The Gunslinger grimaced as the priest's housekeeper spread her salve and worked it into his hip. Grimaced ... but didn't cry out. Even after the centuries of wear had done their worst to his body, he still remembered well the face of his father. Besides, she was what passed for a healer in this part of what had once been mid-world, and the local folks all swore by her remedies.

Wasn't the dry twist already fading from her treatments? Roland shuddered at the thought of the fast approaching day when his body would fail to obey his mind. When mind no longer masters body ...

The gunslinger's joints may be starting to fail on him, but his senses remained as sharp as ever, and what his ears heard meant nothing good. He called out to his ka mates as he quickly slung his gun and bucka back around his hips and sprang to action. The mob was already gathering and perhaps it was not yet too late to intervene. Had he not been trained in the arts of diplomacy as well as the way of the gun? The gunslinger grimaced as he saw the steely hard looks on the faces in the gathering crowd. There would be little said that these folk would hear.

Eddie and Jake raced to his side, slightly out of breath, and began to step towarrds Rosalita as the crowd pressed in, calling out accusations agianst her. Roland's harsh whisper stopped them immediately, "Hile, gunslingers. Remember the faces of your fathers. These are not our people. These are not our ways. We shall not interfere."

Jake turned and looked into Roland's eyes, communication passing between the two silently. The gunslinger shook his head slightly and put his heavy hand on Jake's shoulder and exerted the pressure necessary to turn him to watch. If there was one thing it meant to be a gunslinger, watching the hard things was it.

The mob had now reached a fever pitch, and Father Callahan's protestations would be of no avail. His wild eyes made contact with the gunslinger's, and Roland simply bowed his head for a moment and then gave the slightest shake to the negative. For a moment, anger perhaps bordering upon hatred flared up in the old priest's eyes, but then the fire seemed to go out within him and he moved aside, letting the mob gain access to what they sought.

Long after the deed was done and the townsfolk had dispersed, safe in the knowledge that they weren't really guilty ... it had been the work of the crowd ... the ka-tet sat wearily with the old priest, giving what comfort could be given by being with one agrieved.

After a long silence, Eddie spoke up with a raspy question; "Why?". Roland looked upon him sadly as Oy mimicked the question "'ake, eye?"

Jake, as true a gunslinger as ever was born in Gilead, straightened his shoulders and said simply "Why is a crooked letter and can't be made straight."

After that, the night stretched out in silence.

I want to take an opportunity to give a warning to the game. Everyone posted yesterday but by my count 3 people only posted once. I realize everyone has a real life but asking for 2 posts in a 48 hour day phase is a very low requirement. I hate to modkill and upset the numbers balance, but day 1 was the end of the grace period. Beginning with Day 2, I will modkill at end of day anyone who doesn't meet the post requirements.

I don't want to be a bastard mod or anything, but it's not fair to the people who wanted to play but couldn't commit to the post requirement and therefore passed up on a game they wanted to participate in if I just ignore the post requirement.

The night wasn't especially chilly, and it seemed that so long as they stayed upon the path of the beam, the weather stayed mostly calm, so as the night approached the dawn, the fire had died down to a few glowing embers. Everyone lay curled up asleep, even Jake whose turn it was to stand watch. Can you blame the young lad, constant player? What true danger has this Ka-Tet yet faced? Ka and combat have not yet taught them to be wary, and the gunslinger Roland cannot be ever watchful in their stead.

Even if Eddie had been on watch and alert, and even had he seen the danger approaching, he would not have believed until it was too late. After all, hadn't he watched Jack Andolini be eaten alive by the Lobstrosities? For Eddie and his ka-tet to not yet know the extent of the Crimson King's power, nor the many worlds in which his influence grows. And this Jack Andolini comes from the Keystone world, where sometime later for the Ka-tet, he will fail in ambushing Eddie and Roland and lose most of his men in the battle. For him, the battle is fresh in mind and the idea of revenge dominates his every thought, feeding and festering upon him like some alient parasite.

There is one person in the camp; however, who is never entirely relaxed. If you asked Detta Walker what she thought of Susannah Dean, the first word you might get back would be "soft". The rest would be considerably less polite. The problem for Detta was that it was becoming harder and harder to exert control. If the attack had come any later, she may not have been able to exert control. As it happens; however, Detta is aware and in control as Jack Andolini carefully approaches the camp, with murder in his eyes.

She knows that revealing herself and her ability to take control of Susannah will result in the finall loss of self. She knows that Detta Walker will finally and forever cease to be a separate person. She knows that by accepting and acting upon the gunslinger's training she will be swallowed up forever into Sussanah, never to emerge again as herself, but still Detta reaches quietly for the heavy pistol with its sandalwood grip, careful not to wake any of the sleeping members of the Ka-tet. This was her job to do, even if it was to save some "honky mahfah".

The blast of the ancient revolver reverberated throughout the small valley in which the Ka-Tet was camped, immediately rousing everyone to their feet, guns in hand, nearly immediately to full alert.

Detta Walker looked to the gunslinger and let loose a laugh. "You owe me one now you honky mahfah!" she cried before Susannah reasserted control. Susannah looked at the gunslinger questioningly, as if coming to awareness from a fog, then turned her gaze to the body of Jack Andolini. A sudden realization of what had happened washed over her.

Raising herself up on what remained of her legs, Susannah turned to her Dinh and confessed "I have forgotten the face of my father. I was two women ... I who was and I who had no right to be. Now I am three women ... the one who was; the one who had no right to be; and now I am the woman you have saved. I thank you gunslinger."

Bad Ash was killed. He was Jack Andolini. Affiliation: The Red

There are 19 players left. It takes 10 to lynch and 11 to lock

The town has randomly been assigned today as their bonus day for the twilight phase. This ability did not begin until this day phase began and will be in effect until the next day phase begins.

So, is it safe to assume the random mafia kill was our bonus? Or is there something happening today that is the bonus?

It may or may not be safe to believe CG from now on. The problem being: we don't know if CG is town or some anti-town neutral role. I think we can safely say that CG is not mafia though. But I suspect that CG is most likely town anyway.

I'm assuming that thefranklin's role was doc, unless "Healer" is another role that I'm unaware of. I think it's just to stay within theme of the game.

Wrote this out yesterday:

You post and have fun, then don't for a bit?

I haven't seen an serious post from you all game, it all feels like joking around, and I have never seen this from you before. Even in this post, it's just random mumbling of nothings.

I would place a vote on you if I weren't sure you had a hidden agenda behind the increasingly weird gameplay.

To clarify;I'm having fun posting, then I'm having fun reading and not posting. Think I thanked you in Batman game for showing me how I could play and have fun so I'm taking a page from your book and posting whatever I feel like posting...which leads me to wonder why you've changed your style so much *cough* scum *cough*

I see 0 benefit for an early VT claim like that.

If you really are VT then you just gave up your biggest power: getting night killed. Now the mafia will likely leave you alone.

If you're scum then you won't die at night, obviously.

So now you will stay alive and we will keep asking why.

I think you need to go.

LOL, getting night killed is my biggest power? Voting is my only power! You're still on my list, scumbucket.

I won't vote for cdm today. His role claim is a town role claim and one that I think can be important at some scenario. Thinking of the hidden mechanics here. All my knowledge of his character is from the wikia, and that was very pro town. There is, of course, the chance that he is fake claiming. I take that chance.
I need no wiki! I am well versed in the lore.

Yes, franklin was the doc.

Which leads us to the question: what happened last night? No mafia kill means... roleblocker? back-up doc (nurse)? A second doc? A bulletproof town?

Obviously we can't figure out what happened, but it's worth keeping in mind as we move forward.

Uh I'm pretty sure this is actually just Freaky Friday and I'm Jamie Lee Curtis (you're Lindsay Lohan, sorry).

CG was the only person who voted for Bad Ash who was just revealed to be scum, and had arguments for it I think? So either CG is clever and accused one of his friends to throw off suspicion, or he's not scum.

The one dead Scum is a bit odd and I'm not sure what to make of it. Zauper gave a few ideas to which I might add: PGO, some kind of bodyguard.

The story also doesn't really make any sense to me, not sure if that's important or not to the game.

In other forums I've played in, the term 'healer' has been used instead of 'doc'. They seem interchangeable to me and there is nothing else I can think of that it could mean?

Makes sense. We don't use them interchangeably on these forums though, so that's likely where the confusion is.

Hmm, so. I think it's worth looking at some of the pile on votes that caused the day 1 lynch. Not the ones at the last second that caused a lynch pre day-end, but ones maybe 1-2 hours out. I'd be looking at these guys: Kestegs, Pharphis, Moar, Sathoris, Laarz, Gwaihir to defend their reasoning for their vote.

I'm just going to quickly throw a very very very rough list of what alignment I think some players are, and this is just based off connections I've seen between posts and irregular comments, etc.

Don't take any of this as final, it's partly being put here for reference and to see if anyone thinks the same way or has any more connections to add.

Mafia:
kestegsbad ash
sathoris

Unsure (closer to top means more likely to be mafia, closer to bottom means more likely to be town):
laarz
numbers
jcakes
cdm
BPC
pharph
moar

Town:
coju
cg
goryani
gwaihir

If you have any questions, ask. I'm not sure if I'll remember the connections I made since I had to concentrate very hard and I've got a very irritating sunburn, but I'll try my best.

Woops, some bad formatting. Wanted to get that out as soon as possible.

Anyway, I forgot to include this:

Vote: kestegs

I'm nearly 100% sure that kestegs is mafia, this is due to connection to BA that one or two other people have pointed out as well as how the majority of his posts seem to irk me now that I look at them.

One last thing: I may have forgotten some people from that list. If they're not on there it's most likely because they haven't posted enough for me to get a read or I just missed them.

I question....like...the whole thing?

How can you possibly think those 4 are town? Even a short reasoning on each person would be really wonderful so that I can understand where you're coming from.
