OT: The SPF Path of Exile Thread

Way overdue but my totem char has reached 86. Got up to 3/4 of a lvl, but because i kept trying higher tier maps it caused the occasional death. Just enough to lose the progress i made. So i kept going between 1/3 and 3/4 of a lvl in terms of experience. So now i decided to do maps of slightly lower tiers to finally get to that 86 mark.

With the exception of unique maps i think i have everything up until tier 4 and only 1 missing from t5. T6 i think i may have complete too. Got quite a few of t7 and 2 (?) of t8. Bosses of those t8 maps were surprisingly easy.

What are you guys doing with all the maps you find though? I have 1 tab that's absolutely filled with them and already a second one that's about 1/3 filled. And still growing. Every time i run a map i find at least one and most of the time more. Already got rid of several by trading 3 the same ones for a higher tier one, but this is still getting out of hand. Thought about selling all my lower tier ones, but i may want to run those with new chars.

Hideout got upgraded to the largest possible. Invited all the masters. Still have some decorating to do.

With running these maps i'm starting to find quite a few uniques. Mostly not so good / garbage. But also some nice ones are starting to pop up.

Oh yeah and another question i had: With the harbringer league you can get some sort of eyes decoration for your character if you get enough achievements. Do those apply to all your chars? Just one? If one, are they stuck on that char or can give them to another if i choose to do so later on?

Found the unique map Olmec's sanctum (t7) through some corrupted divination cards. Any idea how easy/hard this map is? Would like to run it, but a bit scared that i may waste it in case my char can't finish it.

No clue to be honest. I haven't touched PoE since returning to D2, and with the expansion of Grim Dawn around the corner, it's not very likely I will.

@T72on1: This is unacceptable you quitter :p

Turns out the unique map was nothing to be afraid of. I thought it would be much harder than regular maps of the same tier, but it turned out not to be so bad. In fact the character i used was perfectly suited for the task as it's ranged. Perhaps a melee char would've had trouble with it, but not this one. Only noteworthy drop was a unique widowsilk robe by the final boss.

Character also just made it to 87. Which may make it time to attempt the final lab in order to fully ascend.

Atlas progress: (Not including unique maps) Tiers 1 through 5 complete. Tiers 6, 7 and 8 all missing 1 map. Tier 9 did 2, still need the rest. Shaped a 3rd map (don't think i mentioned that yet?). And i really need to start throwing out maps. Got 2 full tabs of them and their numbers are still increasing.

Gave the lab one attempt. Died at first boss encounter. Didn't feel like trying again. So that stays on the to-do list.

Reason for another post: I had the weirdest map in Zana's daily yesterday. It gave a ton of extra xp, but the downside was monsters didn't drop any items. And i mean really nothing whatsoever. Weird experience not to have to check what's on the ground. Took me a while to let go of the button to bring up the items so i could really focus on killing stuff.

I completed the cruel labyrinth the other day (yay, two more ascendency points), but even though I am deep into Act 9 I don't really have much motivation at the moment.

Totally forgot that was coming. Would be nice to play it a bit again. Though not sure if it's gonna happen. Same as with T72on1 i'm having a lack of time. Or well, i do have enough time in a day. Unfortunately a great deal is wasted on work.

Looks like a new season is coming up and i'm thinking about giving it another go after more than a year by the looks of my posting here. So a couple of quick questions:

Since it's coming out on ps4 i'm thinking about playing that. Anyone have any experience with the console version (i think x-box is out already)? I mean is it easy to control with buttons and stuff or is it just way easier/better to stick with the pc version?

Any guides or anything on builds that are gonna be good for the next go or are good now and are probably not gonna get nerfed (too hard anyway)?

I have played it very minimally on Xbox one. I really only tried it because I have one and it's free. It seemed fairly intuitive for someone who actually uses a controller regularly (not me, I never use the console). Looting seemed a bit weird, but would probably be fine with practice and a loot filter.

Not sure about builds yet, as patch notes aren't up showing nerfs or buffs. But RF has been strong for a while, and totems are always strong with Heirophant. Many skills work just fine, like arc, glacial cascade, spark....almost any spell really.

It's free so it's not the cost that had me asking. I just don't like to waste my time trying to wrestle a controller in order to try and get my toon to move in the right direction while it works perfectly fine on pc. So i thought i'd ask :).

I've tried a RF (righteous flame, right?) build once. It was ok, but i had trouble getting enough life regen to really make it fun.

Don't know if it was a heirophant, but my last char was a totem build with some kind of cold damage. Had fun with it and it was the best char i ever had in PoE (not that that's saying much ;)). Could see myself doing one of those again, but i think i'd like to try something new first.

Been looking a few yt vids to get some ideas. Saw some powerful builds that were kinda meh to me. Saw one that looked both like a lot of fun and really powerful, but i think it was a pretty expensive build and then it's always the question how well solo selffound works with the char in question. Oh well, still have some time to decide so i'm in no rush.

Personally, I don't like the look of the new patch, so I'll keep playing the standard league for a while. Or I could come back to D2 and finish my BoTD Sept.
