'Three Way Dance II' - H.C 1.10 Tournament

@Gouda: I put my points into Raise Mage. This was a good decision 'cause later in Hell when I had to fight against magically immunes that didn't loose their Imunitie after Amp. And they are really good meat shields against ranged attackers.The downside is: They tend to stay in the way of your other minions.

Well yes I know I "can" get resists that way but I have other mods on my helm and shield like MF, +skill, Mana, Mana regen, CBF, FHR that I'd lose. My other EQ is pretty shabby too, I seem to keep finding things good for builds I did not choose. A necro would be in heaven with my prize stash. I actually have found more runes than I said but I chose Jewelry so I've been using up Rals and Amns to craft with. Just one good drop from the countess, thats all I ask...

One more two hour session to end the evening and Sword completed the Staff of Kings and gained another level. Plus, I added my first elite item to the prize stash: Dark Adherent :xgift:

Sara did manage to make her way past Mephisto. The council were a breeze, and I reduced to players 3 to take on Durance 3. No real difficulties, apart from having to recast my valk a few times.

My next stage is to take Sara through Act IV before returning to Klaudia.

Nothing much to report here except that another 5 or 6 Diablo runs with the Zon ought to move her up to lvl 70. Then I can start on Act V with the Druid. I know Baal is going to be a real pain the arse - he always is for a Summoner - but I'm counting on the strong synergies between Hurricane and Tornado to take him down. I'm now thinking of throwing ten points a piece into Cyclone Armour and Dire Wolves then keeping the point placement even between them every level thereafter.

I need a better Merc weapon. I also need to start shopping for a wand with Life Tap charges. I think that would be extremely useful for my Zon. I cast a Valkyrie that was taking 2/3 the life off every monster in the Chaos Sanctuary at /players8. Of course Iron Maiden had to come along and take her away from me.

Steel found the Gibidin and bailed out an attempt to negotiate the Flayer Dungeon after getting backed against the stairs by a Ghost pack with Mana Burn. I did buy a Champion Sword with Magic and now all my Pgems will be going toward re-rolling a Cruel. Hopefully, I will get lucky :xirish:
 
Hi everyone,

played a bit yesterday, and have some progress still to report from the day before.

Anyway tuesday Persephone cleared the Den of Evil, to stop her bickering with akara. Unfortunately she is now involved in a discussion on the moral standards of rogues, so not a big improvement. But she earned a point for my score, so that is nice.
Yesterday, I ran the countess one more time with Morpheus at players 5, but it turned out that this was too difficult. So i broke of the run and decided to just quest a bit. Morpheus quickly found Charsi's hammer, and procedeed to the next waypoint.
After that in true triumvirate spirit the Merovingian had a quick sewer run which gave his merc another level. After that a lot of gambling, with another excellent paladin(hammerdin) circlet, +2 combat skills, 20% faster cast, 14% res. all, MDR and a big fire damage. Also found a decent barb circlet, but the defense on circlet is just too low.

I'm still here, but I haven't had much of a chance to do anything. Made the mistake of joining the scavenger hunt tourney, which I've had mayby an hour to play with...

I played Sepp over the holidays. First he traveled to the Ancients. There I got a lucky first draw with no FE. One of them was Cold Enchanted, but no problem here. I took me like 5 minutes to kill all of the ancients. I still have problems with my AR. After that I ventured into the Worldstone Keep. The first level had Death Lords, Blood Lords (Vampires) and Hierophants. I got a nice little encounter with a Death Lord Boss, which was HolyFreeze, Stone Skin and Physically Immune. It took me and my Merc some time to kill him. Level 2 had Horror Mages, Exploding Guys and Serpent Magus. After finding the WP I decided to take a look into Level 3. There I meet Demon Tricksters and Hell Temptress. No problem here.
The stairs to the Throne were quickly found. There I meet Blood Temptress and Death Lords. I couldn't believe my luck, no OKs. So I cleaned out the Throne and then the Throne room quickly. The first 2 packs of Minions were quickly taken care of. The Venom Lords took some time to kill (low AR again). Next up was Lister and his pack. I singled them out, to kill them indiviually. Lister was PI and FE. I like that combination. So he was killed by my merc (he died like 5 times).
Now on I went to kill Baal. I nearly hacked him for 10 minutes. I had to drink quiet a few potions and went back to town to get the merc back for 3 times. But in the end Sepp was the winner and earned himself a Guardian title.
Items? Baal dropped 2 yellow and 2 blue items, all of them were worthless.
I found the Bonehew on level 5 of the Tower while running the Countess for runes.
I still have to kill Nihlathak and the Cow King to finish up Sepp.

Just a quick update:
Sepp has killed the Cow King and then Nihlathak. I was lucky in the Halls, because I found the stairs really early. Nihlathak was killed quickly. I used Charge to get to him pretty fast. So there were no corpses to explode. He died quickly to my Axe.
Then I moved Hias through the Foothills, killed Shenk, rescued the Barbarians and the then thawed Anya. Pretty effortless.

Decided to complete Act V in a quick session at /players1. The Ancients were easy and Baal was surprisingly not as bad as I had expected. I upped the players setting to 8 to face Baal's minions and all battles were quite easy apart from Lister (but then again, when is he ever really all that easy?). I went off and killed the Cow King afterwards and now I am debating whether or not I should start Hell at lvl 75 or closer to 80...hmm.

Talk about having a bad day:

Poison attempted to find the eye and ran into a Might enchanted Sizzy with a bunch of PI friends. Not good

Then must go through Great Marsh (/w Gloams) to get to Flayer Jungle. Even better

Frustration level: Medium Risk: Medium

Sword attempted to complete the tome quest with deathtrap map.

1st try: Sarana has Might aura
2nd try: Sarana has Fanat aura
3rd try: Sarana is Fire Enchanted
4th try: Wailing Beast boss pack at enterance
5th try: Things look good but Death Lord pack at enterance, cold enchanted boss. Used two rows of juvies to establish foothold. Sarana clean but cold enchanted so two more rows of juvies expended. Success!

Frustration level: High Risk: Very high

So for all that risk and work Team_Steel added two more points to the board :xx:

Hias has defeated the Ancients. It wasn't very hard or dangerous. I had 11 Deatrh Lords with me from the Ancients' Way, so no problem there. The WP in the Worldstone Keep was found pretty quickly and without much trouble.

After dying in both the Low Level and RSB Tourneys, I have come back to Team Blackadder.

Edmund the Druid has made it through Act II without much trouble (though he did have to use a number of big purples) and I now have to decide who will be the first to tackle Act III and have a run at Meph.

Hias has although killed Baal, the Cow King and Nihlathak. Baal took some time to kill, but he never summoned his twin brother, so my army could kill him after some time (like 5 minutes). He dropped nothing usefull (only yellow items).

It was great fun playing this tourney. I am already looking forward to the next 3-Way-Dance (if there is one). And I feel a little bit sad about losing Resl that early in the game :xx: . Maybe the MagicArrow-Amazone wasn't a good idea after all.

Sepp was good fun and challenging to play (had some nasty NDEs in later Hell, mainly Act 4 and 5). Be he got a decent weapon after all (Crescent Moon Berserker Axe). And the HF-merc turned out to be a good choice for him. After I invested some points in Vengence, even PI were no big problem any more. But I don't think I could have made it without my Delirium helm. Looking back, I should have chosen the Gloves slot for Sepps second reward, some nice Blood Gloves mit IAS would have fitted him very nicely.

Hias the Fishymancer is the saves character I have ever played. At times he became a little bit to save (read: boring), especially when the going was slow or in the thight areas (Arcane Sanctuary, Maggott Lair).

Magic Arrow Amazons are feasible, but you have to be very patient. Frequent use of Decoy is necessary, in addition to the Vakyrie and merc. Delirium helms do wonders to crowds in conjunction with pierce. I only got to Act V NM or Act I H with my MAzon, but that's because I decided to come clean and join the SPF.

What I find useful with Bows is having a nice three socket superior with a sapphire, ruby, and emerald, preferably of the perfect persuasion.

What was your final equipment/skill points/stats on Sepp?

Psycho, I'll be sending you the Team Eddings stash this weekend, as soon as I get a chance to clean it up a bit... and take out the needless duplicates.
