These Stickies are Made for Reading Thread - Summer 2007 i

Hay ride.

Lynn, i can imagine you wearing a straw hat and the like ...
I had a picture of me from many years ago dressed up like that.
San Francisco just had a big earthquake ...no news yet.

Heard from people in the area while playing WoW tonight.
Really? I haven't heard about that yet, I've been engrossed in the game and no one's mentioned anything that I was paying attention to...

I started my new character earlier this evening. It's a Draenei warrior, level six now.

edit - 5.6 is not big, its a big enough quake to feel, but thats about it

We haven't had any big quakes here since I've been here. The last semi-major one was a 5-point-something back when I was in elementary that rattled some windows and broke some of dishes.

He is still using his basic weapon/gear, but I like him a lot so far. I like my hunter because she can use both ranged and melee attacks effectively, and her pet is a decent fighter too.

I haven't played on my mage in ages, so she is still level 18. I'm beginning to think that melee type characters (or a combo like my hunter) are the best character type for me for this game. The caster type just doesn't seem to be working well.

As a warrior, your gear will make or break you, seriously.

Anyways, as far as quakes go, we don't get much... so 5.6 is big.

You can wear mail as a warrior, if you can't do so train it.

Not is a good time for you to stop your warrior in his/her tracks and reconsider what your race is, if at all. All classes get racial bonuses and certian abilities. You might want to look over the listing of the races themselves and check each races abilities and decide on what goes good for a warrior.

Warriors can use any weapon except wands. For armor you can use mail and you should be using mail. However for the first few low levlels, you can get away with non mail items like leather but mail is best, at level 40 you can get Plate Armor.

As far as warrior stats go, Stamina is most important, more stamina = more hitpoints, next is strength for damage followed by agility. Intelligence means very little to a warrior as it only helps with skilling weapons.

Depending on if you go for a tanking role or a DPS one you will vary your stats, but Stamina is still on top.

Weapons: 2hander for most single combat or dual wielding. 1hander+ shield for tanking. This becomes important down the road levelwise a bit.

I most enjoyed when I was arms and used big 2handed axes/polearms and could just mortal strike people into the ground and rip off fat executes, but end game you're pretty much prot

hybrid, so you can both dps and make your healer OOM

I play mostly solo, but when I group my healer never goes OOM.

See here for my talent build. This is for an 70 at endgame, while not geared towardsa total prot and tanking, it allows DPS'ing like a champ and I can tank almost anything. I don't raid currently, so I have little use for a total prot spec.
