So I was baalin late last night, current set of runs was over and I'm lookin for a new one to join. Then I see a game named "3hr 4 spider". I've never entered a game and ran to act 1 so fast in the all the years I've played DII. :grin:
So now I have 2 bers and a Lo to spend. I'd like to get my spider back and I payed Lo for it last time, so I'm pretty sure something will work out on that front. This leaves me with 2hrs, pul and lem to spend on a weapon for my kicker/trapper. She uses HoTO for casting so the weapon needs to be only for kicking. I've been looking at runewords and the two that stick out the most (besides Last Wish, too expensive) are Beast and Death. Death has killer crushing blow, 20% ar bonus and mana leech, all good qualities for me. But then Beast has a smaller crushing blow bonus but has enough IAS to shatter any break points (I think). Of course it has the lvl 9 fana aura too which dumps heaps of ar and damage on top of my kicks. I'm pretty sure beast would be a better weapon for general pvm, but death looks like it could whoop the ubers with its crushing blow...The way my char is built she can't really swap out much gear for stuff with cb on it so whats on the weapon really matters.
Any ideas out there? A weapon I might have missed? I looked up stormlash too but it just didn't really impress me all that much.

stormlash is actually pretty good because of static chance(lower enemy life) and crushing blow(lower enemy life AGAIN), and last but not least, the tornado, it gives stunlock to the opponents, its just like a free stun to enemy.

Assuming this is pvm?

I still suggest stormlash, but beast, death, lastwish, kingslayer, and crescent moon are all good choices, just check out warrior monk guide for weapon options, I'm sure you can pick out one of them as your main weap.

I've played a number of kicker/trappers through Hell and have tried most of the high end weapons Stormlash, Last Wish, Beast and Death (also Crescent Moon and Fleshripper on lower levels) ... but my favourite weapon choice is still dual claw Bartuc (BER for crushing blow) + Jade Talon.

For a weapon/shield build, Stormlash is OK, but the Static isn't IMO as useful as it first appears .. it doesn't go off often enough to make it reliable, the percentage CtC cannot be increased, and it doesn't work beyond the first 50% damage. Last Wish is a far better weapon for a kicker, but very expensive. Good Crushing Blow and CtC Life Tap are essential to a kicker and the Might Aura is great too. Even the ITD, Blinds Target and prevent Monster Heal are useful ... the only drawback for me is that I use BoS and find the "CtC Fade when struck" annoying.

PS. In your position, I would use LO to make Fortitude armour - a nice Dusk Shroud or Scarab Husk. Avoid superior quality armour because the repair cost is waaaay to high, normal armour works better.

I've played a couple of kickers - do you even concern Lacerator ? The Amplify dmg is .... Amplify dmg -it has the needed speed to reach the BPs ... u decide

My sin is a base str build, so I use a mage plate enigma. Swapping this armor out is a no go. Claws are also out of the question as I rely on stormshield for max block and dmg reduction. Yes, this is a pvm build, and I'm waiting on the weapon to complete the build (sans charms). After the weapon is taken care of she will take on the uber three, hence my desire for crushing blow. I did look through the warrior-monk guide, good read btw, and saw the stats on fleshripper. I remember my friends smitter running uber trist easily with it, however I'm wondering if it misses breakpoints due to lack of ias or has low ar due to the lack of ar bonuses. If it costs more than an um though, I'll probably just skip over it and make a beast.

Uh, AR bonuses on weapons don't work (except AR% like on Asteron's). Are you going Fade? Pretty much any weapon will do fine with Burst of Speed as your personal aura.

Biggest bang for buck = black flail, it's what I used (except for Wizardspike vs Meph - I needed resists).

Beast is actually pretty low on the "awesome kicker weapons" list. Azurewrath with a Ber would do you better.

What's the rest of your setup? That makes the biggest difference. Do you have any other CB? etc. etc.

Bought myself a Beast zerker 249/32 tonight for the 2 bers and a spider for the Lo. So basically after the trades these 2 days I've scored a free beast:thumbsup: Yeah, I'm always faded as I need the resists and extra dmg reduction. Setup is as follows

For Ubers though, it's upped gores and um-ed guillimanes. I did have a black flail but it's stashed now.

14/14 sin torch, 3 20 lifers and about 25str in charms. She has like 1550 life atm (cant check, I'm realm down-ed) Next on the list is a +str res all ring with mana leech and a maras or good +2 sin ammy. After that its infinity and trap gcs.
