Played that game, got 200 days /played under my belt before I finally quit (for good, heh). Its nothing like Diablo 2. If you want a way to waste your life, its the perfect game for it though. I'm sure there are people now with over 300-350+ days /played. Imagine if they live to be 50, 2% of their life spent playing a single game.
Its a weird feeling, because it makes you work so hard to be among the top. I raided 6 days a week (didnt have a job, but some did actually) to be the best guild on the server. The feelings of working on a boss for weeks and finally downing him i'll never forget. I was a warrior, and tanking a dragon named Vaelastrasz for example back in the day when there were no real "strats" and finally downing him was insane. Hearing everyone on ventrillo cheer because of all the hard work that finally paid off, good feeling.
Then I went to grind rank, the RIGHT way (as in not sharing my account). Competing against people working in shifts for Rank 14 by playing 20 hours a day took its toll, and I got burned out, stopping at Rank 12. Yeah I said 20 hours a day, alone. It all hit me it wasnt worth it, so I stopped playing for about 6 months. Played expansion for a little while and noticed everything was all the same, just reflavored, new tier sets, new instances- but essentially the same thing. Get 70, do instances, and pvp for the flavor of the month tier or pvp gear. So I quit for good
And TheSatan lived happily ever after
