whirlwind increase attack speed break-point question (abbrievated title).

does off-hand increase attack speed affect whirlwind's multiple hit increase attack speed break-point? i know it doesn't in expansion, only on weapon, but unsure in classic.

cool, just making sure,

And it definately does NOT effect WW in classic. Read patch.txt in your D2 install folder.

have expansion installed, so patch.txt is expansion.

what about berserk? what are increase attack speed break-points? your replies are appreciated.

IAS has no effect on whirlwind in classic

So my 226 exec with no IAS makes no difference?

When trying to trade it, people have come up with comments like "it is too slow" crazy. maybe I should make a sword barb then.

ty for the info.

It's a sad state of affairs, but people will trade more for a 40ias 220exec than a 221 w/out ias. Now... maybe they are planning on building a frenzy barb... :uhhuh: ...just thinking of frenzy barbs... pangs of nostalgia... why hath thou b.net forsaken perfect gaming!!! 1.09 classic ... where art thou?.. Uhhh.... sorry about that... :jig: happy dance!

I've played with slow and faster and fast weapons, and the only thing that a 40% ias mod on a whirlwinding weapon is good for, in my experience, is when u are either mana burned and need to use some sort of regular attack (to get back some mana thru leech) or if u suddenly enter the area of the chaos sanct and want to stop ww'ing ALL the time, and start using berserk.

With regular attack, berserk, frenzy and I guess most of the other combat skills too (except for leap, leap attack and whirlwind) ias mean something. By the way, if u cs alot and frequently use berserk, an ias weapon is very useful in quickly getting rid of monsters, especially if its an inherently fast weapon to begin with - such as swords (almost all swords), naga's, etc.. I found the exec sword to be the best overall at this, using it without a shield for the most damage. Then when its safe to ww, u are ready to go again without having to do a tedious weapon or shield switch(and risky too of accidentally dropping on ground).

let me guess

those same people are also the ones who believe that a full tp tome makes more cows in cow level

I had a guy raise a question when I told him IAS doesnt effect ww. He asked why are Naga's so killer in BVB then. I said the range being a 3 rather then 1 from BH is the difference. Is there any other reason why Naga's which have lower damage, are so effective?

Nope, just the range 3.
