Final Fantasy Forum Mafia Game Thread

I'd also like to say that sometimes I'm just bad and wrong, and this was proven in recent memory when I thought neither of our D1 and D2 scum lynches were scummy at all. So...just saying I wouldn't value my input too much when I have so little to go off of.

All input is valued! Just when you want to put in your two cents, sometimes it's really just worth 2 cents :P

Of the hoopla today surrounding the claim, I find BA the most suspicious. I assumed that Zokar was joking, so BPC's question seemed very reasonable, and it seems like BA was trying to shut down conversation about it. It almost felt like a setup (although that would require mafia daytalk), and even if it wasn't, it felt like BA was trying to stifle conversation.

Vote: Bad Ash

BPC asked his question. I said I didn't like it. Zokar answered the question. People asked what I didn't like about it and it generated quite a bit of conversation. How is any of that stifling the conversation? And how was I trying to shut it down?
since when is disagreeing with something stifling conversation and an auto scum move?

Also I'd love to know how you can stifle a conversation off of a question that has two answers: yes and maybe.

What an interesting day to read and catch up on. I think if there was someone to lynch from today's conversation, the candidates would be Zokar, Bad Ash or Goryani, in that order.

Thank you, Gwaihir, for the reply.

(After writing this out, I reread your comment and actually understood what you were saying... So, don't take this as an attack towards you.)
When are d1 and d2 lynches ever on someone scummy? There is always some post that someone finds that builds a case on it that a majority of people vote for, for whatever reason they may be voting: information, knows the person is town, loves bandwagons, etc.
There is extremely limited information on d1/2s. The given meta is town needs information. A mislynch on d1 isn't very bad, but not voting for someone: they should, in your (the voters') eyes appear such town that losing them would threating our victory; OR you know they are scum and obv won't vote for your m8 d1. Unless you just <3 towncred so much, "Pharphis couldn't be scum, he locked every scum all game!"

I think his post created the perfect balance of WIFOM to be left alone. Is he vanilla or is he not is the mafias question, is he town or is he not is the towns question, does he have any retaliation, does he have some sort of effect. His post raises so many questions that no one is going to want to touch him, or at least thats the impression I'm getting.
That's my point. For me though, it just seems too perfect and doesn't set well with me, especially just out of the blue like that. Why don't we all just claim vanilla townie out of the gate every game then? I don't like it.

I used to not be as in favor of questionable lynch > no lynch, but I've warmed up to it quite a bit since I've been playing. I would like to see someone lynched today, otherwise is just gives mafia/vigi(s?) a free day and we get nothing. I'd like to know who Zokar really is and we won't get that if we let someone NK him. My vote stands (his tone makes me think we'd be doing him a favor anyway), although I've thought about switching to Gory or BA.

I'm afraid I won't be around for day close, I'm off to DM some D&D for the next 5-6 hours. I may be able to chime in again real soon, but after that, I'll just have to see you guys tomorrow. If I survive the night, which I probably won't. I tend to get kiled pretty early for some reason. :p

It did end up generating a lot of conversation, but to me it seemed like you wanted it not to. Like you wanted to give Zokar a free pass, which to me is a scum move.

I am suspicious of someone who is being cagey like Zokar is, and to me it seems like you are trying to assist him in being cagey.

OT: what type you playing?

It's 4E tonight. They are gonna have to diffuse an elemental power construct that has been running out of control for the last century+, but has been contained until recently.

I have a 2nd Edition game going too, but that's been on the back burner for the last couple months.

It seemed like I wanted to give Zokar a free pass? If it "seemed" that way you are implying you aren't sure my actual motives and yet you voted for me without engaging me about the matter whatsoever about it. Interesting.

For the record the last thing I was doing was giving Zokar a free pass. The entire conversation had absolutely nothing to do with that.

Due to some bad IRL circumstances, Laarz has been forced to withdraw from the game.

Everyone please send your thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and general good juju towards him and his extended family, as they are going through a terrible trial right now. Our hearts go out to you and your family, Laarz. <3<3<3

FredOfErik volunteers as tribute, and will take over for Laarz for the remainder of the game. Thank you to both parties for their support of this game!

Day 1 will be ending in approximately 2 hours, at 5PM EST.

Scum drawing so much attention to themselves D1 always seems super unlikely to me, so it looks to me like worst case is zokar(worst likely case) is that zokar is VI I guess? Which isnt really *bad* for town, other than the fact that lynching someone who isnt town is wasteful. If he flips VI what do we learn though?

I'm sorry. That is not a valid answer. More oil for you Tin Man!

Squirt me!

That's a perfectly valid answer. She has zero knowledge of the game. Why does this matter?

thank you, Mrs. Tru.

Question: What alignment do you typically see a busdriver?

Usually pro-town because sometimes the switching does NK a scummy. But there have been mafia drivers before.

Zero is not between 1 and 10. It was a silly retort by me.

Which is why my answer was zero. I wanted to be sarcastic.,

Guys, got class in 15 minutes. Won't be around for the end of the day. Sorry. :( too much to catch up on and so I can't cast a vote.

I doubt there will be a lynch but most others seem to be in favour of Day 1 lynch. Only person I'm willing to vote for is Bad Ash.

?Vote: Bad Ash

?Vote: Goryani

There have been people supporting his decision for reasons that make me think they aren't reading the thread or they are in cahoots and reaching for excuses so, i believe this could tell us about BPC and Gwaihir.

Nice. Have played that for a while, currently in a Pathfinder campaign (modified 3.5)

Sorry to hear that Laarz. I hope for the best possible outcome for you, whatever it is.
