Ender's Mafia Game

By the by, I used the word I had blanked out because I figured if bugger didn't get blanked, it wouldn't either. Neither word is particularly offensive in Australia, but it was my understanding that bugger was the more offensive of the two in the UK.

FoE needs to be killed. Goryani needs to be killed tomorrow, if just to keep the irresponsibility at bay.

I am Dink Meeker. I am the town cop.

Night #1 - Caluin Graye - Town
Night #2 - Pyrotechnician - Town
Night #3 - Sathoris - Town

It's no wonder Goryani confirmed that he was given the role but didn't seem to want to share it with us. There was still a lot of time left in the day and all I asked was time to hear back from the game mod before I decided what to do with the information I have. I went back and forth on whether to go ahead and post this or not, but I figure the town needs some clarity just at the moment.

It should now make sense why I pushed Jason. I cannot say for sure more info other than the affiliation, because that's the extent of the info I get.

What I do know is that FoE is almost certainly scum. Jason seems to be legit but there's a small bit of doubt. Goryani seems dangerous (and there's no guarantee that Gory's role is a town role. It could be a mafia or a neutral role. The failure to share Sathoris' flip info (at least affiliation) is troubling to me).

I don't expect that I can live much longer (perhaps a doc save or some clever bus driver work if there is a town bus driver), but I do have a couple people in mind for whatever investigations I live to tell about. Feel free to make a case if you think I ought to investigate someone in particular. In fact, a suspect list now in writing from everyone may be quite useful when it comes down to it late in the game.

I had hoped to have more info than this but I judged it prudent. I hope those who second guess my decision will understand that I have a history of causing the town to rabbit trail when I'm a townie, and I was starting to get that vibe in this game. Better to get as much info out as possible and take myself out of the "easy distraction" equation for the mafioso.

@zemaj - Suspense a bit less now?

I will tell you what I think, thanks for the invitation.

If goryani was a town vig he would have used it on the person who has a growing by the minute pile of evidence against him and would have used it early in the day after the information was revealed. His lack of judgement on this and then suggestion of multiple mafia possibility when there has been no such indication of there being one yet puts him at the scum le da scum.

a bit... I have one you definitely need to check: yourself

an insane/paranoid cop is a very dangerous thing, and I am inclined to agree with Gory in that multiple vigs seems improbable, yet if Sath was townie, why would he lie?

As far as I understand the insane cop, they get the opposite result of what is true. Dink Meeker, as a character, does have a bit of the "crazy" in the story, but Caluin Graye being killed the first night seems to confirm that my investigations are sound.

Why is it interesting? Because one of the scum apologised to his/her/its buddies for not being present at the end of day 2 in order to sway the voting. This confirms FoE as 100% scum, which in turn casts serious doubt on Goryani. Whoever it is, they mentioned the only way they would have succeeded in swaying the voting is with a false Vigilante claim (I don't follow their thinking, but that's what they said). This scum also cursed in a way very reminiscent (eerily so) of Pyro a few posts above.

The rest was stating they need to get rid of someone (me, presumably, in which case Goryani may be just an idiot and not scum), and that they need to protect someone else, at the cost of stopping them from using his ability (dunno how that would work, but it's very clear that protection = no ability).

Personally, due to the foul-mouthed mimicry of what I heard overnight, and the absence from the thread for the 24 hours leading up to the lynch, I believe Pyro is scum. However, he can wait for tomorrow, as can Goryani. Today,

Unvote: Goryani

Vote: FredOfErik

Let's get things rolling for the town.

Insane Cop - Gets incorrect response (Caluin Graye death seems to rule this out)
Paranoid Cop - Always gets guilty result (obviously out)
Naive Cop - Always gets innocent (on the table, but impossible to check and considered a "bastard" role by most).

I'm going to have to assume that given the results and the mafia kill choices, the most likely result is that I am a reliable/sane cop.

Drixx posted that while I was writing my post. If it's not Pyro, it's someone who swears the same way as him.

LOL that effort.

I'm glad the thread is suddenly not as dead, at least.

Edit: To answer earlier questions, in this game, vig day kill rolls are not released to public. The killer is, however. I asked to be notified of when a kill would take place at least somewhat in advance just to make things official and run smoothly.

Lots of information out of the blue. It pretty much confirms FoE as scum and casts a disconcerting shadow over Goryani. As to which type of cop Drixx is, there's no surefire way to determine if he's sane or not.

As for the possible options:

  • Sane Cop: Always gets correct results (i.e. "guilty" for anti-Town roles and "innocent" for pro-Town roles)
  • Insane Cop: Always gets incorrect results (i.e. "guilty" for pro-Town roles and "innocent" for anti-Town roles)
Once the player realizes they are insane, they can generally produce effective results by reporting the opposite of what they discover.
  • Paranoid Cop: Always gets "guilty" results
Once the Cop discovers their sanity, they may stop investigating, as all results are equally useless.
  • Naive Cop: Always gets "innocent" results
This may be the most common variant sanity used, as it masks Scum even if the Cop dies early.
  • Random Cop: Gets a randomized result without regard to who is investigated
This is a bastard role and almost never used

I can either see him being a sane cop or naive cop, with a less likely chance of him being an insane cop or possibly a random cop, although the last choice is very unlikely. We can effectively rule out paranoid cop.

I'm not so sure about him getting town roles for all three nights, since Sath was on my scumdar. It leads me to believe it's more likely he's a naive cop, although it could just be the roll of the dice. We'll find out if he lands a guilty result in the future.

Off of the mafia scum wiki it said naive cop is most likely the most common variant. Not sure if that applies to this forum's mafia games though.

Nothing applies to anything, ever. ;)

No1 ever said there was any mafia in this game.
