM/Hell until you can wear BK set? Maybe some shopped cruel + shaes socketed will do the trick? I have a Bloodletter, hope it can carry me to somewhere at least, and a bunch of max dmg charms..

Duriel is no joke, and loves eating mercs as greetings.

As to WW weapons; Butcher's Pupil should be droppable by some bosses (TC36 (qLvl34), reqLvl 47), and is the same as in later patches as near as I can tell, and will hit max BP after socketing (and frankly is plenty good before socketing). Being axes, it won't take advantage of your sword mastery points, but you can either 1pt bug (which I've heard works) the axe mastery, or simply do without until you can equip something shopped or the sets. It should be even stronger in 1.07 than in later patches, which is an uncommon twist.
