'Three Way Dance II' - H.C 1.10 Tournament

Thank you guys for the congratulations. I really really enjoyed this tourney and I hope there will be another one.

This gave me a blocking of 73%. That was enough. I didn't turn into a Bone Fetish very often (the Delirium 'bonus'). As you can see I made a lot of rune words for this character. I ran Nightmare and Hell Countess very much (I think I did close to 300 runs). And I was lucky with my Hellforge drops. At least in Nightmare. The items I got mostly from Hias. He did some (read: I didn't count them, but it was many) Pit runs to gather all these items. The Thresher for the Merc was found in the Jungle of Kurast, it already had 5 sockets. And the runes were pretty cheap at that point, so he got a very nice weapon from that point on.
When entering Hell Sepp had the Delirium helmet, the Crescent Moon Berzerker Axe, the Shield and the Smoke Wyrmhide. The Great Hauberk for the Stone armour was found doing a Countess run with Sepp. Changing the Armour from Smoke to Stone gave me serious resists problems until I found the protector shield, that I made into a Rhyme shield. Another good bonus from Rhyme was the Cannot be frozen modifier.
The ctc Static Field and the curses on the Delirium helm made Sepp a viable character for Hell especially with such low life (for a melee character).

Charms:
I had a full inventory (except 8 slots to pick up items) of charms. Mostly elemental, +life and +damage, +AR. The usual. I calculate a poison damage of 316 over 24 seconds. That was enough to stop regeneration of monsters in Hell.

Congratulations AndiDi. A great achievement to get two Guardians. It looks like you did well in the rune stakes. I'm hoping to be able to make a few decent runewords a little later.

And now a significant update for me. Being on holidays has meant that I've had quite a bit more time to play (and it's been a while). So I'll have to see . . .

Sara continued her way through Act IV, easily dealing with Diablo. I also took Klaudia through the last part of Act III (she only had Mephisto to beat), then through Act IV (where she managed to survive and avoid OK) and finally through Act V. She's now a destroyer, and looking to head into the cows. I've got a love/hate relationship with her shadow - love the extra killing speed, hate it when she casts mind blast on the monster I'm attacking, forcing me to start chasing after another monster. She's quite quick, though.

Having gone back to look through the rules, I see that crafted items are only allowed for the pre-determined slots. Foolish me for missing that, and thinking it was only unique and sets. Oh well, looks like I'm not going to get that crushing blow and open wounds that I wanted for my assassin. Still, I can now fit her out with some nice boots (when I get them).

I got impatient. Sue me. I brought everyone into hell, and after some charm shuffling, I maximized the resistences of Hades and FM (although neither are like Hera's 72/75/75/72).

Anyway, Hera killed the Smith with ease, and Hades began his march through the blood moor and the DoE.

FM is having the hardest time yet, as she must face high resistences and immunities, but teleport is the greatest skill out there.

Managed to get Morpheus to act II, and Persephone killed Bloodraven. Morpheus actually found a few good items, killing Andariel, allthough i can't remember what.

Nihlathak, Baal, the Ancients and the Cow King are all dead, which leaves one question to ponder after I've finished levelling Cristahlia to 75. Should I move my characters into Hell at 75 or perhaps work them up until 80 just to have a few more skill points to spare? I'm looking at the fact that most of the main skills in these builds are now maxed so perhaps the levels aren't really needed. Then again, this is Hell and I should be more prepared instead of fooling with the late 70s. Another point to consider is that the quicker into Hell, the better items from the Pit and also runes from the Countess.

only one reroll with Ball and the anciens : altar was very fast , bad bad bad.

the second will be the right. As usual my merc is killed early but it was not in my plan. I killed madac first, death sentry and my shadow disciple and my blade fury finish to kill it after long runs. I change the technic after , try to stop running to attrack the 2 anciens (and finally one ancien) on my shadow master until he's killed, using blade fury from a very long distance . I have one or two screen shot (must have time to put them on the net).

nothing special for the last wp, if you run slowly, you'll not have any problem.
minion ball are very easy, just the last one where the best choice is to run back a lot until fight the big one alone. a tip, if you attrack them until the stairs, you can run by the other side and the portail will be open without killing them.

baal is long to kill but without difficulty in fact, use lot of heal potion and lot of tp to buy another heal potions.

cow : mind blast and shadow ! and when you have 2 corps , you put death centry and the group is killed (you can kill 2 ou 3 group in 1/10 second) and after you attrack the new group on the ancien corps.

and make you're last level by pit runs if you want but I'm not sure you need for you're necro and amazons.

Played a hour and a bit last night, so everyone got a turn again, keeping in true three way dance spirit. Only Persephone got a point, for rescuing Cain, but everyone got a level, so it was worth it. Also picked up a few items for the stash, most notably a bonesnap and an infernal sign. Now 52 different items in the prize stash, so that one is growing as well.

I continued with Klaudia, taking her through the cows and then into Act 1 NM.

I have come to the realisation that she is a bit of a glass cannon. Very capable of killing the monsters, but quite susceptible to enemy attacks, despite decent resists (except for poison). Her main saviour is her (now maxxed) Shadow Master.

I was concerned going into the Countess' Tower, given that I lost two of my characters there in the previous TWD. Her attempt almost ended in the second level as they came across two boss archer groups who killed my merc quickly (I think his name should be Sir Dies-a-lot). However, recasting the shadow kept them occupied while Klaudia was in a separate room, and she could manage the occassional one that strayed near to her.

Then came the final floor. Getting the layout that saw the deaths of my previous characters made me think twice about continuing. However, continue I did. Carefully creeping around the stair area saw no monsters, which surprised me. It wasn't until I went into one of the antechambers that I came across the dual boss packs. This time one archer and one devilkins. Again, my favourite strategy of 'let the shadow do the killing and dieing' came into play, and she made it through OK.

The other main danger was later in the jail, where (after avoiding Pitdog Foulspawn) she came across a couple of skeleton mage boss groups. Only a concern due to FE and Conviction. So I kept Klaudia away from the action, and let the merc and shadow do the work, feeding the merc potions as I went.

In all, there were several NDEs, but some quick work on the potions saw her through.

Her best finds were probably a couple of Dol runes and Amn runes. I'm going to have to look into some runewords to get her some crushing blow if she's to have any chance of making it in Hell.

Nursie has made it through Act III. No Meph running for her as her map is dreadful and she should be strong enough to make Destroyer anyway.

Next up is Edmund who will have the hardest time of the three getting past the flayers as he has to melee them. He's already done the Golden Bird quest though.

Will probably go on /players1 and then run Kurast a bit to regain the levels.

Persephone killed the countess, and immediately moved on to recover Charsi's hammer. Not much to report about it otherwise, Frozen orb is still killing players 8 monsters in 1 hit, so all is well.

Well, it was a pretty bad day for team Venom. Adder has left this world, killed by no one in particular. To tell you the truth, I don't know what happened.

I was fighting a boss pack of Ghouls in the Catacombs level 3, and some of those Disfigured guys (whatever they are at that point) come out. No problem. They seem to be dying easily. Suddenly, I can't move. I turn around but I don't walk. Then, poof! Dead. Ah, well. Asp will just have to continue on by herself.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Porius. I've been in similar situations before, and just try to drink through all my potions and fight my way out if possible. Hopefully Asp can avenge her teammates' deaths.

I have another update, as Klaudia has completed Act 1. Andariel was quite easy (on players 1), despite my horrendous negative poison resistance. Although she knocked off the merc quite easily, Klaudia's shadow was more than sufficient to finish her off.

The next stage will be with Starm, who has now started in Act 5 (while Klaudia awaits them to catch up in the rogue camp). She breezed through the Foothills, laying waste with her improving Frozen Orb. Soon it will be killing everything even easier, as she is levelling up nicely.

@ Porius: Sorry to hear your loss. Sometimes you just get stunlocked, and there is little you can do about it.
@ Mage11: I love FO! Never ever played a sorc before, but it is just great.
My level 26 frozen orb lays waste to everything in sight, and will for a long time to come i think.

Quick update:
Persephone finished act I, and hired her new holy freeze merc. She'll have to spend some time levelling him in the sewers, but that will come. Found a few uniques/set items on my way, but nothing new. (second Aldurs rythm this tourney among others). Also another level for more life and meteor

After that I decided to make a run with the Merovingian, and get all this staff finding business out of the way. I didn't do full clears, but killed most on the map. Everyhting went on players 8, except for the worm tunnels, those went on players 1. Unsummoned everything, and let the merc do all the killing. This also made him catch up in levels, so a good run all together.

Last a massive gambling spree with all my chars which netted me this beauty:
