HC isnt that bad, its fun actually and surprisingly I havent died yet. I am forced to spend all my statpoints and skillpoints and cannot save them up like in sc. And I started to gamble which I never did in sc.

Anybody with a few spare items on euhcl?
A poor lvl 25 cowardly-bowish-barb here...the hc trade forum seems dead (the reset announcement I guess) :scratchchin:

Started my US east HCL trapsin couple of days ago. Now 43. Been an interesting journey but really crappy items so far. Now in NM. Am farming up NM Countess for some some decent runewords to stop with the mana pot chowing. Have rhyme, lore, stealth up so far. and hoping to get another 2 amns and sol for insight spirit and strength.

My normal journey
1) Act1. Not much probs here. Pretty quick runthru with 3pts Fireblast. Andariel was surprisingly easy and I farmed up the countess quite a bit for some tir runes to keep the fire blasts going

2) Act2. The time of CBS. Had a heck of a time using this thing. Hired a defiance merc and used the unique bardiche I got from the countess. Basically sat back and watch him **** the mobs :P Darn duriel was difficult but had another javazon in a public game trade me a nightsmoke for some low runes and help me with it. Basically, danced around and around using cbs.

3) Act3. Some random mob gave me an ethereal enhanced dmg pike :D Max dmg around 141. Needless to say, Mr defiance merc made running through act 3 pretty much a cake walk. And LS made mephisto look like the chum he is.

4) Act4. Diablo. Usually, this gives most characters problems but not with a trapsin and fade. Has a 3 flawed diamond round shield at this point so max resists and running around so he can't use the pink lightning blast of death.

5) Act 5. Baal runs. I swear one of the palys I met either had maphack or really good knowledge of the maps (is there a map guide for normal baal). on 10 runs. he went to the throne of destruction straight, no detours.

Act 1 Nm is where I am now. There's maybe 5 public games on NM. and I'm on a weird timing GMT+8 so I predict I will be having a lonely life for a while :P If anyone is on USEast HCL, give me a whisper on ComeIntoMyWeb

"Alive" made another attempt at A4 NM after making a spirit sword and getting shadow master to lvl17 (after +skills).

Note: my shadow was tanking Diablo the hole fight. Had to recast her a lot, but with Insight merc thats not a problem. Me and merc was just standing bellow the action, while shadow and Wake of Inferno got the job done.
A lot easier than normal diablo!

Btw - leveling around exploding monsters while wearing one of those cool looking Amp Damage partyhats can be very scary:

Ah, a thread o' HC-virgins. Wait for your first 95+ death, back in the days mine got my keyboard and mouse renewed. ;)

I expect my character to die. I'm not that good. I figure I'll grieve for about 1/2 a sec, couple of screenshots, couple of excuses on this forum, then I'll be good.

i'm hardly a HC virgin. though i've not yet made it through hell w/ one yet, i've had several. only one death too. until recently ive kept HC to single player. my highest HC character before these two was a frost zealot that "died" when my harddrive bit the big one. one of my first also "died" to a different HD crash. sucked because early on i'd found gull dagger and had dreams of mfing my way through the game.

My Trapsin (Waxxed) is now lvl 62 and still in NM. She made it through NM ancients rather untouched, had a little problem with Madawac but, he eventually went down also. I may try and take down Nilathak soon too, that's gonna be a nail biter I'm sure. :wink:

I'm doing solo Worldstone runs till I lvl up to 70ish or there bouts. I still have not found anything worth a ding however she doesn't have any MF gear on. I'm a big believer in surviving versus finding stuff.

Anyhow, onward!

Well, "Alive" is dead then - doing NM Cows (!!)
It had been a while since I played last, so I figured I'd warm up on something easy before attempting to plow through the rest of Hell.
Began to lag badly halfways through cows and ran to disconnect my cable. On the nex login.. yea, its that stupid cloaced dude instead of my assa - awesome! :alright:
Turns out the new AVG 8.5 antivirus is eating my cpu BADTIME and has to be set to "low priority" in task manager everytime I restart my computer.
If not, I experience a sudden tremendous slowdown in system performance after an hour or so. AVG users be aware....

It was good fun while it lasted, but for now Ill just wait for the reset :coffee:

Sorry for you loss!

I had similar problems with AVG. I can't remember the details, but there is a program that is always running besides the regular AVG program. You can see on the window bar. I disabled that program. I still have AVG running and it does the checks, but it doesn't kill my resources (or my characters).

switch to sophos, i did after AVG made d2 unplayable at times.
