Easy progress for Herne during the rest of act 1. However, the merc´s weapon (Savage Partizan of Alacrity) is slowly losing its magic touch vs. /players 8 monsters. He needs something better soon. He has the STR to be able to swing a Bec-De-Corbin, but I held off gambling any Halberds for now. I can´t play Herne for a while now and my other two characters may need those runes. Besides, Herne´s merc is now allowed to use uniques and who knows what Elayna and Odysseus will find in act 5?

Herne found a useful weapon, a Tusk Sword with 3 sockets. Since Elayna is going to hire a barbarian merc who can´t use uniques, a 'King´s Grace' Tusk Sword does not look bad at all. I wonder what level they need to be to get 103 STR? I have two reserve weapons for him until then: a rare (upgradable) Crystal Sword and a 'Malice' Flamberge.
 
Haron Is dead :hanky:
Hi has lvl 72 when hi completed his army (might merc, clay golem, 6 revives, 11 sketetons and 4 mages), lovers players seting to 1 and goes up to meat with Ancients. He reads the book and back off very fast. His army started fight with barbarians. Life bars of the Ancients drops surprisingly fast, I dont really know what afixes they have. And them this leaping one jumps and lands near Haron. Skeleton hits him and hi dies. But hi was cold enchanted and his explosion kills Haron! That was my stupidity, I should pres "W" and swich to head with rezists, but ewerything hapends to fast. My plan was: first to curse them and them beck off, swich to head with rezists (without this Haron has negative razist on cold) and wait when my army ends the work. But I try to look on Ancients mods and pay for this the highest price.
This is first time when I play HC, so Haron is my first lost HC character. It surprisingly pains. Ill definitly play with my 2 remaining chars, but I need time to rest. So see you for about 2 weeks. I have Temple of Elemental Evil instaled on my PC too, so Ill try something diferent.

@jiansonz: Normal dificulty barbarian herelings have 104 strength at level 30.

@PetroPanko: It’s so sorry to hear about your Deeds. Don’t take it hard – the death from Ancients is a very honorable one! The death from plain mobbing from Diablo’s minions in normal (mine Pal’s one) is much more shame.

As for me – I’m resting from Diablo too. Actually I have a bit progress with my Zon through Act3 NM, but I’m just lazy to look at her stats and prize stash to post update yet :P
I’m playing Rise of Nations. It’s stupid game, but it is RTS anyway! And all RTS are the same for me since I’d tried Dune 2 and Warcraft 1 sometime around ten years ago :D

Ran out of steam after Zedar slayed Shenk, rescued the Barbarians, thawed Anya, and killed Nilly. (phew!)

Thanks to his bone armor, Zedar flew through the act with little to no NDE. The only truly scary part involved burning dead archers. This is where the beauty of bone prison came in. At the high, high level of 24, it's exceptionally cheap to cast, and has the added bonus of blocking all of those nasty projectiles. I'm spending some time leveling bone spirit, before spending more time working on finishing up bone wall. After those four (spirit, wall, prison, spear) are maxed, I might throw more points into CE for some longer range kabooms.

Back to Zedar's progress, though. The only other scary part aside from the burning dead archers was all of the flayers and quill rats in the Halls.

Oh, my, god. Fifty million little darts flying at me. They do next to no damage, which is good, but they tend to prevent casting. I got a lot of mileage out of corpse explosion. If they want to run in packs, they'll pay.

Nilly was easy -- I just blew up his corpses before he could, trapped him in a prison, and relentlessly speared him.

Now comes the exciting trek up to the summit -- and a quick and painless battle with some soon-to-be-trapped ancients.

I did find two new uniques for the stash -- Riphook, which I love so very dearly, and Stormguild, the unique large shield, which I have actually never seen before...

From what I have read, the Ancients totally ignore Bone Wall/Prison segments in 1.10. I haven´t seen it myself, though. How was it in Normal? Did you use any prisons there, or did you just Spear them?

I just speared them. You're correct that they ignore them in 1.10, or so I remember, but if you get them near a pillar or some such, they contentedly get stuck and run into a wall. I'll let you know how the practical application of it goes tonight, though. :)

Zedar's battle with the Ancients were easy. Even though they could leap over or whirl through the prisons, they did enjoy attacking them. Then I could just spear through them. Fortunately, no Fire Enchanted mishaps happened.

The trek down through WSK was dreadful. I made it to WSK2, got the WP, and had to take a break. Boy, things are slow to die! Once I get them killed, I can blow them up and take out the area with ease... but it's still a scary fight.

The Throne Room was filled with Gloams, vipers, and fire breathers. Not so bad... although it seemed like there were thirty enemies in the actual throne room. Once those were cleared out, the strategy of prison, spear, boom! went into effect.

Baal himself took a good three or four minutes to kill. He would throw ten or twelve appendages at me at once, which caused all kinds of scary problems. Finally he died, and Tyrael came down, and put the wonderful red portal..... inside a pillar.

Crap.

Fortunately, the game completion followed through when I S&E'd, and I was presented with a shiny new Conqueror!

A quick leap into cows, lots of blown up corpses, and I'm 3 points richer.

Next, power leveling for Zedar :(, a trek through Act I for Liselle, and, eventually, a desert spa treatment for Polgara.

I took both Peanut and Hazelnut through Act IV without too much difficulty. Hellforge drops were Um and Hel. Another Hel.... then, Peanut found another Hel in the ROF on the way to the sanctuary.... ACK! Please I want a sol or a shael or anything but another Hel! I think I'm going to be able to cube a zod from Hels at this rate. (Ok, really I only have found 5 during the TWD but it seems like a rediculous number) Hazelnut found 2 Tal's Masks in act 4, one in the Sanc, and one from D. No other interesting items to mention.
I have guardianed a Bowazon before, but never gotten a HC sorc past act V NM, so peanut may need some luck from here on in.

Sorry to hear of your loss, PetroPanko. Making the Ancients in NM is a great achievement for your first HC character. Good luck with the other two.

As for me, I managed to get enough time to take Sara out and Kill Radament, pick up the cube and get on to the Far Oasis waypoint. She reached level 23 on the way and had no real problems. Now that they all have cubes, I am going to take Klaudia through hopefully to the end of Act 3.

Uh, so what, exactly, has changed since 1.09? This sounds like my experiences in that version.

Korlic chooses between:
- Attacking you with a Leap Attack if you´re within range (allowing him to jump over prisons)
- Meleeing nearby Bone Prisons
- Leaping at prison segments further away (making him able to break free sometimes)

Talic chooses between:
- Meleeing nearby Bone Prisons
- Whirling through prison segments (allowing him to break free sometimes)

Madawc is hopelessly stuck, but can sometimes get some axes through



Maybe the difference is that in 1.10, more people actually PLAY necromancers. :lol:

- walk right through them

The last time I played one was in the beta, and I could have sworn they just ran right through them.

I'm not complaining, mind, but it certainly was a nice surprise. I'm not looking forward to trying it in Hell, though... :)

forge dropped a FAL rune to baal, not a bad day after all.
 
Bone necro was my first successful 1.10 character. He had the easiest hell ancients battle among all my 1.10 chars. They was imprisoned completely and stupidly fought with my prisons while I spammed my spirit. It was really easy battle. However at the first time of their spawn I was accidentally killed – that was before I read about FE bug here at forums, fortunately it was SC.

Mace has progressed to Lut Gholein and now has his HF merc for PI monsters. He then went back to the Countess to level his merc up. Best rune drop during the Countess runs? Shael. From a crate. I think I managed to eke a Tal out of the Countess herself. I'm thinking of making a Rhyme runeword shield for my other two chars to share.

Stash count up to 41 total items. 21 green and 19 gold. I've got most of Isenhart's set. I also found Skins of the Vipermagi. Too bad I can't wear it. I've got Steelclash sitting in Mace's inventory if I don't find a better shield by the time he makes conqueror. Maybe I'll upgrade it to a dragon shield.

I think Mace should reconsider his shield choice. I would much rather use 'Rhyme' than Steelclash, upgraded or not.

Congratulations! :clap: There can´t be many teams that have reached this far.

But what has poor Zedar been doing? My characters reach Conqueror status at level 67 when they have been played on /players 1 the whole way.

Either he is related to Maldar (the pacifist Hero) or he´s trying to become the lowest level Guardian in the tournament....

Thanks :) Zedar, well, is a coward. No optional areas, as little hunting as possible... basically he just wants to scrape by with as little battle as he can.

Now I'll power level him on pindle and elditch until he hits mid 60s, and go on from there.


A random question to you all: I want a 3-socket Matriarchial spear. If I use the low quality -> normal recipe and the socket recipe in the cube, that should get me a 3-socket one, but with +1 spear skills since it's ilvl is so low, correct?

Now, is there any easier way to get a +2 spear skills one? I want to make Crescent Moon (yay for -% enemy lightning resist!). Of course, I have to find the Um rune, but... well, it can't hurt to plan ahead.

I had hoped the Squid would eat my Crescent Moon in a Spear post. :) For those who missed it - yeah, I realized you can't make CM in a Spear. So now I don't need a 3 socket Matriarchial Spear.

What I do need is the fastest possible (6x Shael?) spear weapon that she can flood the field with CS with to use as a boss killing weapon. Hmm....

I had to stop for the day at lvls 80, 70, 60. Very funny. Liselle is having a.. fair enough time of it. Lightning Immunes, may I say, are evil. EVIL!

She made it through to The Countess, who coughed up a... Shael! I stopped for the night, only because after killing the countess I was like 'Oooh! Runes!', and sent Polgara out to do more killing. No luck with that, though.

Polgara DID find a IK Maul in Level 5, and Liselle found a beautiful... Tal Rasha's Lidless Eye! Unfortunately, I can't use it, because of the stupid passive Masteries. Curse you, Fire Mastery!

I'll kill Andariel this weekend, and then get to level Zedar more... he's a slow power leveler. I really need to kill more enemies on the way to the quests...
