Version 1.10 Trang Oul Set became a COMIDY!!!

Personally, I think the TO set has excellent price/performance ratio: the parts are comparatively easy to get, and they are simply an excellent base for a necromancer (Skelemancer at least; don't know about other builds).

My Skelemancer on the previous ladder used TO. I've completed the TO set for my Skelemancer on the new ladder about 2 days ago :-)

I'm not saying it's the absolutely best gear selection (I have never had any of the high-end uniques and runewords, but I assume you can get more with these things) --- but it certainly provides a stack of useful mods. Some of the undocumented penalities such as the chest-kicking speed are bad, others such as the run/walk are good. The look is boring, but has very limited impact on gameplay, so I don't care about that very much.

Using TO as basis, my "standard" build adds an +3 summoning amulet, a pair of +2 marrowwalks and an Arm of King Leoric (still need that one on the new ladder...). I'm the type of Skelemancer-player maxing CE and magi. On the new ladder I'm aiming to roll/buy some summon skillers...

The result is a TO-Skelemancer who is not only perfectly capable to easily solo everything (ok, maggots lair and arcane require some patience, esp. in large games...) --- in party-games of any size people usually DO appreciate having him around.

Funny thing was... I recently played my Ex-ladder TO-Skelemancer again (read above: he's TO-based, and doesn't even have skillers), and there was one guy (playing a sorc) complaining that Summoners suck. Interesting enough, I had to clear his corpse at least twice with my sucky necromancer, plus a few other corpses from "monsters ahead? Charge!"-type players. The more reasonable players, on the other hand, pretty much added to the party effort by staying around this vamp and his skellies instead of wandering off on their own and getting themselves killed.

Maybe it's just me, but I seem to have problems understanding why his sorc doesn't suck and my necro does... or, for that matter, I don't see why TO sucks. I just love it, and if I'm still playing D2 when the ladder is crushed again, I will once again make a TO based Skelemancer first.

Of course, there is at least one thing I don't like: Tal Rasha has MF in it. IK has some MF in it (I think). TO has no MF and no sockets, so with my standard setup I'm stuck with 2 ptopazes, 2 mf rings and gull on weaponswitch. IST (both for Gull and wand), Gheeds and 7% mf charms are all on my wishlist for this season, though :-)

Fair comment, but it sure makes things a lot easier.

I got somewhere into A3 with my Necro wearing bits of the Trang set and some other not-so-uber stuff. By the time I had completed the game I had the full set. I started partying with people I met in chat, who were needing help getting through specific areas. Couldn't believe how easily my Necro waltzed through levels I'd struggled with earlier, when wearing crappy gear.

Sure it makes a huge difference.
I died lvl 80 at diablo hell, did every quest/wp solo with gravespine, wormskull, natalya boots, gloom belt, TO gloves, rare +1 ammy with some res, blue mana rings, goldskin and lideless wall... few life and mana charms, some with res...
About 1k life, 700 mana, all res positive but low. Summoner/poison can make entire game with crap items, all you need is patience and use the right skills in the right ocasions.
By the way, he died killing diablo due to a lag/bug problem...
I think necro is one of the few classes that can solo hell since 1.10 came out.

I think a Skelliemancer wearing Trangs is just fine, because you aren't going to be needing to cast 20 bone spirit's in succession in under 5 seconds.

As for wearing crappy gear and getting far... people do it all the time. 95% of the game is crap gear, right? Someone has to wear it. :)

[SARCASM]Oh well, guess it must have been my ub3r 1337 skillz that let me solo hell wearing it.[/SARCASM]

You gotta remember - most of the kids think that if it's not the best item in the game, it's crap.

Well...

Well guys, it seems that everyone loves the trangs! :cheesy:
Anyway, I like the old trangs because it was 100% fit to my Necromancer from V1.09.. but now it has changed the whole idea by banning the cast rate. & now I have to make a new one from the scratch!!!
I really don't have much time to BUILD a new one.. just because I'm a working guy & my boss in the pharmacy will fire me if I get late because I was finishing the ancients level ( for example :yep: )

But anyway, I liked the running speed in the new one.. it doesn't make me any problem though...
& about the Goul shape, well, the Necromancer is not a fire casting Goul in the first place, the better make him a skeleton shape :uhhuh:

ok guys, thanks for your comments... see ya soon in another Thread...

This might be the case (I don't know the 1.09 version), but most people on bnet play 1.10 now. There is still the occasional 1.09 player, but I don't think they are getting very far in hell... if they even make it through nightmare.

Funny thing is... the current Trangs are 100% fit to my 1.10 necromancer... I wonder why that might be?

For many classes it's much easier to cope with 1.10 if they just forget everything they knew about D2, and start from scratch.

One bug that I noticed today (just got the last piece) is that I started a Baal run in act 1. I took the waypoint to act 5, and when I popped out, I was not transformed! I did the whole Baal run like that. I even used Bone Armor, thinking that it would reset the graphic but nope. I did see that when you weapon switch, or take a piece off, then put if back on, it will transform you.

Hope that helps anyone.

When you change acts wearing full TO, you ALWAYS come out untransformed. This is well known. It seems to take a random amount of time until you turn vamp again --- sometimes I can raise my full army from pindleskins garden because of that (in non-vamp form I seem to have an incredible casting rate...),

If I want the walkspeed bonus, I always WP into town and just wait until the transformation happens.
