What Armor Runeword?

Found a 3socket Mage Plate, and a 4 socket Scarab Husk. Am trying to decide between charsifying them, or making a runeword. I can't afford enigma, and I'm currently wearing a low res viper.

Is there a better option?

Merc is using Duriel's Shell with a Tal mask and Insight. Would giving him a Stone armor be better? Or a Fortitude?

Enlightenment looks really nice, and I can afford it, but it would leave me with negative cold and poison res, and around 50 lightning res. :/

Suggestions? Highest rune I have is Mal, so anything that uses runes above that is out of my range.

Do not make anything for your merc with those armors. If you want to give a new armor for your merc find a Elite Etheral armor and use the cube recipe to get the buged defense bonus, if you get 3 socks give him a Duress, if you get 4 socks give him a Stone.

Enlightment gives you +2skills, but not good fast cast rate or resists as Viper does.

(1.11 runewords, including enlightment)

4 socks runewords
Bramble
CoH
Stone
Fortitude

i would trade then for some Pgems and use then to reroll some GC


And i think that Vipermagi is better then enlightment, FCR and resists are more important than +1skill. You have to survive.

For enigma runeword most people who use a mageplate look to make them in a superior mp with good ed. As for the 4os scarab it might be useful for a fort or coh though I wouldn't use it for these runewords unless it has at least 450+ def, personally I prefer they have 500+ def.

What character is this for? A mage plate I'd save for either Enigma or Lionheart. That Scarab Husk might make a nice merc armor depending on the defense.
