What is the purpose of Berserk or Frenzy?

What is the purpose of Berserk or Frenzy?

Seems whirlwind is still overpowered enough to the point where its pointless to use Berserk or Frenzy. Is it true that they are pointless to use? I wanted to do frenzy but it seems that its just not powerful enough and its just a fancy form of basic meele, which kills to slow in PvM and cannot be used in PvP sucessfully.
 
I think that berserk make the barb a perfect mage killer, tons of magic damage for one hit kills, that not even bone armor can handle (as it's magic, pass without being prevented).
 
Eheehehe...frenzy is for PvM and the people who like to take advantage of the barb's dual wielding.

Berserk OWNS! I had a lvl 96 barb who had max berserk AND ww. I could berserk other barbs and kill them in 1-2 hits! 1.09 of course.

Of course Berserk vs WW is kinda dumb...but for other classes it might be good. It can catch those quick amazons, etc and it swings fast. It can one-hit kill many duelers as well. Also, you could do 2 quick zerks on a barb who just finished whirlwinding. Also, when you're out of mana it's a good fallback. You ww till you're out of mana, then all you've got is basically desperation maneuvers anyways, might as well make it a huge whopping unresistable magic damage attack that swings fast.
 
Berzerk can really hurt an unweary oponent in pvp. I used berzerklock in bvc vs chars that hit-run a lil-hit... like fohdins instead of switching to mass lr gear with good rezults - one half a second delay and they`re toasted. :xcool:
 
I've been playing d2 since it first came out many moons ago and just now in 1.1 made my first frenzy barb and he is amazing fun to play. He uses scourges, one rare one unique and he does very well. At lvl 86 now he does about 800-4200 on both hands and about 1000-4500 berzerk with 3,600 life and never dies. Hell just yesterday I go the Dclone and killed in about 5 minutes without dying and only used 3 rejuv pots.

I could they when I get home at work at the moment. Off the top of my head it has 30%ias, around 323%ed as the main mods but don't remember the rest some ar and other stuff.
 
And one thing: Berserk is fun!!!

Barb: You, bonemancer. I, klunk. Klunk kill, klunk blows, klunk smash!!!
