Re: Zombie invasion Mafia game.

Bah, no lynch? Disappointing.

Or you could be a zombie trying to get in...

Any thoughts on what would happen if a scout did target a Zombie to bring into the town? I can think of a couple of interesting scenarios.

Preview edit;
Interesting post, Techno, some good points.
While I'm still not on board with the whole "Ankeli and Sath were trying to stop the town from discussing stuff" thing, (which I felt was take totally out of context) I do agree both Ankeli's role-hint and Noodle's reaction pointing it out do not look like usual townie play from either of them at all.

Where you at buddy? :smug:

Keeping zombies at bay.

Now why would you mention this?

I would have liked to see Valharous lynched yesterday but there was no time and I wasnt around at the end of the day.

Then why didn't you mention it if you wanted it?

since you are saying you are a survivor is there anything of use to the town that you can tell us?

Whatever side you're on, that's a bad thing to say. What prompted you to ask?

There was a police station, but no one using it. Could he have been a hidden cop?

You, the townie, doesn't know anything the cop does.

At first I thought that EITHER Noodle OR Ankeli had to be Mafia, but probably not both. As a n00b, I did not feel comfortable AT ALL about possibly voting for a Doc, but I'm starting to think that may have been the whole point. After reading and thinking quite a bit more, I think Noodle AND Ankeli are BOTH Mafia (especially considering Ankeli survived the night)! Here's what I think the chain of events really went like:

I about 80% sure Noodle and Ankeli are both Mafia. I've got my eye on a couple others, and I believe I've identified a few Townies, but I'll keep those (somewhat speculative) opinions to myself for now.

I've dabbled with that thought aswell. But my mind wanders and sees the most complex theory as the most probable. And on day one I doubt that Ankeli would drop a clue like that for Noodle to point out with both of them being mafia.

Yeah, I'm not totally sold on the "stop discussion" thing either, that's why I can't really fault Sathoris yet. I can see the basic point they were trying to make, but Ankeli's later actions seem to make it look slightly more suspicious in retrospect. They were actually the 2 people I was saying kinda creeped me out, but Ankeli is the only one that has really pinged my radar. I don't think what they were saying is inherently scummy and I could totally see a Townie saying it, but if someone WAS Mafia and they determined the Town fully understanding an utilizing rules and tactics would be bad for them, they could most certainly try to derail it.

You, the townie, doesn't know anything the cop does.
Yeah, didn't think I would. I'm still a little green, but I thought we might now if there was one in town at all. Maybe not though.

That's what I thought too, but I started thinking that he didn't initially intend for Noodle to take it up, it's just when no one else caught on, Noodle stepped forward to just give it another nudge and it fell off of the cliff. ;)

Re: Zombie invasion Mafia game.

I'll throw a wild guess: We know the game started with 22 players, and from what I've read, the Mafia tends to constitute a quarter of them, which in this case would be 6. Since it has been stated there are civilians and apparently a doctor role, I'd say there are 2 players of every starting role, which would leave 5 civilians. Despite being my first Mafia game, I believe I have a 68% accurate knowledge of everyone's role; at the very least, I know for sure who are both soldiers, both scouts, the citizen scientist and one of the scavengers. Therefore, I've decided to claim my Not-Mafia role... Why? Because I just learned the Mafia members know each other and have contact at the night phase, so it's useless to pretend that I might been of them due to them already knowing my alignment.

Moreover, I've come to the conclusion that Sathoris is a Mafia goon; he has been particularly aggressive to players who pose as neutral, with the apparent intention to make them seem as scum while being reluctant to be thought as one of them, hence trying to save himself by misdirection. I've chosen also him by ruling out the citizens and stranded civilians.

That's very suspicious. Anything said of use to the town would likely be useful to the mafia as well.

Sorry, unless Gorny is lying about his roleclaim, I know for a fact you are wrong. And Gorny has not been scummy in the slightest. So you are wrong on that account.

Re: Zombie invasion Mafia game.

Hmm? What did Gorny roleclaim? And why are roleclaims being tossed around like a salad this early in the game?

Re: Zombie invasion Mafia game.

Also, there is no evidence of a doctor role present in the game so far. the only "evidence" is Ankeli's scummy claim. In fact, there is no evidence in the game that there are any other town roles other than the 5 stated. It's possible, but not likely, as TC purposely added "0 civillians" to the status post, but has not added "0 profession" for other roles such as cop or doc. Based on my own personal take on the game, I can see 3 of each role, 5-6 civilians, 4 mafia, and maybe a special role (SK, cop, small but nonzero chance for doc, etc.) to have more than 4 mafia, especially if they have special powers as well, would be unbalancing.

I didnt read the post by Sathoris suggesting he could be a noob scum until after the day had ended (question 1)

What prompted me to say it is that a couple of people have claimed they are outside of the walls of the town. I dont think this is beneficial to the town because it could be limiting the number of people who ARE in the town walls down for the mafia to try to pick them off. Since they had already claimed to be outside the walls, I figured anything they could say to verify to other "outside survivors" would prove their potential innoncence and anything that could help the town or a scout would prove beneficial as well. Was not looking for roles by any means

That's very suspicious. Anything said of use to the town would likely be useful to the mafia as well.

Including them saying they are not apart of the inside the walls town members

Haha wonderful Val. You're living up to my expectations.

My my, what wonderous information you possess

Nice description. Could refer to any player trying to scumhunt.

Let's lynch confscum, please :)

Therefore, I've decided to claim my Not-Mafia role...

Damnit I'll humor you. What's your godrole?
