Ok, I have tried to think for a few days about this, and I hope I have something. DII is my first real forray into what I would call an RPG. I don't read books, don't play a lot of other games, so this was hard for me.
But I am showing an attempt here. Is this doable? Have I met the 'theme' requirement portion and have I laid it out well enough?

The Don
Money, Money, Money, Money.......Money!
The Don (AKA: Donald Trump) is a master of business.
In 'The Apprentice' style, The Don will be a master
in this tournament. He is not afraid of anyone and will
control all who get in his way.
With 20 points in Skeleton Mastery, there is no doubt
that he can control all who he takes out with those
famous words of "You're Fired!". Yet in this tournament,
those famous words are not spoken, they are deemed said
at the time those monsters are slain in the battlefield.
With 20 points in Raise Skeleton, this gives The Don
plenty of new recruits for this season's list of
apprentice wannabe's. These new young cadets who form
the corporation "Money Incorporated" will have plenty
of battles ahead of them, but only one can be crowned
"The Apprentice" when the final challenge has been
completed.
The Don would not set out on any business arrangement,
or an adventure in this case, without his trusted and
loyal sidekicks.
Carolyn is working hard now to prepare her for this journey
into this tournament, and won't be joining us until a
few quests into Act I. Although she is a Rogue, and quite
willing to guard The Don's blind side; she still has
work in New York that prevents her from starting right
away.
And of course George will follow shortly as well. As
he prepares his office to run efficiently while he
is away with us on this adventurous tournament. He has
sent word he will join us sometime around level 24.
He has indicated that he will try to fly out around the
time we are going up against Duriel, but he doesn't know
for sure if he will make it by then. In his stead, he has
offered to let Bill Rancic (Last year's apprentice winner)
to help us on our journey until his arrival. However,
Bill says he cannot join us for a little while. He
promises to be in the thick of things at level 6 and
can stay only until George has showed up.
As you would expect from The Don, he has a plan for this
tournament. He wanted this to be exciting, courageous,
and test his mental edge against those with might and brawn.
So here are the rules he is self-imposing upon himself.
1) Necromancer
2) Skeleton mastery as he is the master over his dominion.
3) Raise Skeletons to be his apprentices in training.
4) Only a Rogue for a merc, the female sidekick Carolyn.
5) A Clay Golem (Bill Rancic) allowed while awaiting Iron Golem (George).
6) All equipment must have one of these attributes in order to wear it;
A) Item is green.
B) Increases gold or magic find.
C) Poison resistance, poison length reduced, or poison damage.
7) Except for starting wand, only an item meeting criteria 6 above,
will be allowed to be worn even if means being naked for a while.
8) Carolynn can wear anything and is not as crazy as The Don.
Skills
----------
20 Raise Skeleton (The Apprentices)
20 Skeleton Mastery (The Don is a master)
1 Clay Golem (Bill Rancic)
1 Blood Golem (Pre-requisite)
5 Iron Golem (George)
5 Golem Mastery (Even his sidekick is mastered)
5 Summon Resist (All apprentices get some learning from The Don)
1 Teeth (When The Don bites your ass, you know it)
20 Corpse Explosion (The Don leaves no business left unfinished)
5 Amplify Damage (Only to 5; you can't handle The Don at 10!)
Well, I hope it is good enough to get into the tournament. If there are some adaptations or something I haven't thought of, I am all ears.
