Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Hey guys , with the unexpected ladder reset I am considering playing SP only .

Now , I want to use GoMule , but when I go to save it , Mcafee tries to block it , saying it has unwanted / spyware / adware , is that just due to the nature of the file ?

Cheers

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Ye, these progs sometimes show as false positives. As long as you download it from the official site you should have no problems, you should be able to force it to download somehow or else just disable your AV.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

.7z is a .zip file. Renaming from .7z to .zip should work absolutely fine. Always has before. Maybe it's a Vista thing. Let me know please.

Seemed to work fine once I downloaded 7zip, but windows would do nothing with the renamed file.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I have the runewords folder in the diablo ii folder, I have to rename game.exe to 'game.exe -direct -txt' with spaces? I also don't have a place to put 'start in..' when I open the file properties. I'm not sure where to go after putting the runeword folder into the D2 folder.

Ok, nevermind, got it to work! YAY!! my insight is up : )

EDIT: Didn't see you got it working. Insight is great to see working isn't it.

When you right click on your D2 launch icon in 'Target' you add -direct -txt with spaces. So you got that correct. Now under 'Target' there will be an entry labeled 'Start in' and the entry yields the address of where it starts. ( for me: "C:\Program Files\Diablo II/Runewords").

If you don't see that 'Start in' line take a screen shot of it as I'm curious as to why you wouldn't see it.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I've been using ATMA V with no problems but I recently tried using GoMule and it seemed to be working fine at first, but I realized that 3 of my chars don't load properly. Every time I try to load them in GoMule it loads the same file, so it loads my lvl 11 sorc even though that sorc is lvl 28 now and has different items. I read most of the other posts and tried changing the security settings for my Save folder but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

edit: Using Vista btw.

I would suggest if you have the time and patcience to uninstall Diablo 2 and reinstalling it somewhere other than the programs folder. It can be moved into your my documents folder. The reason you are getting this is probably because of windows trying to protect the programs files folder. If you are not logged in as an admin you will not be able to change the files in the programs folder and thus still have your older saves from say a copy over from a backup. Your actual save is here, I use win7, but it should be the similar if not the same. As long as you have hidden folders/files viewable this should be easy.

Navigate here...
C: \Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Diablo II\save (may need (x86) if you have 64bit)
Replace User_Name with your log on name and you should be all set. Once you copy over your save folder you can reinstall diablo 2 to your my documents folder and then replace your save folder. Now once you open your characters from the my documents folder you will not have to worry about permissions at all. Please keep a backup of both save folders til you are sure this worked completely.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

hey guys
i have a question.
cause the reset is coming i want to play a bit sp and i want to if there is a prog/mod that creats runewords/unique items?

anyone knows

t4t

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

We don't create runewords or uniques in the SPF using mods/hacks.

Check the first post of this thread and look for information on RWM; that enables ladder-only runewords in SP. The runes and items you need to find yourself. :)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Yea i know. But i want to know if there is any prog that do that.

And what means spf?

and sorry for bad englisch :)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

This is the Single Player Forum Forum (SPF).

RWM to enable ladder runewords is linked to in the first post.

If you are talking about editing/hacking then we will not help you because that is not allowed here.

Please do not post links or information about hacking/warez/cheats.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Does anyone know where can I find the source code for the GoMule in the first post.

I have tried to get source from sourceforge.net CVS, and the latest version I found there yield this after build:

screenshot

As you can see, it's tab based window, not child-window based.
Also, the data file in d2111 is not up-to-date.

I'm trying to fix some minor bugs and maybe add new features to it.
Does anyone have the source code or know where to get it?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

@sylecn: Take a look at the .jar file, it should have the source in it. I've been thinking of adding a couple of minor features (perfect grail tracking and ability to access ATMA gold banks) also.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

@ancalagon the black
Thanks for the reply. Yes, there are .java files in the jar file, but they are not organized as a project, thus I can't edit source & rebuild the jar file.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

sylecn - you can try PMing the author silospen. However, please be aware that if the 'new features' you want to implement are what I think they are then I suspect he isn't going to be very cooperative.

Mod making is done at the Phrozen Keep. Perhaps you'd have more luck there in finding the type of program you wish and which is not acceptable here. I think that's as much help as we are able to give you. :)

EDIT:
My apologies sylecn, I appear to have confused you with sharyn. Blame it on old age. :)

@Thyiad
New features will be designed for the single purpose of muling, which is the goal of GoMule. It's not about cheating or mod making. I always play legally. :)

I'll try PM silospen.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I downloaded Atma and used it to trade a couple of little things. Now, the characters I edited aren't showing up in the game, but I can still open them with ATMA. I can't find a .d2s file for those characters.

We need a little bit more info from you. Namely are you using windows vista or windows 7?

If you are then ATMA may be accessing and making changes to a virtual character. The reason is that starting with windows vista Microsoft decided that it wanted to increase security, one measure was that not allowing programs changing the program files folder if they are not supposed to. Thus the virtual folders were born. You will need to enable hidden files/folders and go to here.
C: \Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files\Diablo II\save
Change User_Name with your log on name and you should be able to find your saves. If your windows is 64bit the "Program Files" folder will look like this instead "Program Files (x86)"

Once you find out which are the most current I would suggest backing them up and reinstalling/moving your Diablo2 folder outside of the program files folder. This will eliminate all your woes. Try to remember which items you have muled as there is a possibility that you might dupe these accidentally.

Good luck
