ACan you clarify the vote 2 lynch/lock numbers for today? Can there be a vote 2 lynch without a lock?

In the same post the vote updates there are the lynch/lock numbers.

As per rule 7.
V1 Lock = 13, lynch = 12
V2 Lynch =19

I would Google it, but considering the controversy that Google's results for Postman stirred up I want to see what the regular players have to say first. If so, I guess we may have found our Sam. That is pure conjecture, of course, but all we can really do now is try to turn conjecture into reasonable guesses, and one cannot exist without the other.

Nobody has really brought any valid arguments against me since the beginning of the day phase, which I explained. I can't rebut "he seems odd"

It is easy to shrug off any points made against you as invalid. It is a very simple and convenient way to answer those points without actually doing so. Post 191 by Goryani outlines some excellent points that barely got a second lookr from the rest of the Town. same goes for your gloating after the Cop's death. That several people have jumped to you defence, some of them like Pancakeman, who has been a lurker this game, makes me even more certain that information-wise you are far and away the best lynch for today.

Bringing me to Mals point:

I have been much more quiet because i am still learning how to play mafia, Yesterday when i said a simple and IMO innocent comment it drew massive heat, so for now i am going to observe and keep my thoughts quiet untill i can see a real benefit of me saying them

Here are my thoughts so far

-Kestegs is a bit odd, not so much scummy but just being very elusive in his awnsers like a polititian.
-martin long is being very erratic and suspicious, he is #1 on my scum list
-Moar comes across OK but he and martin keep launching new attacks that have no real backing alot of the time, no trust here
-OMG has to go, i have said why

That is a scum tell. Mafia tend to sit on the fence. They tend to do answer questions vaguely and diplomatically or dodge them altogether. Playing the politician, the diplomat. Unless of them is on the chopping block, they tend not to take sides and keep their options open because they already know who those sides are.

I have not. He went back in hiding as soon as he got any sort of heat. There are may lurkers in the game and each one should be seriously looked at, and with votes, rather than given a pass.

This applies to the other lurkers such as Uraj and Frozzzen, the latter's major contribution thus far has been to come out of lurking to defend kestegs.

No comments on Martin, Solar?

I am not saying that we should lynch the lurkers on the first day. What I am saying is not to let them slide, the further and further the game goes on.


I don't think anyone can say that ML is a truly bad candidate for today. I just feel that he is not the best. Good points for his lynch:


- he has failed to answer Goryani's questions.
- Sathoris was killed, going after him the previous day.
- He was trying to deflect heat left and right, when under pressure.


However, where do we go from there? If he flips Scum? If he flips Town?


What stuck me strange is that he votes for Nulio in post # 283. Why? Nulio had 0% chance of getting lynched today. Alternate candidates in Malevolent and kestegs were available, and should he wanted to get the train swung away from him he could have voted for either of them. But Nulio? Really?


Possibilities that occurred to me :


- he is Scum and both candidates are his Scum buddies and he does not want to get either of them lynched, so he votes a Townie. Unlikely because both alternate candidates the would then have bussed him.


- he is Town, and voting for someone that he truly believes is Scum.

- he is either Scum or Town, and absolutely anyone will do at that point to get him out of the spotlight.

First of all, I think he will flip scum. And if he does that - great.

If he doesn't there has still been a lot of talk about him, a lot of post regarding him, and there are some specific people that would probably be in the spotlight.

I see no solution that I would be nearly as satisfied with as lynching him.

I don't buy that kegs and ML should be on the same team. Both have been quite aggresive towards each other. The Mal/ML scenario has struck me, and if it turns out to be relevant I'd probably dig deeper into it.

No one knows if he has a post restriction or if he is just gabbering. I think that this 'post restriction' would be way too elaborate to get as a role. He has made no attempt to talk to us and inform us of any restrictions. To me it seems like he's just posting irrelevant material.

In the SP game I contributed a lot through my restriction - people knew what I was under and how I could be fixed - with only saying one word. So, frankly, I don't see the irony.

Well I do see it. PLus he is RP'ing a character that certainly seems to be a town role (bartender)

In case you missed my question to you earlier: How many mafia games have you won while being anti-town?

I'm not sure that was directed at me, but I'll answer it anyway. I've played 2 games and have been mafia in both. I believe both have been won by the mafia (not sure about the first one, sure about the 2nd). That was back in 2007 I think.

It certainly does not do you any favours, now does it? If he is scum, why would he not jump to your defence? You had a mini train going for you already at that point. Why would he wait until the possibility of that train gathering speed?

My apologies, I asked ThunderCat to check the tally and he noticed I had a few issues. IE being unable to count/double counting where people have revoted.

I've redone the count from scratch, he's checked it and says it's ok now.

I don't have Mal on my scum list as of now. Will reread the arguments against him.
Kestegs is there though and I've tried making a post about why. I can't. And I think the reason for that is exactly what Mal writes. He's slippery. Not giving enough substance of pointing him out. We got the comment about the cop which is mafia tell though.

Let's assume that both Martin and kestegs are mafia, but not Mal. Then we have kestegs bussing Martin. Can't see the vote tally right now, but his vote for Martin came in post 284 after there were already some votes on Martin, but not too many I think. There was also much of the day left to swing things around and build a new case against somebody else (see Solar Ice).

Now let's assume Mal is also anti-town. He voted for Martin in post 246 and labels kestegs as "not so much scummy". That can very well be scum defending scum, but I am not convinced. And if he bussed Martin, then kestegs should not have done it. That leads me to think that they are not on the same team.

Then there is also the possibility that Martin and kestegs are both anti-town but not a team (i.e. mafia and SK). My gutfeeling says Martin SK and kestegs mafia in that scenario which also allows for Mal being mafia.

Conclusion: My head hurts. Martin is #1 on my scumlist, kestegs is #2, Noodle #3 and Mal I don't know.

Nobody is being ignored, you are trying to deflect from good targets, that is the issue. Martin and Mal should be top suspects IMO right now.
