Had half an hour to kill before work tonight... working my pally through a mob of fallen-type critters in hell tamoe highlands.. one of them dropped an ohm rune - happy with that!

I just started up D2 again for no real reason, other than that I feel like I never beat the game since I never got my zod rune in the past. It doesn't help that D3 feels off to me, and that battle net thing shows my whether I'm online or not. I don't really always want people to know if I'm online. Eesh. I typically played HC, but I think I'm just going to SC this time with a frenzy barb who'll run up to stuff and go crazy. Until I get my zod >.<. Going to mostly do him self found from NM on (I stole one or two stashed weapons to help speed up normal).

Best drop of the day was probably cathan's seal. I got a unique axe too which was probably rarer, but it didn't beat out either of the two weapons I'd muled.

Took a long time off and came back to the Ladder a few days ago, so this morning before work, I killed Andariel (8 player game, HC), with a Clegaw's Claw that dropped on Cats 3. I was worried I was going to have to shop for a few poison duration items.

Not very illustrious, but a potential life saver dropped in the nick of time.

Edit, heh was Clegaw's Claw, not Civerbs shield that dropped. -75% duration for the win on Andariel.

Rare Axe dropped from first (and possibly only?) Baal at the end of normal.

17-58 damage twin axe with +1 barb skills, 53 attack rating, and 7% life leach. Nothing special, but I was in dire need of two new weapons. This is an easy replacement for one, and i can probably farm around in act one of nightmare for the second now that I have this, since I'm not playing HC. Or I can do a few normal Baals with some MF stuff on. Haven't decided what direction to go.

Good thing I didn't play HC, died twice in NM today. Probably wouldn't have on HC because I'd have been more careful, but still. Would have been annoying for this character.

Best drop of the day was Nightsmoke Unique belt, which dropped in the early act two dessert (I went with the NM option instead of Normal Baal farming). It had +10 resist all, 50% damage taken goes to mana, and -2 damage. The 10 resist all is nice of course, but it really won me over with the damage to mana - a stat I usually ignore completely. Turns out playing self-found again, this stat is actually pretty useful for someone with awful gear. I was having mana problems with frenzy earlier, and being forced to use double swing a lot. This belt completely fixes that, and I stay capped unless I'm fighting something with mana drain. I might up it to get 4 rows instead of 3, but I can definitely see myself using this belt for a long time. Until I get one of the standard good ones, probably.

I also got Io to drop which would have let me make a nice Black... if a decent 3 socket weapon had dropped. No luck there. At all. I made a cheap Amn+Tir sword for 25% crushing blow to get past Duriel, who was obnoxiously difficult. I'm probably a bit underleveled. Duriel dropped two swords I'm using. Neither is special, but they do more damage than the one's I'd been holding over from Act 2 normal... I gave up 7% life leach on each, but figure the leach isn't helping me on a sword that does no damage.

I'm playing single player. I kind of wanted to get in on the new ladder, but I'd have had to uninstall that runeword mod I have that let's the ladder only runewords be put up in single player, and I've completely forgotten how I'd go about uninstalling that since I put it in years ago (are we allowed to talk about that mod here? Sorry if not. I just always thought the idea of online only runewords was so unfair). I thought about searing around on the interwebs to see if I could figure out how, but decided I was more likely to end up breaking my game by accident if I started messing around with it.

I've actually never played D2 online, so I always missed out on the hellfire torch and annhilus fun, and all that. Which is kind of a downer, but I'm mostly over it. I guess it balances out because I'm able to spam Lower Kurast games for chests without the system getting mad at me.

I do favor SP, if it wasnt for the online community.

Anyways, iirc the rw mod I used for sp, wouldnt hinder you from playing bnet at all.

AND, if you rename your d2 folder to something else than the standard, your pc wont detect that d2 is already installed and u can install another one. Using the same cdkey, so you cant be online at the same time.. but it works well.

I punched Nihlatak in the kidneys, done so that he vomited up a 43life Coldskiller! Hell yeah!

Time to kick his other kidney? Perhaps I will..! muahahahah

I got Super-Awesome drops from NM Durance of Hate level one and Mephisto.

The Durance dropped me a Rockstopper on level one, which was an epically huge helm upgrade. I had a nice Lore made up in a +3 sword skill barb helm, so it's kind of sad dropping that much weapon mastery. But still, 10% damage reduction and fantastic resists, along with fantastic defense on the Rockstopper, will last me a long time.

I went down and killed mephisto after, and he ended up being a easier than Duriel had been. Mephisto dropped a Buriza-do Kyanon, which was cool. I've actually never had that drop for me (although I never tried super-hard), and have wanted to play an amazon build with it. I'll probably Atma that over to a new amazon, and now I have a second project to work on.

This is one of the reasons D2 is more fun for me than D3... the chance to just go make totally new characters from one random drop.

I'll probably stop while I'm ahead of myself for the day though. I don't think I'd get better drops than these today anyways. And thanks for the D2 folder tip, I might look into that. I think I tried updating on BNet once and it wasn't working. I just assumed it was the mod, although I didn't put a lot of effort into trying to solve the problem.

So yesterday, Hell Andy dropped me some Gore Riders. Unfortunately, just as I dropped them in a muling game, the server went down, causing me to lose them.

The highest rune Ive found this ladder is Cham. But Ive found at least one of every rune too, except Jah+Zod.. They havent dropped yet.

It was a good night; after only 3 Diablo runs in Hell, I found my first ever Skin of the Vipermagi (only 22res) and Trang-Oul's helmet. Later, after xy attempts, I managed to reroll a Sparkling GC for my Sorc.[SIZE=-1][SIZE=-1][/SIZE][/SIZE]
