Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

This questions has been asked several times and I still can't get it to work. I have just got a new computer, running on Windows 7.0, and have installed D2 and transferred my characters to this one. It works good. ATMA and my stashes: not so much.

On my old computer it took me a while and some searching in this forum to find the files in the virtualStore folder etc and after that it worked well. Now I can't find it on the new one, the VirtualStore folder is there but it is empty. I have enabled Hidden folders so that is not the problem, the problem is that there is not even a Program Files (x86) folder in there...

I suspect it has something to do with the installing of ATMA itself? Since 1.13 I took the files for 1.13 directly and there is no installer .exe like before. I just took the zip file; unzipped it and started the ATMA.exe. Now I can load my characters but I can't create stashes or find my old ones.

I moved the ATMA V directory into the program files (x86) folder and it looks very similar to the setup of my old computer. It's just that it doesn't work... Help?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Is this a pathing issue? The 1.13c ATMA is my installation; it uses my path ways. Have you changed the directory where it loads/saves.

(While I think about it, I'm going to remove those files from that .zip)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I guess it might be. But I don't know what to change and into what? I know there is an instruction to change the path of ATMA save folder but it is not really clear to me into what... I have tried to point to the directory of ATMA V, into ATMA Config etc and nothing works.

Of the files in the install, I should use the zip file: ATMA V for 1.13c. This zip I simply save somewhere, unzip and run the exe? From that place? Does it matter? Should I have the unzipped folder in the program file (x86)?

queenEm - I have replaced the ATMA V for 1.13c zip for one which uses the desktop as the default. So you could try downloading again. I admit I don't use Windows 7 but my usual response is make sure you're running as admin.

Any Win7 gurus out there? Alternatively, have you tried GoMule?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

It works with that new zip file!! Perfect, thanks a lot for your help. Now it's just to clear the old computer and start playing :-)

Thy, I would not consider myself a win7 guru, but I have more experience with windows 7 and its permission nightmares. I decided to install Diablo 2 again. I may not play it, but off and on though. Just having it installed will allow me to help more often with problems, or that's the hope at least. (I may get swept up into trying a grail again. Ah a fresh new start again... sigh. I wish I had not deleted all my stashes and characters)

Anyway, I copied the (new?) ATMA folder to my documents folder where I was able to create a new stash (ITAMZ) and it worked. I transferred over some keys at first to be safe. Here is where I decided to install all my Diablo 2 files/folders after learning that I do not have to go through the hassle of permissions for folders. So far I have not had to run as administrator except to install Diablo 2. Just install/copy all three programs there: ATMA, GoMule, and Diablo 2.
C: \Users\User_Name\Documents\Games\Diablo

So as long as no problems are experienced for xp or 98 (maybe vista) users I'd say leave ATMA the way it is thanks.

P.S. Before I decided to stop playing (disgaea took over for the interm) I had installed ATMA from scratch and manually updated so I had not tried your install. Now I have and know it works. What ever you did fixed it (for queenEm at least). Thanks now I do not have to manually update if I want to have ATMA. I still need to try the RWM, but it should work no problem.
Also even Microsoft games such as Dungeon Siege have a save games path in My Documents as do most Microsoft products. They believed My Documents folder was meant to be a one quick backup folder for all your needs.

Get ready for a wall of text. Be sure to read carefully unless you know about backups and are good with computers.

After a little bit of testing. I believe you messed up when you created the stash I'm afraid. I believe it was because of the / mark in between the name. Next time try a hyphen (-). It appears that ATMA does not like the / or \ mark in its stash names as it probably thinks it is a directory instead to store the stash. So that your stash would be saved in the gems folder named jewels. There is no folder named gems however and ATMA will not create the folder so when you close the stash it will not/cannot save it.

All is not lost however, as you can find your items in a backup or .org file. If you are brave enough. Copy your entire save folder inside diablo 2 to a separate location say your desktop. Then change the extensions of all your .org files inside the diablo 2 save folder (not the backup saved on your desktop) to .ds2 and then open them in ATMA. You should see your gems from which ever character you muled them from. Be careful however that you do all the name changing first. So that there are no more .org files in your save folder first as ATMA will create backups of the character each time you open and close and will probably overwrite the old Character_x.org files, which is why I told you to make a backup just in case. After you find all your gems ONLY mule those over to an appropriate stash named gems-jewels After you verify that the stash is good and only holds those gems. Delete your save folder inside your diablo 2 folder (not the desktop one) Then copy (not move) your save folder back from the desktop to the diablo 2 folder. After you verify inside diablo 2 that all your characters are where they should be and you are not missing any items or have anything extra or copies of items that you sold or muled and such. You should delete the folder from your desktop after making sure that the above is true. This will ensure there is no dupes later.

Sorry for the detailed setup I'm just trying to keep you from accidentally creating dupes or copies of items. If any of this is confusing let me know and I will try to explain it another way or in greater detail. Good luck. Just be careful that your stash is saved using the save button and missing the * from the name before you close it.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

@ Solar Ice; don't post map seeds, please. I've removed your link, changed the photo and re-uploaded it.

EDIT:
Didn't think it was intentional, just a *facepalm* moment. :)

@Thy:

Oops, sorry about that. Totally slipped my mind that ATMA shows the map seed.

ATMA bank utility + 1.13 money limits

Hey guys,

I've started again recently but still have my old reserve of cash in my ATMA bank... I wish to get rid of it but ATMA is using the old money limits which characters can carry in 1.12... So creating character to "dump" the cash on then delete is an option but would take a VERY long time since there restricted to 50,000 a go to start.

Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this so I have a clean slate money wise?

Thanks

Re: ATMA bank utility + 1.13 money limits

ATMA questions go in the Sticky at the top of the forum, please.

Try GoMule you can move larger amounts of money.

No, it's not working for me. Here's what the latest download (GoMuleR3.1_1.13.zip) does when I try banking gold to/from a 1.13 level 63 bone necro:

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

hello
does anyone knows how to fixed it when gomule show your char is disconnected?
anyway to use gomule with that char again?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

After recently re-formatting my Laptop, ATMA (5.05) does not display correctly.

New link: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/6027/onecf.jpg

What am I missing? I'm on Win XP Pro SP 3, Screen res 1400x1050(though changing resolution does not solve the problem.

Thanks.
Have you changed the font sizes in to a larger size using the display preferences on the control panel? I do not use ATMA but I seem to remember that it does not adjust its UI layout accordingly.

Please list the exact error you are getting so that we may help determine what the problem is. It is usually an item if you recently brought an item or character forward that might be it.

This is probably because gomule has not been updated to include the new gold limits. In 1.13c the gold amount you could have in your stash and character was increased by a whole lot. If you are only getting this error when trying to transfer just transfer only a little. If you are getting this error constantly and it is not letting you use that character in Gomule try ATMA and move the gold slowly but surely.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

the error I got is that when I load my char with gomule, it shows nothing on the char, only on left up corner shows the char name and 'disconnected', with atma is fine
