* - My amazon has not gone to Act III as listed in the scoreboard. She can't until my sorceress gets to Act II. She just finished shopping Drognan for a wand for Mr_Bone. It's got +2 to Bone Spear and +3 to Golem Mastery. The Golem Mastery is obviously not going to be of any use. I was aiming for +2 to +3 bone spear in a non-magic bone wand to later be used for the 'White' Runeword. I did find a +3 bone spear bone wand, but it had mana leach. :rant:
Mr_Bone used his lvl 7 Teeth (5 hard points, +2 from wand) to shoot his way through Act I. At slvl 7, it wasn't too shabby, especially after lvl 12 when I started dumping points into bone wall. Andariel was no threat whatsoever. I cast Bone Walls to block her from my rogue and I, and she decided to melee the walls. She was then Amp'd and promptly killed. The Countess dropped an Eld and a Ral. I will most likely be doing countess runs with my sorceress to get some low level runewords. I would really like 'Stealth' and 'Ancient's Pledge'.
Also, I need a rules clarification. The first post mentioned that items that gave a boost to skills in a tree you can't use are okay as long those skills aren't used. For example my wand I just bought has +3 to golem mastery, which I obviously can't use since I can't cast a golem, so it is okay. But what if my sorceress was to find an orb with say... +3 to Chain Lightning and +1 to Warmth. Warmth is passive, so it doesn't require active use...it is 'always on.' I would assume that this would be a major no-no, as would any other 'always on' passive skills not in someone's two trees, for instance the passive tree of the barbarians. Just wanted to make sure of this.
