who to gamble with?

i was just wondering who you guys would gamble your gold with for a good ammy / ring. What did you get worth showing?

Vendors don't affect outcomes.

But personally I bribe my gold to Jamella.

For amulets, use your highest level character. I suggest not to invest too much into gambling for them before you have a L90 character. The probability to have a chance to get a +2 skills affix is (charlevel-85)*10% (capped at 100%, of course). Regarding rings, you can try earlier, but if you want rings with 5-6% ML, the probabailty to have a chance for that affix is (charlevel-81)*10%.

The difficulty or the vendor is irrelevant, if you gamble in hell mode, you will get up to 35k for items you don't want to keep.

I'd vote Anya if you're going for an ammy/ring... with the red door still open it's easy to reset her wares so as to ensure 2 rings per gambling session, as if i recall her having 2 rings to select from increases odds of something good significantly... *waits for correction or elaboration*

yup

Anya!

I mean, we saved her sorry (and cold) little butt from that big meanie - she should kick down a crumb right?

I agree with gambling with anya. She is a good and decent bussiness woman trying to make a living.

Gheeds on the other hand legally changed his name to match that rare charm and increase his sales. I don't trust him, he is all about the profit.

When you are feeling dark and mysterious I would reccomend the guy hiding on the east side of act ii. Realize though that his items are barely a step above duped items. He gets everything from the black market, that is why he is always in hiding.

You don't have to leave town to reset the gamble screen.
I don't know what you're talking about with 2 rings making items better.

Maybe that's only with shopping, but i thought if you didn't leave town the gamble screen remained the same unless you gambled something... as to the 2 rings making an item better, that's not what i meant. I seem to recall a thread from forever ago that basically said if there's 2 rings in the gamble screen when you buy them, there being 2 and only so many options for gambling meant that it saved you like .00001 gold per gamble or something... i don't know, i'll quit posting when i'm not sure

Even if you don't gamble anything, the gambling screen changes each time you open it.

Regarding two rings in a gambling screen, perhaps you mean that you cannot get two of the same unique rings because only one can be produced in a single game. However, that would also be the case with two rings in two different gambling screens.

All you have to do is close the window and open again. No need to exit city, which makes which vendor to choose from irrevelant.

thank you, for at least addressing it, if not saving me from looking premature in ejaculation of commentary.

Edit: upon further review, i believe it had something to do with an older patch, in which holding unique jewelry meant not gambling the same unique jewelry, and therefore a significantly better odds of SoJ finding... i haven't gambled heavily since 1.08 or somewhere around there

This was true, if you held a Nagelring and a manald heal, the next unique ring you gambled would be a SoJ.
It didn't increase your chance of getting the unique, but when you did, it'd be what you wanted.

I have no idea when they changed the rules though.
