Franz the soon to be Berzerker started into the Jungles of Act 3. He killed the small Flayer guys with ease. Strangly enough I found the Jade Figure in the Arachnid Lair. That never happend to me before.
The rest of the jungles went by without any problems. I just want to mention the Gloams in the Great March, but they are not very fearsome in Normal.
I made a few runs through the 3 parts of Kurast to get more XP and items. I am searching for a better Weapon for Franz. The council in Travincal was no big problem (Battle Cry helps a lot here). And I have to say that Taunt is really great against all ranged attackers.
In the Durance I quickly found the staires to level 2. In the second level, the WP was found after some exploring and the staires to Mephisto were in the next room. As usual I first cleared out the other monsters on the 3rd level before taking on Mephisto. He took some time to kill (p4). But in the End he died without being a danger for Franz or his merc. He didn't drop anything worth to mention (no uniques or sets).

Franz the now Bezerker ventureed into Act 4. I cleared both outdoor areas, in the progress I killed Izual and leveled up to 30. This opened Berzerk, War Cry and Battle Command :) . After that I searched for the City of Damned WP before closing the session.
The next session should be used to do the Hellforge and find the River of Flames WP. The smith was killed with ease (again). Hellforge was very generous again and dropped an EL :mad: (Theres although found an EL).
As I got a good draw for the monsters in the River I continued into the Sanctuary. IM was not a problem with Berzerk. I just had to drink a lot of potions (blue and red). The CS was cleared after some hacking (I'm still waiting to find a good weapon). While clearing the CS I bought a Sounding (+1 Warcries) weapon, that is now used to prebuff my Warcries (Battle Command, Battle Orders and Shout).
I intend to use Concentrate as long Berzerk and Warcry are at to lower level. The strategy is to use WarCry to stun the monsters and then Berzerk them and stun them again if needed. That is not doable as the stun length of Warcry is too short (< 2 seconds). But I have still 10 skill points saved so it is not a problem to pump Berzerk and WarCry for the next few levels.
Back to the progress. After the CS was cleared fully I opened the De Seis Seal and killed his Minions one by one (Taunt then lead them away out of the Fanaticism radius of the boss). Without his minions Lord de Seis was a real pushover. The Grand Vizier was up next. After this short fight I activated the Infector of Souls seal. His pack managed to kill my merc almost instantly and I had to run. After the resurrection I taunted the Minions away one by one and killed the lonesome boss after that.
Diablo: He targeted my instead of the Merc. But hey, I play a Barbarian here. No problme tanking him. The PLoD (Pink Lightning of Death) did no damage at all. His melee attack and defence were weakened with Battle Cry. He blued Franz a few times, and he needed a few potions, but he fell at last. He dropped a few yellow items which weren't much use.

Sara made slow but steady progress through the lengthy parts of Act V. She made her way through the Ice Caves and the Glacial Trail, freeing Anya along the way. She stopped having reached the Frozen Tundra waypoint, quite close to the Ancient's Way. Only the one point, but she's now ready for Nihlathak, and it should be pretty quick to get through the rest of the Act.

Hi everyone

Merovingian reached Meph, but had a rather bad map, so i reset my map only to find it worsening at every try. I'll give it a few more tries, but i am close to giving up on this one. It is only nightmare after all.
I have found a few things along the way to help my chars, most notably an IK helm for my Barb, but i am afraid his dual leach circlet can't be missed yet. Also a 6% res. all jewel, and various other goodies.

To battle my frustration I played Morpheus a bit, and his killing/survival speed has indeed improved, with all the goodies he received. Still slow going though but safe for sure. Not really getting rid of my frustration this way, but the sewers quest finished and my merc is keeping up in defense now.

So after that time for mass monster destruction with Persephone, who is developing into a glass cannon rapidly. Killing speed is excellent with maxed out meteor and frozen orb. Defense is rather bad, but good enough for now. Still not looking forward to hell, but that is a long way off. I am doubting my decision to go the no-block route, but too late to change now.
She cleared the sewers at top speed and went on to the desert finding all the horadric pieces, turning the lights off and on and finally crafting a staff.
So lot's of progress across the board for 6 more points and a few levels.

Plan for next weekend: get Persephone to act III

I have moved Mich through Act 3 (at last). He was slow killing stuff. His main killing skill right now is Bone Spear. The current tactic is Decripify the monsters and then let the Merc to most of the work with a few Bone Spears to help him out when I gets too much for him. With this tactic I managed to find the first two body parts and the Lower Kurast WP. It was a safe journey through the rest of Kurast.
In Travincal I had a little problem luring out the Council Members and had to go into the temple with 2 unique Council Members still there. They got killed after some cursing and spearing.
I then entered the Durance and found the Stairs to Level 2 around the next corner without encountering any monsters. In the 2nd level I had to go through a few rooms to find the WP and the stairs to Mephisto were in the next room (This would be a nice map for Theres when she runs NM Mephisto).
On Level 3 I had a few serious Merc dying issues. He got killed once per unique Council Member (3 times). Mephisto was no danger at all (Decripify) and he died after a lot of tanking from the Merc and a lot of Bone Spears. He only dopped yellow items and a pair of green chain boots (which were already in the stash).

Nothing to report for the score, but my sorc found the next waypoint and now reached the escher reality that I will run a few times over the weekend.
Hopefully she'll reach act III, but i am not counting on it.
In a slightly related question: I know baal is a lot better for this but would it be worth to run Meph (Nm) for that 'arreats face that i desperately want.

The question becomes can you run NM Meph six times faster than NM Baal or is it worth it to wait for H Meph?

Hmmm, I guess that will mean waiting for Baal and running him a 1000 times each with my fishymancer and vegasorc. Not really something i look forward to, but i'll probably give up after 100 each anyway. Still I'll get afew other drops as well.

Mich continued his journey through Act 4. He had no problems in the open areas of Act 4. Izual fell after some hacking, cursing and spearing. Everything else wasn't a problem either.
Next Mich went into the River of Flames to destroy the soulstone and some good rune at last. The River was difficult to say the least. It had Abyss Knights, Pit Lords and Corpse Spitters. This took some time to clean out. At last he reached the Hellforge and exchanged the soulstone for some jewels and a RAL rune. A decent drop at last. After finding the WP, I saved the game to get other monsters for the run into the Chaos Sanctuary.
But no luck there. So I had a go with it. All went fine. Right at the entrance I found a SOL rune. I guess one of my casters is going to wear a nice helmet from now on. The rest of the santcuary was cleared out after some cursing and spearing.
Lord de Seis was a pushover (again), just like the Grand Vizier. Then came the Infector of Souls. After his update in 1.10, this one earned some respect from me. After I hit the seal, I tried to buy the merc some time in cursing all the Venom Lords, but the Merc only lasted for 10 seconds. I had to retreat through a TP. I then came back the long way through the WP in the River. The plan was to lure out the Infector and his Minions one at a time. That worked out well enough.
Diablo killed the Merc early on with the pink lightning. But after reanimating him, I was lucky and he didn't use his breath again. When he was Decripified he couldn't do much damage to the merc and I had some time to spear him to death. As a reward he droped some useless yellow items. Shame on you Diablo.

One more point as Poison gets the book. Good thing Dark Stalkers have low resistance to poison. I got backed against the door with a mana burn Sarina and friends. Close call but I live to fight another day. Played around a bit with Sword too and gained another level. Next up the dreaded Kurast Sewers and High Council.

The Cat found a jade figurine, gave it to Meshif, got a golden bird in return which he 'decided' to give to Alkor, and got a potion of life. He also dug into the spider cavern and found one of Khalim's many eyes, apart from that he found the spider forest waypoint, and now needs to go into the great marsh (or march as is more appropriate). He did not find any green or gold items, but did gamble for a slightly better yellow shield, apart from that he is making the transition to full time caster, but it's still useful for him to hit something with his steeled superior morning star. He's still looking for a good armour to put stealth in, and a shael rune does start to become a very welcome find for a rhyme shield (as always).
Kochanski will still remain stalled for a while, until I have the time to play both her and my softcore javazon (the latter as a scout) one after another. I'm quite weary of especially the claw viper temple, iirc, her next goal, or she might need to take on some maggots first.
 
I squeezed in some more time for Sara last night, despite being extremely tired. Nihlathak was the target, but by the time I was half way through the second level, I was feeling very tired, and decided that I'd just take the waypoint and stop if I got that first. Fortunately I didn't (despite clearing almost all of the level), so I continued down. Nihlathak was on the third leg that I tried, and was a breeze.

Hi everyone,

my sorc cleared two arms of the arcane sanctuary, but no summoner yet. Doesn't matter since i don't really want to meet him yet, as i am still looking for a few more resist charms. Did make a level so a good contribution to get this thread back to the top. And failed my plan to get Persephgone into act III. Oh well....

Also found a hwanin's armor, which my skelliemancers merc can use very well. My second reward being put into place. Already looking forward to all the static fields going off!

Destroyer Merovingian - (Necro - Summon/Curse) – lvl 63 – Act III NM - Searching for a good map.
Destroyer Persephone - (Sorc Fire/Cold) – lvl 56– Act II NM - Exploring the arcane sanctuary.

I wa sin this tournament a while ago, however I deleted all my things and didn't reïnstall after untill recently. Getting back into this tourney will get me the ''free time eater'' I need.. since I'm not really into anyhting else anymore.
Thus Team Fodst is born.
Sun - Amazon, Bow/Passive.
Moon - Necromancer, Summon/Curse.
Earth - Paladin, Combat/Offencive Aura.

I choose these classes since I wanted a spellcaster, one ranged figther and one close combat. To suit my taste for play.

Sun will need the unique bows so NM->weapon slot. Her merc will need a good armor so Hell->Merc armor slot.
Moon will not need any unique items, so NM->merc armor slot. Hell->merc helm slot.
Earth hopefully won't need any unique weaponry, however he can really use the armor and helm. NM->armor slot, Hell->Helm slot.

Sun will use frozen arrow, a merc and a decoy for backup and magic arrow for those pesky immunes.
Moon will use his summons to hide behind, his curses will hopefully work against any opponent he'll meet and maybe he'll be a dim visionair.
Earth will be a fanatic smiter. With an attack that doesn't require AR and smite needing HS as a synergy he will be relatively safe.

Each character has finished the den of evil allready. Nothing odd happened so far, though Earth found a scepter with +might which he'll probably be wearing for some time.

This is my final team update.

Team Magick_XR – 184 points - RIP
Conqueror Suzy_XR - (Sorc – Cold/Light) - lvl 82 - Act I Hell - 70pts
Destroyer DarkMage_XR - (Necro - P&B/Curse) - lvl 70 - Act V NM - 60pts
Destroyer Windfury_XR - (Druid - Elem/Summon) - lvl 64 - Act IV NM - 54pts

Unfortunately they are all dead. Suzy_XR died in the Pits because a pack of Mana Burn rogues rushed her and she couldn't teleport away. DarkMage_XR fell in the Ancient's Way. He was cornered by a pack of Mana Burn (getting a pattern here :D ) Carvers. He couldn't get out, ran out of potions, he couldn't cast any spell and he was no melee char -> DEEDS.
Windfury_XR encountered a huge triple boss pack of Venom Lords right when he exited the Pandemonium in Outer Steppes. His minions were slaughtered, he kept resummonning them and he was trying to keep up Hurricane and spam Tornadoes. I don't remember exactly if it was the case of a Mana Burn boss again, but the fact is that he got surrounded, ran out of potions and he died.

Lesson: be careful with those pesky Mana Burn beasties especially if you are a caster (or if mana is crucial to your effectiveness in killing ex. Avenger). If you get surrounded by them with a no melee char you're dead.
