Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

What version of atma/gomule i have to use for 1.10a characters?

I have little experience time traveling myself, but assuming that you are playing expansion. The newest version for both, ATMA and GoMule, should be backwards compatible. It is only 1.09 or earlier and classic that GoMule has fits about, if I recall correctly. With ATMA the newest version should be compatible with any version of Diablo 2. Neither ATMA nor GoMule should corrupt the character at all. Though if you are too worried and want a more definitive answer please either try to PM Thyiad, she might know, keep backups of your characters and/or wait for someone who has time traveled between patches.

P.S. Sorry Thy if you do not know the answer to this question, but I assume you do since you have to answer questions about the policy on time traveling.

I have tried atma IV/V and Gomule, but non of them work.

Okay, could you be a little more specific when you mean they do not work. Here are some questions that might help us if you answer some if not all of them. Please take your time and answer them carefully. I'm only trying to help.

What version of windows are you using? Are you playing expansion? which I assume you are. Are you getting the latest version of both from the front page's link? What errors if any are you getting?

Did you time travel correctly? Meaning that you only brought items forward and not backward. Look here for the correct way to time travel if you are trying to do that, under the heading 'The 3 Laws of Timetraveling'

I see in your other posts you are trying to run trendshadow, did you get it to work? I do not use trendshadow as above I do not timetravel yet, but that info might help someone else with your post.

What items do you have on your characters, as in mods? That might help some determine whether or not its the items like listed above your reply. Thanks Kimppi for the heads up.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

On a Mac.
Just re-installed D2X latest version due to a persistent "Unrecoverable internal error 7f15588 line 1437"

(how scary isn't it that I typed that all from memory?)

Re-installed the 1.13c RWM

RRM didn't seem to come with it.
Prior to my recent troubles runes appeared in red when they dropped.

Confirm/deny that this is as intended with the latest 1.13c RWM?

Cheers to all who work on this type of stuff. I'm more than happy to freeload on your hard work. Much respect to the non-freeloaders.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

The runes are colored orange in 1.13 vanilla so there isn't really any use for RRM.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Except now the runes are coloured white in game.

In other news the keyboard shortcut "N" for Nightmare difficulty isn't working anymore, when it was working before I re-installed everything yesterday. Weird.

Did I install a different RWM??

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Are you sure the game is version 1.13?

well bugger me, 1.12 showed up - how the ... did that happen?? I just downloaded the latest from battle.net

brb, investigationing in progress, warpaint has been applied

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

The battle.net installer is only 1.12 from what I remember. Connect to b.net and it should download the latest patch.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

ARRGH

currently re-re-re-installing

and apparently the reinstall wants to grab a file that was deleted

*grumble* gotta find some registry-type files and delete them I guess

EDIT: fixed.

1. delete all the old libraries and stuff that D2 leaves behind (instructions on battle.net website classic games support)
2. re-install D2
3. re-install D2X
4. connect to B.net for upgrade from 1.12 to 1.13
5. re-install RWM for Mac
6. all's fine ...so far no crashes

Thank you for effort to help me:thumbup:. Here are answers.

I am using windows xp version. I am playing 1.09d expansion version. I have downloaded the latest version of atma IV/V and gomule. Time travelled correctly (the only transfers were forward from 1.09d to 1.10a using tcp/ip game).Trendshadow works fine for me.

Error in atma 5, then i try to open 1.10a character:
Code:
This is a 1.10 beta save file. Please use atma 4 to load this.
Unable to load character file

Atma 4 open empty characters, but if i put any items in it drops this error:
Code:
Failed attempt to read a 1.10a item
Failed to analyze savegame
Unable to load character file

Flavie reports are now done through gomule, so just download gomule. unless there is a flavie reporting agent that is still separate that i am unaware of, but I don't think so, since it has to get your item info from somewhere it just makes sense that they work together.

Ahh, I see it now! Thanks :)

As I did some research and was preparing to install 1.10a and have a go at it myself to see if I could get it to work. I went to download ATMA IV and found this info. I have somewhat good news, but a whole lot of bad news to give you. I'm not sure where you downloaded ATMA IV, but just below the download link in the official download webpage there is a little blurb about your situation.
http://atma.incgamers.com/download.shtml

ATMA webpage said:
Note: ATMA IV currently supports v1.10s Beta ONLY and NOT v1.10a and NOT the v1.10 final release. The update that will support the new official 1.10+ versions of D2:LOD is ATMA V.

There is a utility that will convert your 1.10a mules/stashes to 1.10s. It is called ATS (i.e 1.10"a" "to" 1.10"s") and it is now part of the ATMA distribution. It should reside in the same folder as the ATMA executable.

So as you can see ATMA probably will never support 1.10a. However, there is a conversion utility that will convert your saves from 1.10a to 1.10s. I am not sure how this works or if it works well. Sorry to give you the bad news. You can still mule items using TCP/IP games. When you want to upgrade items from 1.09d to 1.10a I would create a level 1 character in 1.09d and put the item in his inventory. Then move the save to your 1.10a save folder and open him up in 1.10a. From there you can mule (TCP/IP) the item to the character you want.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Say, I've recently started using a new computer, and I was wondering whether I can move the millions... AND MILLIONS!! (cookie if you get the reference) of gold from the old GoMule to my current one. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Say, I've recently started using a new computer, and I was wondering whether I can move the millions... AND MILLIONS!! (cookie if you get the reference) of gold from the old GoMule to my current one. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Here is a quote from my previous posts so I just copied it and pasted it here. You should be able to follow the steps for GoMule twice, instead of the steps for ATMA, in order to transfer the gold.

***THIS IS AN ADVANCED TIP NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY***

***ONLY FOR TRANSFERRING MONEY TO AND FROM PROGRAMS***

***Take extra caution this might mess up your gold supply***

***Be sure to close each program completely before trying this***

ATMA
***Be sure it is closed before trying this***
To change the amount in your ATMA stash to 0(zero) you open up your ATMA_CONFIG folder inside there should be a file called, ATMA_config.ini Open this file with your text editor (use Notepad) and under the header [Data] there should be a listing of bank_funds= Write this number down and change it to 0. So that the line reads bank_funds=0 Save the file and close up Notepad. You can now open and check ATMA to see if the gold is now indeed 0 in ATMA.

Now for GoMule
***Be sure it is closed before trying this***
Go into your projects folder and look for a file called project.properties (NOT projectS.properties, no plural on project, the file you want should be, one folder under the folder that holds that file). This file can be opened with a text editor as well (Notepad). There is a line for bank= just use a calculator to add the amount that is there with the amount of ATMA gold you written down earlier using a calculator. Then type in the total amount to the right of the equal sign (=) Close the file and open GoMule, your new gold amount should be displayed in GoMule correctly.

Example if you had 1000 in GoMule and transferred 1000 gold from ATMA. Your amount looks like this bank=2000

Thank you for reading this and PLEASE do not use this for any other purpose other than the one requested.

P.S. Sorry for all the bureaucratic red tape, but I'm trying to protect mine and your butt. ;) Hope this works for you.
