Forum Mafia - The Dark Tower Game Thread

I thought the red/white thing was more than what a townie should know.

Based on what is in this thread, what do you think?

I'm not sure what the red/white thing has to do with essentially asking someone if they are a cop and got a guilty verdict.

Furthermore, I'm not sure why you put an artificial limit of this thread upon the conversation. This thread doesn't tell me my alignment/win con. As it turns out, the signup thread provided answers to the questions I asked directly. I guess I should have payed attention to Drixx when he said "Things everyone should probably know:" Whether someone paid attention, asked, or possibly was familiar enough with the lore to already know, I think everyone eventually arrives at the destination summarized in post 160 (townies should, at any rate). That you seem surprised indicates you aren't townie.

Love this type of question!

Why Phil?

Why not Phil?

I chose him because of something kestegs pointed out.

So, let's get past the specifics, since that is not the point here. It's something about the number of the beams, and how that relates somehow to the game mechanics/the game itself. Or maybe something even more obvious. Otherwise, I'm entirely wrong and you can lynch me later.

---

How do you know Phillinnicus would target a townie?

I don't. If he was a hypothetical scum with a vig, do you believe he would shoot a scum partner?

No one had any insights about today's story? Interesting.

Also, isn't it a bit early in the game for fingering people as lurkers or claiming they are "cruising by"...? We're on the first 24h of the game fer crissake.

It's fine calling him lame, but fat? Too far.

This is a serious game. I shall be seriously rude.

In terms of the overall series, she is minor. In terms of book 4, she's major.

Maybe Drixx took a page from my games and made everyones jesters

Only someone who is actually a jester would think that.

No.

Should I?

Do you?

I thought I did.
Maybe I've given some things too much weight.

Maybe you should share them and let us be the judge?

The story doesn't mean much to me since I know nothing of the lore. I had to force myself to finish it, but I gleaned nothing from it. (no offense, drixx, I'm just not into reading ;) )

1. If CG was a cop, he wouldnt have a vote on scum 6 hours into day 1. I am not sure if i should be insulted you thino i would be looking for that, eapecially if i was scum.

2. On the quoted above, i disagree.

Oh, I'm fairly clueless about the lore too :P
I do, however, know that Roland is the main character of the series.
I couldn't help but noticing the story we got delivered the night's development in past tense.

Initial thoughts were that one of the three must be correct:
1-Roland isn't an in-game role.
2-Roland is a tree-stumpy role and therefore will be around indefinitely to recount events.
3-Roland plays a such a crucial role in the game mechanics and his survival will significantly alter it (justifying a whole different storyline).

Reason I didn't immediately say this is that it's not that important at this point of the game...I just thought it odd no one commented on the story's structure and possible implications.

I would say Unfound could be a group of neutrals.

And what's with all the voting?!?! Good grief, we sure have become a bloodthirsty lot now??
So let's pour out some for our homie Pyro................wait, I'm not wasting booze!! Howza 'bout we just turn on the porch light or maybe do the scented candle thingy??

Well if you're pouring,here's my glass:guiness:

That's lurker talk!

I'll shut up if people want me to and let phar take over for fanboy haha.

The character Susan Delgado IS in the past. Book four of the series is basically Roland telling his ka-tet a story from like forty years ago. This theory can be disproven if another write up is past tensed when it shouldn't be, but for this one it should be.

This is true.
Also, you're a bigger fanboy then me, fo sho.

I want to hear more from cdm!
Cdm, could you list 1-4 people you think are scummiest?

Only thing I really have so far is a connection between kestegs and bad ash.
If we decide to lynch BA this go around and he turns up town, I'd say CG is next for this d1 push. Although (coju's thoughts ahead:
pushing to lynch a townie on d1 as a scum isn't a good idea, imo. If BA does indeed turn up to be town, I'd question everything CG posted from here on out until we got a true read on him, but lynching him directly the next day may still be a good idea just to see who does and doesn't vote him. If mafia got night chat, they all may be voting CG just to get town points, ya'know? And we all like to use WIFOM in our playstyles when we have the chance (just look at the wifoa game we had).
/end coju's thoughts)
But, if BA winds up town, I'd be looking at kestegs for another good go around.

So by me reading these posts, I think everyone is a Jester?

I can't remember anymore, but I think in the series Susan is a minor character???

I think it is very interesting that you called the role a Jester. We've been playing mafia for about the same amount of time and we haven't heard the role be called that, I even had to look in the wiki. Any particular reason you used that term?

I couldn't come up with anything as it seems to mostly be a retelling of the plot in the books to explain who died. Perhaps there is something in there but I've got nothing. Maybe future days will have some more info available? Drixx did say there would be hidden mechanics. Perhaps they could be gleaned form the stories.
Also, isn't it a bit early in the game for fingering people as lurkers or claiming they are "cruising by"...? We're on the first 24h of the game fer crissake.
One should never finger a lurker

It's in Drixx's PM to you where he tells you to claim a different name than the one in the beginning of the PM. Mine tells me to claim VT, yours any different?

Are you serious? What shall you not claim then?
That's BS anyway. No host would tell you what to claim anyway.

You either slipped pretty hard or tried to bait a new player which I see as very rude.

Vote: Sathoris

Are you not supposed to bait mafia?

I still want to hear from cdm, btw.

Are you not supposed to be helpful to new players? They don't know our customs.

Screw it. Do me the favour of lynching me if no obvious scum shows up. I'm kind of irritated at the game already and don't know if that will get better. It probably will if I get more into the game, but who knows if I will. Think I'm just irritated tonight anyway. I considered a modkill, but that might result in a no flip, so that's out of the question.
