Final Fantasy Forum Mafia Game Thread

It seemed like I wanted to give Zokar a free pass? If it "seemed" that way you are implying you aren't sure my actual motives and yet you voted for me without engaging me about the matter whatsoever about it. Interesting.

For the record the last thing I was doing was giving Zokar a free pass. The entire conversation had absolutely nothing to do with that.

You put all of your questioning into BPC, and none directed at Zokar. So what are your thoughts on Zokar then? Do you feel he is scum, townie, or nuetral?

?
There have been people supporting his decision for reasons that make me think they aren't reading the thread or they are in cahoots and reaching for excuses so, i believe this could tell us about BPC and Gwaihir.

I disagree. You could make a case either way Goryani flips.

He flips town: "They were defending someone they knew was town, so scummy."
He flips mafia: "They were defending their mafia buddy, so scummy."

I believe that if we are to lynch someone, your lynch would garner us the most information.

Actually. Unvote: Zokar

I would prefer to not lynch people who are actually contributing to and spurring on conversation. Regardless of his motive, his comment did give us things to talk about that we can use to draw further conclusions on others.

And I disagree with that. Fun game this is.

I think he's made two, weird, posts so I have no idea what to think about his role. Neutral wouldn't surprise me at all, but leaning townie for now.

Hey guys.

I haven't had time to read through the thread yet and won't have time before day-end. I will refrain from voting this day phase. Will get caught up during the night!

Day 1 has officially ended! Please do not post in this thread until Pharphis or myself end Night 1 and begin Day 2 at 5PM EST on Thursday, 16 January. If you have anything to submit during the night, please try to do so before the last hour of the phase. Thank you, see you all at sunrise!

End of Day 1 Vote Count:

Drixx {1}: Moar
Vorle {0}: (Goryani, Unvote)
Pyrotechnician {1}: coju
Bad Ash {3}: Goryani, Gwaihir, BipolarChemist
Zokar {1}: Technomancer, (IWantToUseNumbersInMyName, Unvote)
Goryani {3}: Goldtru, Valhauros, Bad Ash
Valhauros {1}: Pyrotechnician

Day 1 has ended in a no-lynch.

Deputy: "General, the students have all been sent to quarters for the evening."

General: "Thank you, Commander. Have you anything to report on any student behaviors as of yet?"

Deputy: "Sir, there were quite a few scuffles in the main common room throughout the day. I've caught wind that one of the students has proclaimed their ill-thoughts of this school, and doesn't wish to be here anymore, almost if he were begging for a fight. It would appear that this was generally ignored, however, a few cliques have formed, with students rallying behind many different banners."

General: "Do you think he should be expelled?"

Deputy: "This is not my call, sir."

General: "How many years have you been under my command? Will you ever learn that I respect your opinions, even if you wish not to assert them over me?"

Deputy: "Sincerest apologies, sir! At this juncture, I do not believe it to be a wise decision to expel him from the Academy. We still have an investigation of thievery to conduct, and, if it so happens that this student was involved in some way, we need to keep him around and hold him accountable."

General: "Wise, as always. Perhaps someday you can take my place as General, and I can retire. I grow so weary of war."

Deputy: "Is that why we came to take command of the Academy? We both know you still live to fight, even if your body is battered from the years..."

General: "Indeed. What are your plans for the evening, since we are confined to Academy grounds?"

Deputy: "Luckily, the cellars remain un-discovered by the student body. Perhaps a few pints might do us some good?"

General: "You grow ever wiser by the second!"

Day 2 has officially begun! This day phase will last 48H, and close on Saturday, 18 January, at 5PM EST. (Only D1 was 72H) All night actions should have been addressed. If you feel you may have been overlooked, please PM or post in your QT.

**You are awakened a few hours before sunrise by an old, wise-looking Moogle, wearing robes that were obviously tailored to fit a man; they drag for several feet behind him on the ground. He uses a ruler, likely 'borrowed' from the Wizard's classroom, as a sort of improvised cane. He visits each dormitory in the wee hours pre-dawn, rousing the students, and telling them to congregate in the main foyer just before dawn.**

General Pharphis, addressing the entire, restless, and still partially sleeping crowd of anxious students: "Good morning everyone! The Commander and I have decided, even though it is only the second day of training, that we could all use a bit of fresh air after yesterday's frantic events. So, we have decided that we--"

Deputy Logoutzero interrupts the General: "BE OFF TO THE CHOCOBO RACES!!!"

General: "At ease Commander! I know you are excited to see how Boco is shaping up this season, but remember, we are there for training my friend!"

Deputy: "Oh alright. At any rate, we must call the roll!"

**As the roll call begins, the students rush toward the Highwind, a rather large airship docked behind the main Atrium of the Academy. The massive turbine engines of the airship begin to spin, turning faster and faster, generating a loud whistling noise. Flowers, shrubs, and even some small trees are uprooted and sucked into the giant turbines as the airship begins to lift off. One student, curious, is standing on the main deck as the airship takes flight. Wondering just exactly how fast the blades are spinning, he climbs up the railing to get a closer look, when, *HLAP HLOOP* he is ripped right out of his shoes, sucked up into the turbines. The engines are so loud, nobody even heard him scream as he was ripped off the boat and shredded into a fine, red mist.**

Caluin Graye has died! 20 players remain, it takes 10 votes to lynch, 11 to lock!

Drixx, why have you been so quiet so far? Not really your style and I am curious.

Semester just started and I'm a college professor. Even my streaming and writing for the site has suffered from it. Things will settle down ... first week of classes is always the most busywork for me with add/drop paperwork and such.

I don't think we can read much into CG being killed off. When he's not mafia he's basically a policy kill for mafia because of how subtle and good he is. I saw a couple things yesterday that gave me some pause for concern. Zokar's play was full on wifom for everyone. Bad Ash and Goryani both seemed to be at times desperate to defend.

Hopefully I can add more a bit later.

Professor Mod Drixx!

You are right about CG's departure, but they way you put it rubbed me in a way I don't like getting rubbed.

Thou speaketh? Why are you so eager to address your silence yesterday (38min after the accusation) yet so reluctant to add to the day's, or yesterday's, discussion? Why were you so disinterested to lynch one of the players you named as lynch candidates at ~5 hours before deadline.

I also admitted as much asking for thought and arguments. And cheese cake. I'm operating a bit more on right-brain right now, for day 1 there isn't much else to go on. BA seems to be indirectly defending him, so if Zokar did flip scum, that would look bad on him. If he is town, especially if he's more than what he says, it could look bad on BPC. Trying to dig into a town PR does seem a bit scummy. I'm not sure either would say much about you or Pyro since you are more arguing about the argument than about Zokar.

It sounds like you are backing down from the assertion that a Zokar lynch would give insight into BA, Pyro and I. Is that correct?

Completely abandoning the Zokar aspect of everything, you and BA (he's either legit or defending a scum-buddy) are giving me the worst vibes now. Now, with your fixation on peoples' familiarity with the game's theme (which sounds like targeting data of some sort to me), and going back into the signup thread sounds like you are really reaching, clamoring for something that isn't there. I'm not liking it. Not at all.

I disagree with BA being either legit or defending a scum-buddy. If BA is scum, I think it's more likely he was "defending" someone he knows isn't anti-town. In this case, scum-BA would be going after someone with a quasi-legit sounding reason but that reason only holds up because BA knows the player being questioned isn't scum.

So if you were scum, everyone not on your team is automatically town? Even if I was scum, how would I know that Zokar wasn't a SK? Or in a second group? Or Neutral?

Secondly, I never defended Zokar, would love to see a post where I did.

Player A says Im vanilla, kill me

Player B says seriously?

Explain to me how that is not role fishing, even slightly so on a Day 1 with no night when we are dissecting everything and explain to me how having issue with that is me defending player A.

This right here is the one post of the game so far.

"he's either legit or defending a scum-buddy"

awfully quick to that conclusion. If none of them are right, one must be scum? Trying to set up a double lynch much?

"Now, with your fixation on peoples' familiarity with the game's theme (which sounds like targeting data of some sort to me)"

lol, "targetting data".
