Tournament Idea - The Most Useless

Been on a little break for MFing with other chars Im at the end of act 3, ready to take on Meph, at Lvl 31 at the moment. Skell mages die all the time but Iron Maiden saves my but along with Fire Golem ;)
 
The start was slow but at least this weird necro made a new friend and few was of notice other then this cute thing. It was slow but easy until he met Blood Raven who made him drink all his potions and where he had some NDE, mostly because of me not wanting to go back to town to heal and buying more potions. After dispatching Blood Raven it got much easier, a Blood Sister joined him and did most of the killing. The Countess was a push over but gave a nice reward. Getting a Blood Golem made everything even easier, and combined with Iron Maiden and the merc Andariel was killed on p8 with little trouble.

Other then that I found few S/U even having both me and my merc a ring mail and a skull cap full of chipped topazes and some extra mf gear. I managed to gamble Hot Spurs, which may prove useful later.


Real safety though came after getting a Blood Golem, which combined with Iron Maiden and merc made short work of Andariel.

Act II was even easier then Act I, I made my Rogue merc a composite Bow with an Ith and 2 jewels (+8 and +9 max dmg). After talking with this fellow (+1 point), I found out about an evil guy living down the sewers and went to meet him, poison explosion was used to deal with the corpses and avoid resurrection, he died and the Horadric Scroll was recovered (+5 points). I found a nice jewel with 5% res all and +2 to min dmg. My mf finally started to pay off and I found quite a bit stuff, including this, this, this, this and this, but I was most happy about the ring. The limitation of not being able to use circlets was weird since there is where most of my gambling money is spent in Act II, instead I kept shopping gloves and boots, which improved my mf but I wasn't able to score a decent rare with good resists.

After seeing how the character plays I think probably the safest route would be to max golem mastery for a resiliant Iron Golem and also Dim Vision, with a decent numbers of points in Attract. Probably will dump the rest in Poison Dagger/Explosion, but I feel that without being able to secure many +skills they may be weak (also they will lack the synergy of Poison Nova).

Duriel was killed on p8, with a combination of hundreds of Blood Golems, Iron Maiden, and my rogue hitting him. His best drop was this, which turned into an Iron Golem since I'm not allowed to use it myself.

Now about the gear I used, I keep focusing on maxing mf.

I must correct the scoring I gave before because I was missing the point from the Jail wp, so last time it should have been 13.

Now to the scoring for this act, gearwise 1 for the shield , 2 for the belt, 1 for the ring, and 7 for the charms. Adding in The Horadric Scroll, talking to Geglash and and the 3 waypoings. A total of 20 points for the act and 33 so far.

Just wanted to drop by and say that I am still at this, but the MF Triathlon and TL2 came between BlazeRunner and me...
 
Ditzy is slowly making progress, one area at a time. She is fragile, and that is not likely to change. She is still preferring her level 1 skill as opposed to her level 12 primary skill. She has completed one of Tal Rasha's tombs, in an attempt to slowly complete them all. Her weapon upgrade was this umm. I'd call it mostly useless, but it's still an upgrade.

Her weapon upgrade was this umm. I'd call it mostly useless, but it's still an upgrade.

Wouldn't a 3 socket Trident or Brandistock with either 2 Elds (+75% Damage To Undead, +50 Attack Rating Against Undead) and a chipped sapphire to shatter corpses do more dmg? Or you could socket it with 3 Iths (+9 max dmg). Brandistock is the fastest of the 2 weapons so I would prefer it.

Secondly, the few runes I have found are better off going towards runewords - malice and nadir at the moment, as those are also upgrades to her items. She's still wearing plain white gloves! In two Acts, she hasn't found anything significant to replace them with. That's just how her equipment has rolled so far, so she's being very cautious with what items she uses for a temporary replacement.

Looks like I have been really lucky with runes then. Didn't you try to gamble gloves and boots for the mf and scoring potential?
 
*cough* Normally I would, but I did do some gambling, and didn't actually come up with anything worth keeping. After that, gold dried up, and I haven't gotten around to gambling much more. I've had a couple of goes with no success though, but much less than I normally would have by this point. They always rolled with useless properties, so I just sold them, instead of getting a bonus that does basically nothing. I've been expecting something to come up soon, but it still hasn't yet.

Unfortunately, Stella was mobbed by a Frenzytaur champion pack at the entrance of the Frozen River. It didn't help that the rest of the map was full with high HP yetis.

Well, Ditzy_Doo progressed a little bit, but with bad luck in gambling and items (and a horrible main skill,) she succumbed to raiding stashes for items accumulated over several years. She became twinked.
And with that, she progressed fairly easily, using a Level 1 Jab, instead of her main skill, a Level 20 Impale. Yes, Impale is just that useless, that I would prefer to use a Level 1 Jab over it...

Oops. She picked up a lesser quality Hone Sundan, and continued, reaching Hell, and then level 74 through a couple NM Baal runs. During these runs, she decided to try new weapons before entering Hell. Try get a bit more power, even though she was safe and strong with the second Hone Sundan.

Unfortunately, due to resetting skill/stats, and investing more into Strength and Dexterity for the new weapons testing, she lost too much life. She tried a Steel Pillar War Pike, which gave her a very strong attack, but the slightly slower speed allowed her hitpoints to jump up and down so quickly. It felt less safe, but it really packed a punch.
Unfortunately, she didn't clear out the surrounding areas in the Throne Room, and found a very strong Lister pack. Due to the decreased life, her Decoy was also much less durable, and popped quickly (no Valkyrie allowed.)

She used hit and run tactics, which were fine, until a Succubi appeared from around a corner, casting Amplify Damage on Ditzy. Still, she could leach back life, but needed to escape, as the Decoy would soon pop, and she'd become trapped. As she was trying to escape, she got hit a few times, wasn't leaching any life back, and got deeded.

Being twinked, she lost quite a few nice items. Some Unique Spears, various quality, but not rare, sets/uniques.

Once an Ethereal item reaches 0, regardless of self-repair, it is gone. It's broken, and thus none of the properties (inc. self-repair,) work. I don't know about Zodding it, as I can't recall anyone trying that. Or having a Zod to burn like that.
