Why are skeletons better than revives?

You can only raise non-Necromancer skills with generic +skills if you actually get that skill. For instance Beast gives a fixed level 9 Fanatacism. You can't raise it. However Enigma gives a +1 to Teleport and you can raise this. It is all about the wording. If it says “+X to Skill Y†then you can use +skills. If it says “Level X Skill Y when equipped†then you can’t raise it.

and in regards to the many commments about skellies being weak.

One dies an average of every 70-90 monsters i kill... thats plenty of chances to reraise them.. and im not even sure they are dying, they could just be lagging behind and die that way. Occasionally a large group of fanatic/might melee with ranged casters backing them up will take out 3-4 skellies...

And yes, thats with decent gear, but when im naked(which sometimes i have to be due to lag or stupidity..) my skellies still dont die as fast as some would have you believe on here...
 
Hammer ignores the resists of demons and undead (as if it wasn't grossly overpowered enough). You would need animal magic immunes which are pretty freaking rare (I think they can be found in certain areas of Hell) to mess with a Hammerdin.
 
Personally speaking, I love my skellies :) My Nec is my primary "go anywhere do anything build" . I have no idea why some people have mixed results. If you are looking for a char/ class that flys through players8, then you may need to mod your own game.. ;)

i never say skilles are weak. Im only saying that revive can do better tanking in hell. (temporarly, cuz they only last 3 mins.) Skilles, espeically against elemental attackers like obvilion knight and bosses, will have some troubles in hell.

Hammerdin ignored demon and undead's resistance, but there are some animals with magic immune that hammer cannot break. (wailing beast in act 3 ruined temple for example)

remember, revive takes 200% original monster life. (not counting SM) which means if the monster have 500 life point, ur revive monster will be 1500. The only problem is their dmg and they only last 3 mins, which is why skilles are mostly used in this case.

Moreover, if ur untwinked then ur skillies will be less stronger as well. U cant really compare skillies to revive in battle. Most of time u use skillies cuz they cost less mana and they can stay as long as they dont die, which is why skilles are mostly used over revives. Of course, if ur a summoner then u will access to both skills.

skeletons stay w/ you, and they aren't dependent upon the monster, and they are a lot better than the stats say.

My skeletons never ever had a problem that made more than two of them die at once. (Level 38 raise and 40 mastery) On the other hand, my revives would always die and not only because of the 3 minute timer.

I really have to say that revives are only good in pvp when if the revive is bigger than you and if you have a enigma, it will absorb most of the damage thrown at you.

You can't revive them, they light in fire when they die or something.

nope, u can revive them, try on the one with sword. The one that thorws elemental ball's at u cant be revived.

o, i guess i got the name wrong.

kk, u cant revive obvilion knight, but abyss knight u can.

So what i means is that abyss knight can be stronger than obvilion. (one handed with sword and the other with elemental ball)
